Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

[Can't keep her down too long. Naoto's already back to instruct and watch the shooting range, pacing and occasionally sitting. Her stomach still aches, but the wound itself is mostly healed over, allowing her to transform for short periods of time.]

[Have any questions? Do not hesitate to ask. Bother her and there might be someone else to answer to instead. As for middle ground, it seems like she can be approached for conversation.]

[He was glad she was taking breaks, at least. During one sitting break, he stops behind and lowers an iced latte courtesy of one C.A. Cupid into the detective's field of vision.]

[At Kanji's voice, her eyes open and she's surprised to see the cold beverage before her. Taking hold of it, she blinks and glances back]

An iced latte?

Yup. I had one earlier; it ain't too sweet.

[He leaned and rest his elbows on the back of the chair and looked down at her after a quick glance left then right. Nobody ogling? Good. He'll sneak a peck to her temple, then glance away with a rather warm face.]

'Bout damn time I'm seein' people hit the grindstone as hard as they should around here... but there's a dude playin' dodgeball with whoever he can bean with a ball.

[A small grin.]

That's a kinda training, right? Dodge a ball, dodge a kishin egg.

[pishirogane]

[Considering this, she looks back at the iced latte. She had never considered getting one since they were sweet, but if this was semi-sweet, she guessed it wouldn't hurt.]

[Bringing it to her lips, she starts at the kiss, shooting her head in Kanji's direction. They shouldn't do that in public; he knows that... maybe he had looked around already? Glancing herself, it didn't seem like anyone was looking in their direction. Hm... very well; he got off the hook this time.]

[Taking a sip quietly, Naoto nods, eyes trained on her 'students'. It had been a strange period with no morning training. Nothing else could be done though while people had been in an uproar. Curious how it all settled down as soon as they were saved actually...]

... Dodgeball? ... Yes, there's no real harm should someone be hit.

[You are most merciful, Sensei.]

Heheh... you ever played dodgeball, Naoto? It's a damn bloodsport. That ball stings like hell.

[pishirogane]

Better that it stings and causes superficial injuries.

[She pauses and looks away] No, I haven't.

[A cant of his head and a shrug.]

D-don't worry about it. PE ain't ever all that great anyway. If ya managed to skip it in middle school, you're pretty damn lucky.

I was... I-I was better at Home Ec n' Art, anyway. Always passed those ones.

[pishirogane]

I managed to skip it. [No way was she participating in swimming at school]

[She nods. Kanji would pass those classes considering his skills. Actually, that reminds her of something.] ... Could you perhaps show me? Ah, how to knit or sew I mean...

[He rubbed the back of his head.]

Man, even if I asked, Ma wouldn't'a written a letter or somethin' to lemme skip it. Then again, I was in... uh, y'know, a rough spot in middle school.

[But he blinked then, looking down at her. That was definitely his heart skipping a beat or three before he looked airward.]

Huh? Y-ya really wanna know how?

[pishirogane]

Yes, I know.

[She can only imagine what that's like unfortunately and go off his police record.]

[Naoto nods and looks down, eyes darting to the side]

I would... Sewing is a useful skill a-and both it and knitting could be another activity we do together. Unless your preference is for crocheting instead. [It was crocheting right? The other one with yarn?]

[He still didn't think what he could do was anything special, though he'd be lying if he said it wasn't coming in handy here of all places, where people would make tears in their clothing from training the missions.]

...I-I could teach the lot! Y'know? And nobody can have too many doilies, those really cute little mats to put a coffee or teacup on so ya don't leave a mark on the table, or--

[Ah, but he was sounding too excited. He cleared his throat and took a moment before he nodded, settling down his voice.]

A-anyways... yeah. Let's do it, Naoto.

[pishirogane]

[She has to chuckle slightly when he draws back on his enthusiastic outburst. He's very passionate about what he does... something else similar between them.]

The word you're looking for is coaster.

[She looks at him again, tipping her hat]

I look forward to learning under your tutelage... sensei.

Coaster! Yeah, that's it. That was my next guess.

[And he had extra needles of all different sizes and she could totally keep ones that suited her grip and her style of knit, and he had plenty of yarn and fabr-- fab...

Kanji froze briefly, attempting a few syllables of that word as the color rose in his face, before he hid it against the top of her hat. J-just until his face cools down!!]

Y-yeah, I'll... do my best! [Have a heaping helping of voice-cracks!]

[pishirogane]

[Her words are still power over him; Naoto will have to take care with what she says around him. Of course, that time was a little on purpose.]

[Smiling still as he hid himself, her face turned several shades darker at their proximity. She decided to focus once more on her drink until they could both cool down.]

[It was a few moments spent in an awkward silence, Naoto sipping on an iced latte while Kanji's stupid ostrich maneuver seemed to be unwinding, peeking up from the blue material of that cabbie hat.]

...

[Before he finally lifted his head entirely, a hand rubbing the back of it, ruffling hair unnaturally blond.]

A, uh... a little bird - two birds, actually - told me that we should take another trip somewhere.

[pishirogane]

[It was fine. A little crowding, but she could withstand him of all people in her personal space.]

[She halted her sipping and turned her head back slightly]

A trip? Right now? That would be irresponsible on my part.

They wanted us to roll out as soon as the clinic cut ya loose, but I knew that ain't gonna happen.

...But I think we should, y'know? Give it a couple'a days, then head out for a little while. We had a lotta fun in London.

[pishirogane]

That's an foolish and unreasonable suggestion. I may appear to heal faster, but I still require another day before any such travel.

[Kanji, if she finds out who suggest this... Besides the point now as she paused to consider this.]

... We did. It may seem silly considering we can travel elsewhere, but I have been curious to see Japan here. That would be a waste of a trip though.

...How's that a waste of a trip? I mean, yeah, that's our home country, but it's been a while, yeah? S'wrong with goin' there?

[He looked contemplative for a second, there.]

It's almost the end of season for Hanami, too.

Nothing's wrong. It's just...

[She trailed, remembering that between the two of them, she was the only one to ever see the whole of Japan. Kanji never really left Inaba until now.]

... Yes, they should be having festivals in Hokkaido now. We can go if you would like.

[Tatsumi Port Island wasn't much of a trip, either, especially considering their creepy chaperone.]

Hokkaido... never been. That's way up north, right?

I'm down with a Hokkaido trip, stay a couple nights somewhere nice. Been there before?

[pishirogane]

Yes. Due to it location, the trees don't fully blossom until now.

[She nods]

I have, but that was several years ago... I wouldn't mind going back.

So I'll hit up one'a the computers in the library and look into places to stay... figure out the 'when' tonight?

Yes. It might be a little costly... perhaps we should take another mission before the trip.
