Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 4th.

[The little blond girl goes by, stops and takes a second look and Hamel's red eyes focus in on her like a lazer. Really she doesn't look like much but Flute doesn't either and she makes an impressive weapon. His own personal wrecking ball.]

Damn straight it is, and nearly everyone's already got a partner so I gotta get the word out if I want to make any money on this gig.

[His look is again assessing.]

I felt the same way when I first arrived as well but there are actually a lot of people around that don't have a permanent partner and some are even looking for multiple partners.

[She huffs a little] Well yes. [She transforms an arm into her blade] I'm a scimitar.

Pfft. Multiple partners. Good to know I guess. I didn't realize that was an option.

[Must get serious again. MONEY IS INVOLVED.]

I just need the one so I can make some money.

[Oh! He didn't know they change just parts either. Which raises some interesting and distracting questions. ...

Time to get back on track. Hamel can use a sword but he's no Trom. This does not dissuade him.]

Woah! You got a partner sweetheart?

Well, they do try to push you to finding a more permanent arrangement.

[This guy's personality is kind of abrasive, she's not sure what to make of it just yet even if the last part kind of seemed like a compliment in a kind of obnoxious way]

I have two somewhat regular partners, thanks for asking. But I'm not averse to working with others.

[Hamel strikes a pose and waits a few beats for a breeze to ruffle his hair. It does it the wrong way and some ends up in his mouth, he spits it out and pretends that was supposed to happen.] I'm a traveler permanent isn't in my vocabulary!

[He turns a somewhat interested eye back at her though.] Two already huh? I got nothing else to do. Wanna try?

[Nanami just sweatdrops, this guy sure was strange. Well someone had to break this guy in, she might as well give it a crack. The more people she resonated with the better she'd be in Soul Menace class.]

All right, we can at least test resonance. Did you want to put down your bass for this?

Bass? [He looks at his hands and then at her looking baffled.]

.... you know... that large stringed instrument you have strapped to your back?

[Seriously, she's starting to regret offering to resonate with him]

[That earns her an annoyed look like she might be dumb.]

It's a violin.

[She returns the same annoyed look]

That. Is not a violin. That has to be a 4/4 double bass, I play bass I should know.

This is totally a violin! Are you stupid? A bass has a big old peg sticking out the bottom. [Now his hands are on his hips and one lifts to point at her.]

Right a violin, one you hold like this. [She mimics playing a NORMAL SIZED VIOLIN] How do you hold something so HUGE like THIS?

[Hamel unstraps the violin and pulls it over his shoulder by the neck, settling it on his shoulder without any shoulder rest because shoulder rests are for pussies. His bow flips around once like a baton and he draws the bow across the strings in what is clearly a treble clef chromatic scale. The tone, for anyone who plays stringed instruments, is ridiculously higher pitched than anything of it's size ought to be.]

[And Nanami's mouth gapes, wtf that's weird how could something with such long and large strings sound that high pitched? She stares at him and then pinches her arm. Nope, not some crazy dream.]

That's... what. [And she just frowns at him]

[Olin's inventions never really make much sense Hamel just rolls with it.]

A violin.

[Because seriously, what kind of crazy person wants to carry around a giant violin on their backs. Well this person clearly]

It is what it is. We gonna do this or what? [He sets the violin aside and holds out a hand.]

Don't make me regret this and don't swing me around a lot, I'm still recovering from an injury. Also, I don't like when people watch me transform so just look away for a moment and then we can do this.

[Nanami has got to stop doing this without even knowing a name...]

[Hamel stares at her like she's grown a third head as she starts bossing him around. He's the meister. He gets to boss doesn't he? He's pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work. And what's this about not watching?]

Don't watch? You get naked or something?

[oh god, but it sure as hell feels like it]

J..just close your eyes and count to three no five, think of it as an exercise in trust. Mess this up and kiss your chance goodbye.

Well why the hell can't I watch then? I saw that other guy turn into an awesome gun thing.

[His eye twitches in irritation. Caught between wanting to yell at her and not wanting a weapon to run off untested he grits his teeth trying to appease her.]

This is so stupid.

[He closes his eyes and starts counting out loud.]

1....2.....3.....[He can't help it and squints one eye open]

It's just a personal preference okay?!

[And Nanami was just about to transform when he hit three until she saw that one eye pop open and the look he gets when she catches it...]

Are you serious? I can totally see you peaking!

It's dumb preference. [That was at least mumbled more to himself than to her.]

What? [Both eyes open and he vibrates irritation.] You're taking too damn long! Hop to it!
