Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on July 8th.

[It couldn't be good that she was letting him feel what she did, experience the physical toil her push was taking. It didn't seem like the other Deathscythe had this experience, but he probably didn't just race out and consume multiple souls on each mission. It... would probably be best if she didn't attend training until their Witch's Soul was in her grasp.]

[Glancing up at Kanji, her expression said nothing, but her eyes betrayed her. He was worried; she didn't mean to do that to him. If he wanted her to take it easy after each mission, she would. Naoto would stop instructing and practicing until this was in control. They should simply focus on resonating and balancing the new energy. He could practice, but she should pull back.]

[That might be what the proverbial doctor ordered or however the phrase goes. Kanji wasn't good at that kinda stuff. But the trip back was generally quiet, the only energetic one of the group being Watson, bounding his way home and loving the attention he was getting, strangers raising their voices an octave and saying hello to the puppy.]

[It wasn't until they got into the foyer and he checked the mail that he finally spoke up, pulling a manila envelope from the box, addressed to... the both of them. From Japan. Weird.]

...Man, the hell do we do? Ya think anybody up in Shibusen'd have a way to help out all the shit swirlin' around in the soul?

[Watson may have noticed how it was between them, but yes, people cooing and saying hello did draw his attention away even if he was becoming apprehensive.]

[Waiting patiently as Kanji got the mail (a manila envelope?), she turned her head up again at his question]

The only one I could think of asking is Stein-sensei. Though, Albarn-san or Shinigami-sama are options too, but they may not be as readily available to speak to.

[Normally Kanji would cringe, but after so many Soul Menace lessons with him he'd gotten used to the creepy presence. He had to wonder, however, who better to speak than a Weapon themselves. Unfortunately, Azusa had business in Tokyo and flew out from what he'd heard.]

Liz n' Patty or Soul, too. They're all Deathscythes livin' in the city now and rose up recently. I think one'a my usual classes have the sisters in 'em, or just one... Patty, I think?

[He waited until they were in the apartment and he freed Watson to bound about that he had a fully free hand. The envelope was torn with his teeth, and with two fingers he pried the thing open to peek inside.]

[His eyebrows rose, but he quickly shut the envelope.]

A-anyways, so we got some options then, I think.

[Naoto wouldn't mind speaking to Azusa really. Patty was... well, her definition of help was interesting]

If anyone out of those three, I'd prefer Liz-san.

[Watson free meant getting at everything mainly his toys were were becoming well worn.]

[Naoto turned in confusion when Kanji closed the envelope]

[He knew exactly why, but wouldn't utter a peep in regards. Liz was the better option to get a straight answer out of.]

[But for now he let that go and almost hid the envelope behind his back. But she'd seen it, and it was dumb to play it off now. He turned bright red and looked away.]

...Th-the damn school we visited, took out their bathroom ghoul problem.

[The paper crinkled, but he passed the envelope to her.]

They had a freakin' doujinshi club!

[There was no way he was hiding it now.]

I'm not surprised that they--

[... Wait. Taking the envelope, she's become a little unnerved about the contents. A... doujinshi club...? Reaching in, she pulled the contents out slowly as her eyes narrowed.]

[It was one thing to peek inside, but another to see the cover in its full magnificent glory. They had indeed attracted the attention of that school's doujinshi club and were so kind to receive a complimentary copy of the finished product. Locked in a noir universe was a petite male detective with a soft face and larger eyes and a very angular, aggressive-looking assistant. The corner, marked 18+ Adult Only, told them everything they needed to know about the contents. Kanji hadn't seen the warning and burned a brighter red.]

Holy crap- That's...th-that's a freakin' porno comic with us in it! How old were these kids!?

[It's bad, but good... the art is anyway, but just the fact that there was a doujinshi of them was bad. Really? She turned it around and back to the front, speechless.]

... We were barely even there. [Completely missing the age point. She's somewhat curious about the contents. Since they didn't know Naoto was female (they didn't, right?), was it a boy love then?]

We kinda stand out. [Answered gruffly, but distracted. The art's not half bad, but whoever drew it could do with a little anatomy practice. The assistant guy looks a lot like him, but he wasn't wearing THAT many piercings. But they got one thing right- Naoto was seriously pretty, but it looked like they'd called 'boy' for this comic.]

[She opened it up and he didn't even wanna look. But three pages in and he huddled in a little closer to peer over her shoulder at the contents. Okay, so this one's got kinduva plot, that's good. But for how long...?]

True, but still, there were more important matters... [Did she really look that pretty? How on earth did her disguise hold up at all? This was terrible; maybe she should look into make-up to make her appear more masculi-- no. She was supposed to be coming out.]

[Naoto read fast, flipping from one page to the next and--]

... They're imaginative. [The Kishin egg wasn't at all like that. A tentacle monster? What is even happening anymore?]

[He wasn't the slowest reader, but it was tough to keep up with her. Ah, but it was less about the plot and more about what you're looking at, right?]

No, it... it looked like a girl, yeah? Like in those creepy-ass movies!

[But was he hooked? Maybe a little. If anything he wanted to know where the hell they were going with all this. But tentacles... ugh, come on, don't bring tentacles into this.]

It did, but artistic license...

[Seriously, they don't look like how they're drawn either... Kanji anyway. Dammit.]

[Next page and... clothes are being ripped away. Of course... some fighting, some fighting, restraining... explicit. Becoming quite explicit. The fight had been thirty minutes maybe? These high schoolers had too much time.]

[Explicit didn't even cover it. He'd been the one fighting in that bathroom against the ghoul-tentacle-whatever! So there he was, watching himself be... toyed with by a tentacle monster.]

Uhh, th-tha-that's enough of that! I'm gonna throw it away!

[Explicit, explicit... she's not telling Kanji what's happening to her right now. It ends soon enough... it seems. Somehow it's defeated? It appears she's done it and now cleaning u--] There was not enough time to do that. [She would not do that in a-- wait. Dammit, but it wasn't the bathrooms and covered in... egg goop to put it politely.]

[He seemed stunned to momentary silence. She was eager to throw away the girls' reports in the hospital quickly enough, but here she was flipping pages and aiming to finish the story. His face was burning and things were taking a turn toward the strange; apparently this story-him hadn't had enough after the fight with the monster and had turned to his partner for some form of... relief, which he seemed rather happy to give.]

[It didn't help that the air was arid in the desert city, but it was like a dam had sprung a leak. With a surprised squawk from Kanji he backed off before the story could end, turning away and clapping a hand over his nose.]

F-fuck-!

[Happy to give... maybe she was jealous? Still, no. Naoto glanced over at Kanji from the squawk, but then turned back to the fan comic. Oh, look at that. She was indeed a boy. Sighing, she closed it and set it aside]

A story like that can't really sell, right? [She grabbed the tissue box from the side table and placed it in Kanji's lap.]

[So used to bleeds he already leaned and hung his head, accepting the tissues with a quick word of thanks before doing a bit of maintenance.]

You'd be surprised... y'had a buncha fangirls goin' inta school, remember?

That's typical. I've never been drawn into a fan comic and now, it's both of us in a porn of all things.

Uhh, well- y'know, I just figure that you'd want somethin' flattering is all, like a sketch or whatever!

Uh, no? W-well, it ain't necessary, yeah, but...

[He shrugged stiffly, lowering the tissues before raising them again.]

...I'm pretty pissed, myself. 'Somebody recognizes me enough to draw me, but they gotta draw me gettin' violated by a dumb-ass tentacle monster. What gives? That ain't flattering!'

I guess I figured you kinda felt the same, or somethin' like it.

Well, being violated by tentacles was only part of the overall story. They were more invested in us... well...

[He knows very well what.]

... A painting would've definitely been more preferred as a thank you gift.
