Morning Training!

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on July 8th.

[Naoto's had better days. She isn't ill, but part of her wish she was. Placing a hand on her chest, she furrowed her brows as her heart picked up in its palpitations. Her body was still incorporating the high volume of energy terribly and she knew it wouldn't change until they got their Witch soul. Until then, it was all vying for some semblance of dominance and maybe lend Naoto an ability.]

[A bark made her open her eyes and she gasped, looking at Watson. Raising her hand, she pet the steadily growing pup.]

I'm okay... [Not really, but she can fake it.]

[Looks like she's not planning on moving from her spot soon. Why not strike up a conversation?]

[Along comes a frog with an umbrella. Keroro isn't going to get too close because of the dog, but he can still look concerned even while standing far enough to get a head start if the dog attacks him with its wet nose.]

Um. Is there something wrong, de arimasu?

[Fortunately, the puppy is content with getting his belly rubs right now. Looking over at Keroro while the Rottweiler is busy, she sighed]

Somewhat. It will be corrected soon.

You're sure? Do you want some water? Or shade?

[He takes a tentative step forward because he only has that one umbrella.]

No, no, I'm hydrated and it isn't too warm right now so I'm fine without shade.

[Watson is watching the frogman intensely.]

[Why does this always happen with him and dogs.........]

Uh. Good, de arimasu. Um. I have some cold tea, so if you'd like it...

[He'll just roll it over. He's not walking any closer.]

[She doesn't know... he's only a big puppy.]

[Watching the thermos roll over with some mild confusion.]

[Raidou was warming up for a mission when he spotted Naoto. Frowning slightly, he approached the younger detective.]

Shirogane-san? Are you feeling unwell?

[pishirogane]

[She cringed slightly. Raidou wasn't someone she wanted to know exactly.]

You could say that... but I'll be fine.

[timelessummoner]

[He sat next to her and pet Watson idly.]

Are you sure you should be outside? You look pale. [This heat wasn't exactly pleasant, either...]

[Watson is getting more idle pets. He doesn't know whether to be happy or more confused.]

Maybe I picked up something in Iceland... [It's not.]

I see... Perhaps a break would be in order. You and Tatsumi-san have been working hard.

[What is it, over 90 souls now?]

Maybe... It's difficult to stop once you're nearly there though.

[It will be after today.]

[ .. Oh! Hey, it's someone he recognizes. Especially since this person told him to come talk about that whole Persona thing later, so he's heading over.. but it's halfway through that his intentions change a little. Somehow it's like she doesn't look entirely good.. maybe not ill, but.. what? He just blinks. ]

Yo, got a problem?

[Did he have to decide now of all times? Maybe she should skip training until this is all done.]

Under the weather, that's all.

Hah, in the middle of summer?! That just makes it sound like you have the shittiest luck ever! Don't colds and all that shit usually wait until fall?

My immune system hasn't been compromised since being here beyond getting bitten by someone and being poisoned by a giant rat.

[He was glad she'd let him in on it, really. As someone who typically suffers in private himself, he knew how she felt about not wanting to make waves, not be a burden to someone. But there came a time when everybody had to finally to turn to someone for some kind of help.]

[He'd been keeping a closer eye after he knew, and after each mission it seemed to be getting worse, troubling him just as much as it did her. How would she be at 95? 98? 99? He had to be ready for anything. But today she was dead set on instructing like usual, and they had a mission to head out to later. He knew she'd never cancel it, and he knew it would be riskier to hold off reaching their goal, prolonging her symptoms. To get his hands on a slice of veggie quiche was a mission to bring her something she might like, if anything to take the mind off. He found her not far from where they'd parted for him to fetch something to eat, and he kept his spirits high. No use lookin' hangdog. Maybe it'll rub off. He settled at her side and at first thought about offering the food, but-]

...Yo.

[-No use bringing too much attention to her condition. Instead, he offered a hand to her.]

Watson's gettin' pretty big, ain't he?

[While he's snagging the quiche, she spoke to several individuals that seemed to have notice her condition. She managed to avoid answering any actual questions, changing the subject, but when a pulse made her want to cough, she just had to choke it down.]

[Kanji sitting down besides her, Watson bounded back and barked. Before he can try getting the quiche, Naoto told him to sit. Immediately, he sat. She stared for a moment, but then turned to Kanji and offered her hand back.]

He is. A few months and he'll be considered fully grown.

O-oi, Wats-- [Shit, the puppy! Little guy was an eating machine and here he was with a treat! But Naoto was quick on the draw and the puppy plunked his little butt down. Despite giving the most betrayed 'but I'm STARVING' look that at times duped Kanji, his concerns made him immune to the mooch.]

[Kanji grasped the offered hand and slowly offered soul energy, at first feeling like he touched a metallic surface and received a hefty shock, and his heart skipped around, syncing in her heart palpitations. As he swallowed, he continued to ease his way, establishing the connection. The Weapon may be the amp to a Meister's power, but the Meister was the scale and guide. With too many people around, he settled for a surreptitious stroke of a thumb against the back of her hand.]

Yeah, I was thinkin' of pickin' up a bigger collar. The one he's got's gettin' a little snug.

[With a glance her way, he then offered the plate. Resonance was one thing, but maybe a little bite to eat would help her feel better too.]

[Quickened pulse and breathing slowed, allowing Naoto to finally release a slow and controlled breath. A few more souls... just a few more souls to go before she could breathe easier, hopefully. The thumb stroking helped Naoto continue controlling this pattern.]

We could spare an hour to look at new ones before we have to leave.

[Her other hand took the plate and she shot a look at Watson. He had been giving the plate 'the look', but now that she stared, he turned his head away, pretending to not be interested.]

[They had a busy day today, that much was true, but as his eyebrows gently knit he had bigger concerns in mind. He'd thought talking about the puppy might help, but she really was trying her best to power through it, wasn't she?]

Maybe tomorrow. ...You're pretty pale t'day.

[The frown firmed.]

We should head back home, and have ya take it easy for a bit.

[She shook her head, but then stared at the ground, hat brim obscuring her eyes]

... You may be right.

[She turned her hand over, frowning. Naoto didn't think she looked any paler than usual. Though, she didn't want to think there was anything wrong with her. Are they taking the missions too fast?]
