Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 4th.

[ The heat is impossible, she thinks. But that doesn't stop Saya from coming to the morning training, run laps, do some push-ups, punch a bag and finally rest under a tree.

Now that she has some time, she grabs a book - one of the many detective novels she has - to read it as she rests. ]

[Lily typically has breakfast at her apartment before she shows up to do her gardening work at the park. But with her late return the night before and waking up later than usual, there hadn't been time for even a cup of coffee.]

[So, she helps herself to some espresso from the breakfast area and then moves to the shade of a tree to drink it. The tree that Saya is sitting under.]

Good book?

[Lily's never talked to the pink-haired girl before but she smiles and tries to be friendly. Might as well practice making small talk while she sips her coffee.]

[ Saya was so focus on the story that she doesn't even notice Lily approaching. Only when she speaks, the girl rises her head ]

Ah-

yes, I didn't expect it to be this good, to be honest. [ with titles that add "Death" and other morbid suffixes, everything sounds a bit ridiculous instead of impressing, after a while. ]

Oh? What's it about? I could use some new reading material...

[With Kanji doing nearly all of the repairs for the shop these days and no spells to work, Lily found most of her evenings free after dinner other than the occasional interruption by the nuisance next door.]

It's a detective novel about a Buddhist monk. [ she hands Lily the book so she can see the name and cover. ]

About revenge and murder.

Now, there's a combination you don't see everyday... [She chuckles as she takes the book and scans the cover before handing it back, careful not to spill her espresso.]

Can't say that I've heard of it before. The detectives I know of are more along the lines of Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.

[She'd have to visit the bookstore and take a look around sometime. A novel or two would give her something to keep her occupied in the evenings.]
