Morning Training

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.

That's correct. Well, unless I use the communicator, but that does take some time.

I see - it is too bad that thou canst not do this with the users here - or meisters, as they call them.

Well, perhaps thou shouldst try wielding me? Extend thy will and mine body will follow!

[It's... probably not the most intuitive weapon to use. Especially for someone without arms, or having seen it in action before]

No I can't. They'll never be fortunate enough to understand what I'm thinking, but that may be for the best.

[Given she's in weapon form now, it's up to Amaterasu to locate such a dummy. In any case, she should be able to move maneuver the obi by though, extending either end of it. Hopefully with enough visualization and willpower, otherwise it'll just kind of fall flat]

[And there's their training dummy. Amaterasu stares at him and feels the ends of the obi rise as her adrenaline did. If the fight was going to commence, she immediately thought of fighting with Kiriha's abnormal weapon form.]

Alright - perhaps I should have demonstrated first, but let us try it! Simply consider me an extension of thy own will, and extend mine length to strike it. It will work even better if you roll up the end a bit so it hath more impact. [Given she's already manipulating the ends of the obi a bit already, Amaterasu should be able to do it]

Ah, I was wondering how that happened.

[The sleeves flopped when she stopped thinking about it, but focused again. Each end of the obi rose again, but didn't move. She looked at both sides, deciding to practice curling the ends back and forth.]

Hmm, yes. I think I could get use to this.

Yes, concentration is key! Though as thou becomes more familiar with it, it should come more naturally.

Oh yes of course!

[That makes all the sense and she's ecstatic about this. She gets both ends of the obi to twist around almost into fist-like shapes and sends the first side to strike the dummy.]

[It hits, though with not a lot of force or accuracy. Still way better than Kazuya's first attempts though.]

Good! Art thou getting a feel for it?

[There's an advantage to the wielder being used to unconventional weaponry.]

Yes I am. It's almost like my rosary, but stronger. [She swings another 'punch' at the dummy, trying to will more power into it.]

Good. And this is only the basics; mine real strength lies in the weaves I can perform to imitate various weapons.

[There's a pretty satisfying smack as it hits the dummy, getting to be as good as unarmed sparring would be for someone fairly strong.]

I see.

[That strike made her ears flick. Very satisfying... She strikes it again, more power behind it.] So, say something like a blade...

A blade is possible, yes, though it be hard to maintain both sharpness and sturdiness. For that it must remain fairly short. [Kazuya had used hand-blades before, but that didn't seem the most practical for the wolf]

For a piercing weapon, thou may curl mine form into a cone, the basis of the Spiral Weave. [AKA a drill]

I see. [Something to try out later]

Oh? Let's try... [She pulls the ends back and looks between them, thinks about turning it into a drill.]

[The two ends start to twist together in a sort of drill shape, but it's kind of messy and loose. Still, it sort of gets the general shape...]

Well, it take a bit of practice to get used to weaving the different shapes - and of course, thou must learn to do so in an instant for it to be useful in combat.

Yes. This would require practice were we planning to pair together.

And... dost thou thinketh thou wilt consider it? Though it may seem clumsy at this point, thou truly seemeth to have an aptitude for weilding mine form.

[Though the idea of being the weapon of Amaterasu herself is a bit nerve-wracking]

Yea, that could work well. Of course, after a bit more practice.

[She disengages, popping off Amaterasu and returning to her human form with ease]

Shall I show thee some of the basic weaves then?

[Amaterasu looks up at Kiriha, now Weaponless again. Her tail wags at the mention of basics]

Arf! [She would appreciate the show.]

First, there is the Spiral Weave, like thou wert making- [She extends a length of obi from behind her back, directing it with her hand as it forms a wide drill] This is a good basic form, as it doth not require complex weave and is fairly sturdy and powerful while giving piercing power as well. And as thou learns to control more branches, thou canst easily reinforce it.

[A second extension of Obi follows the first, simply tracing the same spiral around and reinforcing the drill]

[Ohh, that's how it worked? She nodded, her eyes focused intently on the lesson. And reinforcing the drill, uh huh... That made sense and would work.]

And probably one of the most useful weaves is the Shield Weave.

[The drill uncurls quickly and she moves the ends, actually weaving it this time, into a large, square sheet]

Even though it be made of cloth, it's quite strong and resilient to most attacks - though sufficiently powerful tsukumogami and amasogi may be able to pierce it with their attacks; I suppose other weapons here and witches may be equivalent? Thou canst reinforce it as such: Double Layer Shield Weave!

[She forms a second layer as well as a structure of reinforcements between the two layers]

Though that will likely take a bit of practice before it cometh naturally to thee.
