Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

I turn into something that can be used as a sword. It's called a Keyblade.

[Because what the hell is that? He is not about to question anything beyond that though. This place is strange enough. He shrugs with a smile on his lips..]

If it is as good as any sword then I am willing to give it a go if you are.

[It's even better than a sword, in her opinion. But to explain why would require her to reveal things that she believes are better kept a secret. Instead, she just nods and holds out her hand to him.

Belatedly, she realizes she doesn't even know his name.]

My name is Aqua, by the way.

[One step at a time as they say. He reaches out to take Aqua's hand. He has a feeling it will be more than a simple sword in the shape of a key.]

Clair. Let's see what you can do.

It's nice to meet you.

[And that was the last thing she says before she closed her eyes and shifted into Stormfall.]

Likewise.

[He watched as the weapon formed in his hand and he smiled. He could feel that surge of energy. All he had to do was open his mind a little bit and allow himself to resonate with her.]

[Aqua's soul was like the sound of the shore on a calm day: gentle and steady. She was used to opening herself to resonance by now and she didn't hesitate to reach out to form a tentative connection.]

[And Clair can feel that calm. He doubts his own soul feels as such, but he finds that he works better with others that are not abrasive. What she may feel from him is a desire for strength. Other emotions are likely to come later on. Whether or not they will be able to have a fully stable resonation will remain to be seen.]

Well, this certainly is the most unique form I have seen for a sword thus far.

[A desire for strength in and of itself isn't a bad thing. Aqua herself sought it, the power to protect others. In the end, what matters are the motives.]

It's not exactly common where I come from either.

[Mafioso tend to want strength for another reason. The motives themselves are still different here because what are the odds of the same motives being here?]

As long as this works as a sword then I don't mind what you turn into. Is there something I should know about this form or should I just start swinging?

It's meant to be wielded with one hand. [Terra's wasn't and Ven's had to be held with a reversed grip, but Aqua's didn't have anything too fancy to it, especially not when it had been stripped of all its other powers.] That's pretty much all you need to know.

[One handed is the way Clair would prefer. Though the only true swordplay he is accustomed to is fencing, he has more experience nonetheless. He approaches one of the training dummies.]

Simple...I like that.

[He makes a simple lunge that one expects to see in a fencer towards the dummy's midsection.]

[And Aqua didn't say much afterwards, choosing instead to observe, both his style and his wavelength.

It was not a fighting style she'd have chosen, personally, but she was curious about it, never the less. And a little of that curiosity probably bled through in their resonation.]

[Just giving you a test lunge. His style can change, but he will go with what he does best. After all, the last two weapons he resonated with happened to be a whip and a bow.

This time he takes a more wide swipe at the dummy.]

So what kind of world did you come from where giant keys exist?

It's called a Keyblade.

[It's not just a giant key. She wasn't offended though, since she hadn't mentioned this before.]

And it's not that much stranger than what we have here.

[If he knew more about it, he would probably be intrigued.]

Well, you are right about that. Seeing one of those creatures we have to kill up close is enough to convince me of that.

How many missions have you been on?

[Unfortunately, this was one of those things where Aqua preferred to be sparing on the details.]

Five as a Weapon...there were a few more from back when I used to be a Meister.

So you were what I am previously? How interesting!

[And he does mean it. So far nobody else had mentioned this place being able to switch somebody between the two. He doubted it was that simple though. There was always a catch.]

A little more seasoned. I had a feeling I was right in agreeing to working with a professional. Which do you prefer: As you are now or what you were before?

[There was a brief pause on her end, there and gone so quickly you could have thought you'd imagined it.]

Does it matter? Whatever I am, I'm fine with it as long as I can protect people.

[She was dodging the question, because her feelings about her changed designation were mixed and the reason for those mixed feelings were a little complicated and more than a little personal.]

[He struck a cord in there somewhere. As much as he would love to dig a bit more into that, he finds it better to remain civil for the time being.]

No. I suppose it doesn't matter as long as the job gets done. People can get hung up on wanting to know how somebody really feels. I just care about results.
