Morning Training Log

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 4th.

[Or cuddling! But this is punching time! Amaterasu waited again for any potential sparring people with the usual assortment of weapons: round wood shield, whip, and wooden sword. Who wanted to play today?]

Here comes a challenger!

I suppose we could attempt this again, my lady. *says the dhampir*

Why hasn't Alucard been in SSB?

[Amaterasu looks and nods. Sure, they can try this again.]

Clearly he is too bad ass.

[draculabackwards]

I shall have to try the sword again and ponder how to get past your guard.

Haha, yup

[motherofthesun]

[Alright, then she'll take the sword as primary to change things up.]

[draculabackwards]

*Maybe if he takes the shield, this might work. Or he might be outclassed. We'll see.*

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu tilts her head as Alucard takes the shield, but alright. The roles can be reversed.]

[draculabackwards]

*He can be stabbed in the shins for fun.*

If you're quite ready, let's begin. *Even in the early morning it was already way too hot to be fighting but continual training was the key.*

[motherofthesun]

[This might not be in his best interests right now so she'll make this as fast as possible.]

[A few steps and she breaks into a sudden sprint, zipping back into a zig-zag as she charges Alucard]

*Maybe he'd do a better job. Trying to use a small weapon against a wolf was difficult, but a shield had a larger surface area AND it was easier to throw his whole body against it for leverage.

Plus, Alucard has had a lot of experience using shields and he steps aside, taking the strike on the shield.*

[motherofthesun]

[It's a hit and run honestly. She wanted to get an idea of what he would do and turns around, huffing. Ammy begins pacing around, seeing how he holds the shield and looking for ways around it. Plenty, but she'll have to be much, much faster to hit.]

[She breaks into a run.]

*Alucard is quite used to wearing immensely large and broad shields. This is fairly light by comparison and it allows him to move faster. He uses the shield like a blunt object, blocking her attack and attempting to attack in turn by lashing out with his feet at her own.*

[motherofthesun]

[That's how a shield should be use besides defense. Still, he's using his legs. She notices the pattern soon enough and begins hitting his feet with the wooden sword when he kicks out.]

[draculabackwards]

*Fortunately it's just a wooden sword so it doesn't do as much damage. He still will have interesting bruises on his legs.*

Fine then. I will need to try something else.

[motherofthesun]

Wruf!

[That's right. She proceeds to just circling around, watching him closely and waiting for whatever he decides to do now.]

[draculabackwards]

*If he had his normal speed, he would definitely be able to go toe-to-toe with the wolf. As it was now, he would have to try something else. Even now, he had the advantage of height. Perhaps he should do more with that and less trying to cut her down where it's more difficult.*

Here I come! *This time he rushes with the shield weapon, trying to get in fast so there's not enough room for her to get a full swing.*

((OOC: She carries all weapons on her back, right?))

[This is sparring; he shouldn't announce his attack. She doesn't swing, but dodges, snorting at him. No no no, Alucard. Silent attacks! Silent!]

(OOC: Yes, she does. And sorry for the delay!)

*It seems that as he gets more used to his shield weapon, he's not telegraphing his moves. He even feints once, taking into account how fast Ammy can move her body.*

[motherofthesun]

[Ah, he's getting better. Good... and yes, she does move fast, but what was the advantage of having four feet now. Moving back several paces, she's circling again, waiting for him to move.]

[draculabackwards]

*If Alucard cannot move with the speed he used to possess, the next thing he can do is predict what Ammy will do based on what he's doing. He tries feinting again, just to see how fast she moved. He's beginning to understand her more and more.*

[motherofthesun]

[She doesn't move this time at the feint. Instead, she springs directly at him, paws pressing against the shield he holds and kicking off it.]

[draculabackwards]

*Alucard is surprised by this move but digs his feet into the ground and is strong enough to absorb the hit. However, his muscles will probably be hurting later on.* Clever, my lady.

[motherofthesun]

[She snorted, springing back a few steps. Very good on him repelling her. Crouching again, her tail swirled and her shoulders hunched forward. Come now, they still had some time.]

[draculabackwards]

*Even though it was hot and this was tiring work, it was also rewarding as well. Enough so that when Ammy tried to smack him with the wooden sword, Alucard caught it on his shield and tried to use his height to his advantage. Namely to try to subdue the wolf by getting an arm around her neck and forcing her down. Would it work?*
