Morning Training!

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on July 8th.

.. I absolutely don't mind dealing with any of that. [ After all, life is always struggle, always survival. But if she'd reach her goals, then she at least wouldn't be alone in it - and that would make it worth it. ]

To reach my goal, I wouldn't even mind plunging myself into the depths of hell. It's just sitting around and being unable to do anything that I hate. It's why I despise this place.

So you're not gonna do anything, here, that could possibly make BREW want to send you back instead of keeping you here? [ Of course, he wasn't talking crimes or murders, but, you know - honorable stuff. Who knew what BREW was looking for, here, really. ]

BREW's a machine, there's no use in feeling bitter at the thing, it doesn't register emotions.

[ She's actually already thought about this a lot. After all, what else is there to do for her here? Masako has never been social and doesn't know a single thing at all about having fun, so of course all she can think about is trying to figure out how to get home, back to important things. ]

I can't rely on BREW's whims. The only way for it to send us all home for sure.. it would be to end this war. So that's precisely what I am intending on doing.

Single handedly? Good luck. [ After all, even in his world he'd had to have teammates, and they weren't really required in order to be more powerful. They already had gundams, and it took five pilots and five gundams to get things done. ]

If I have to, yes.

[ It's not any different from what she's used to. Trying to do completely impossible things all by herself.. ]

I'm used to working on my own. After all, the person you can rely the most on in the end is yourself.

That may just get you killed, and then who knows if you'll even go back to your world? [ He'd thought about that plenty, any time he'd thought about trying anything stupid in order to try and accomplish something in the city. Duo hadn't fought so long in the world in order to die here and never go back. ]

.. I can't be crushed.

[ It's not "can't" as in that it's impossible, although it might sound that way, but it's more "can't" as in that she can't allow herself to be crushed - she has too much riding on her actions back home to do that. She can't die before she saves her brothers somehow. ]

I can't say I particularly like my grandfather, but if there's one thing he taught me, it's that.

So you're stubborn, is what you're telling me. [ But he smirks, clearly entertained by that, if not agreeing with his own assessment of her, for the moment. That much he can respect, considering that was what he had resolved for himself shortly before the war, and shortly before he'd managed to weedle his way in to piloting Deathscythe. ]

Not a bad thing to decide, really. But it can also land you in big trouble, if you don't know when to take a step back, for a minute.

[ Stubborn, huh.. well, she can't exactly deny that. ]

You could put it that way. But.. [ .. she breathes, finally releasing at least some tension she had been holding back so badly all this time. ] .. I don't care. Even if I end up in trouble.. that is fine. I've already been ready to cast myself into hell since a long time ago.

So was I... But then I met a few really unexpected friends and realized that life was way more important than all that other crap.

.. You're so carefree. How typical.

[ "Typical" as in she thinks everyone who isn't her is just like that.. since she's so focused on her own duties and responsibilities that she can't even look far away enough to see that other people have them too. ]

Typical? Not so much for a child soldier, but nice try anyway. [ He wasn't quite sure he'd ever been told he was 'carefree' before. Annoying, yes, loud, definitely. But carefree? Not quite. ]

[huntressing]

[ .. Child soldier. Huh. She doesn't seem to fazed by the news, since she practically made herself into a child soldier when she was just a little kid, so to her it's actually a normal thing. Still, it does mean that he shouldn't be.. well, the way he is in her eyes. ]

So what is your attitude supposed to be for then? Coping so you won't lose your mind?

Maybe. It's ugly when I'm not smiling, though I'm not sure the guys who've seen it are entirely in the shape to talk about it. [ More than likely, their pieces were still floating in space, but he wasn't going to say that. Instead he leans back, casually, shrugging his shoulders casually. ]

Mostly, though, I see no point in focusing on the nasty things in life, when there's... you know.. life to look forward to. I got a taste of it and like hell am I not gonna get out of here in order to get a little chunk of that peace for myself.

... Getting a chunk of peace.. that's what everyone is working for.

[ Or, well, towards their own personal goal that they believe will bring them to happiness - in Masako's eyes it is what everyone is working for, or what they should at least work for. But.. ]

That doesn't mean you should allow yourself to grow complacent in the meantime.

Maybe. Not every place has 'good' people in it. [ He moves his hands to make quotes for 'good', clearly recognizing that it might be a valued judgement, to say the least, determining what was good and what was bad in the world. That much he was sure of. ]

Just because a person doesn't spend their time sitting around whining about their situation doesn't mean they're complacent. They just don't feel the need to waste time feeling sorry for themselves or frustrated with the situation.

That doesn't have anything to do with it. [ After all, whining is unproductive, but so is-- ] Just look at how the people live in this place. As if they think it is normal - like they are just living their normal life! They aren't even thinking of how to get back to their actual lives anymore.

[braidedwonder]

Or maybe they're just being content at the fact that they have jobs, homes that aren't shanties or a cardboard box in an alleyway if they're lucky, and food in their stomachs. [ He raises a brow, then, the little orphan child from L2 coming back through for a moment to remind him that as long as he was alive, had a roof and some food, life was damn good and there wasn't really room to complain. ]

You like to complain whenever you can, uh?

[ Maybe she takes the last part a little more personally than she usually would thanks to her mood, but she does seem pretty pissed to hear it. If gazes could kill, Duo would have dropped dead already by now. In a pretty painful way to boot. ]

As if you would understand..! I'll find my way home, and it isn't anyone else's business but mine! [ Because nobody can understand her. It's what she convinced herself of a long time ago. Nobody but her twin brother. ]

[ Duo is probably pretty infuriating for her, a bit of a bemused smile settling on his face. He's not really all that flustered by her reaction, but then again, he'd probably faced much worse people in much worse situations than telling someone that they might be complaining a little too much.

... Plus, he couldn't count the amount of times he'd gotten that look from his more quiet comrades, mainly Heero. ]

If it's no one's business but yours, you're awful willing to talk about it. [ A shrug. ] Besides, I've yet to meet a person where their goal, at the end of the day, isn't going home.

I.. I'm just talking about it since you're being so awfully insistent!

[ Ah, there we go. At least now she isn't entirely calm and collected anymore like she is the majority of the time, there's at least some other weaknesses visible - that sounded an awful lot like just a tsundere line, huh. ]
