Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

Right...so, um, I need to transform first, right?

[That's a simple enough matter, at least for a simple full transfer. She closes her eyes, mostly to disguise the flash of red before she turns into her katana form]

[Again, a nod, and Amaterasu watches as Anri changing into her katana form. Interesting that it's so specific.]

[Curiously, she steps closer, sniffing the blade first. Inspection done, she sets aside the training sword and slowly shifts Anri onto her back.]

[It's a curious feeling, being lifted by Amaterasu - it's curious enough when it's another person but this is rather different and there's part of her that wishes she had some way to hold on even as she knows she doesn't need it.

She waits for Amaterasu's lead, then, nowhere near assured enough of her own skills to try and take charge.]

[Amaterasu's white soul comes in slowly, carefully, going around Anri's with a soothing warmth. It doesn't move any closer, but instead, waits for a response.]

[Though still reluctant, Anri allows that familiar soothing presence to encourage her. It's an effort, and it's clear in the reluctance of her soul - a red beacon in contrast to Amaterasu's white - but little by little, she can bring herself to reach out a little more.

It helps, in a way, that Amaterasu isn't human - in knowing that, she can be more assured that if Saika does influence her at all, and she's still not convinced she's not still lurking, she'll at least behave more where her partner isn't human.]

[It's alright. Amaterasu doesn't mind just hovering around and waiting for Anri's soul to move. Both souls have to agree after all.]

[Well, there's a thing that Amaterasu might have to explain and that's when a more human-shaped soul speaks up]

Anri! Can you hear me? [Probably sounds like a faulty radio.]

[Even as she's been trying to reach out, Anri's soul all but freezes at the faint, vague voice. She knows a little about how Weapons and Meisters can communicate, of course, but while she knows Amaterasu can understand her, it's a rather different matter to have Amaterasu speak, no matter how unstable the link.]

...Amaterasu-san?

Yes, that's right.

[Her tail wags. A spry wolf like her sounds very adult.]

Hello! Properly this time.

Ah, um, hello?

[On the one hand, this makes sense if Weapon and Meister are supposed to work together - of course they need some way to communicate. On the other hand, this is still very weird, and this from someone who is used to telepathic communication with others.]

Yes, yes. That's right. Hello!

[It is a little odd the first few times, but getting to the part where they can even communicate like this is an accomplishment in of itself.]

[At least the telepathy itself doesn't seem to be causing too much of an issue.]

I, um...I didn't expect you to sound like this.

[Not that she'd had any voice in mind to begin with, other than wolf. Makes her a little curious as to how Celty might sound if she were here and were able to do this.]

Ah! I guess I do sound a little different than how most people would imagine.

[She laughs lightly, but it's not mockingly.]

That's actually a curious question now. What do people often believe one would sound like if they were never able to speak in the human tongue?

I don't know...I haven't thought about it much.

[Not until now. But did that mean Amaterasu had somehow picked up on her thought process?]

[No, not really. It was just a coincidence.]

They could try asking. Then again, how do you describe a voice to one who can't hear it? They may have heard something similar, but no two voices are exactly the same.

Oh dear, I'm getting off-track again; we were trying to resonate.

I suppose that's true.

[Something to consider another time, perhaps. Though of course, Anri was quick to accept the blame for their distraction]

No, it's my fault. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to distract us.

No, it's not. I tend to have moments like this. Try to keep them to a minimum, but I can get a little excited at times.

That's okay

[It's quite endearing to witness, even if Anri can't manage the same.

But she needs to focus, and with the conversation making her a little more at ease she finds it a little easier to reach out with her soul, if still hesitant]

Have you been making acquaintances here?

[It's time for some easy questions to help ease Anri a little more. No need to be nervous.]

[Amaterasu's own soul reaches back, brushing a little against Anri's so she can have an example of what a connected link is like]

[That first brush startles her a little but she forces herself not to panic over it. That's not going to help]

Some, yes. And I have a job now.

[Which helps. And she's not sure why she's reporting that to Amaterasu except that she's been helping her from the start and it feels appropriate]

That's great! Getting along with people help makes being here easier.

[There's no move immediately following. Instead, Amaterasu waits again.]

A little, at least

[She'd still almost prefer having friends from home here but it's getting better, a little.

As Amaterasu waits, Anri makes her own tentative push at the connection, even if it doesn't last long. The second time does a little better, lasts a little longer before she draws back.]

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu waits, smiling when Anri establishes the connection this time, and turns when the girl withdraws again. No point in forcing a connect.]

It's nice to have some people there for you. For small discussions and otherwise.

Yes, I think so.

[Though perhaps for a different reason, since for Anri it's more having people to protect her, to hide behind while keeping as much of herself as possible hidden away from them so they'll let her stay.

But this is different. Even if it's unusual having someone else's soul touching hers - that of another living being, not of a demon weapon at least - she has to get past this if she wants to improve enough to defend herself. And so she makes one final push, one final reach because if she can't get used to the connection with Amaterasu, she's not sure who she can get used to it with]

[Hiding might not always be the best answer here, but as long as Anri wanted to, Amaterasu would probably let her.]

[Noticing the girl reaching again, Ammy tilts, recognizing this determination. Picking up a little more cues, she finally reaches forward to fully connect again.]

[This time, she forces herself not to let the connection drop, no matter how strange she finds it. She may not have anyone here she cares for as much as she does in Ikebukuro, but there are people she likes, people she could, perhaps, be pushed to protect.

If nothing else, she needs to be able to protect herself]
