Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 4th.

MY DEAREST RIVAL!!

[The shout precedes the massive glomp Lee traps Neji in a moment later. Even if Neji likes to keep a strict No PDA rule when it came to their "relationship" there was nothing wrong with giving his rival a hug in public. After all, Lee had been doing this for a long time.]

[The shout is only just enough time to brace himself and then he has an armful of his teammate, latched onto him like a particularly enthusiastic limpet. As if they hadn't woken up warm and comfortable in the same bed this morning.

Gently, he works to extricate himself from Lee's adamant embrace. If Lee hadn't been known for his overzealous displays of affection, he would've worried about other's impressions about them]

Good morning, Lee.

[Lee chuckled, allowing Neji to pull away. If he wanted to keep Neji in his arms he probably could have put up a fight, but this was not the place for that.

Straightening back up, Lee gave Neji a huge grin.] Good morning! You seemed a little sullen over here, so I thought I would come to cheer you up!

[He can guess why Neji isn't in a bad mood. It wasn't like even Gai-sensei made an effort to be happy about Excalibur hanging around...]

[A breath of a sigh. The morning doesn't bode well for the rest of his day so far and even after years of training alongside Lee, he still doesn't understand the cheer that comes so easily to his upbeat teammate]

I can only pray this doesn't become routine.

[awokentospring]

I guess we shall have to see. [Lee shrugs.] Perhaps we can ask him to help inspire the new weapons every now and then?

[Or put them to sleep with his long-ass sermons. Whichever.]

Ah, but I also came over to ask if you were feeling up for another mission soon? [Lee glanced towards the arm where Neji had been bitten recently, his smile softening a bit. It hadn't been nearly as bad an injury as Lee had feared.] There is one place in particular that seems to have a rash of similar Kishin Eggs sprouting up. Perhaps we could visit and lessen some of the weight there.

[Neji lifts a shoulder in a mild shrug as well, but the prospect of a mission captures his attention, even as Lee's eyes stray to his admittedly careless injury]

I can't think of anything I need to do that requires my immediate attention at the present moment, so that sounds ideal. My arm is well enough to wield you without issue.

[Lee nods, pleased with the answer. Still, he holds out his hand.]

Perhaps we should practice a bit, then? Just a few swings. I know you should be focused on questions should anyone have them.

[He nods, glancing around a final time for anyone seeming out of sorts, then grasps Lee's hand with his own]

I'd rather not field complaints about Excalibur-san. [But his focus turns inward, reaching for their bond and the solid connection there that eases some of his disquiet]

[Lee feels warmth trail from his fingertips up his arm then spread through his chest, something unrelated to the fingers grasping his and even something a little beyond resonance. But he focuses on that part, relaxing into their bond, then transforms. It's sudden but no longer disorienting when he becomes a set of green nunchaku, one of his batons just reaching the earth from where he dangles from Neji's hand.]

Then let us keep it brief. Just a short set, then?

[Neji hums an affirming note, setting the chain and free baton into a slow rotation that gradually picks up speed, then changes hands, spinning now in the opposite direction. The baton catches on his shoulder, and he swiftly grasps it behind him, twirling and weaving his Weapon through sets of rapid movements.

His bitten arm is a fraction slower than usual, but what it lacks in strength he makes up in pure determination so that his hands and arms don't miss a beat between the increasing speed and complexity of the movements.

It's not a weapon he's accustomed to using, but there's no denying the strength and capability he feels with Lee in his hands. With an echo of their mentor's finesse, he finishes with a sharp tug on the chain, batons horizontal in front of him, held loosely in the controlling fingers of each hand]

No problems wielding you.. We can go whenever you'd like.

[Lee has a different perception while in his Weapon form but he keeps his focus on Neji. The way his rival's hands are soft when he grips the batons while still strong and firm. There is also their spiritual connection. Lee doesn't sense any pain, even if the transitions aren't as smooth as they could be. Still, it's a well-done set and Lee has no objections after the short exercise.

He returns to normal, his fingers twined with Neji's just a moment before he lets go and give an approving hum.]

No discomfort in you, so I think a mission is definitely in order! Shall I run by the board and sign us up once training has been squared away?

[Neji nods, feeling better for the light exercise, though he finds himself missing that connection suddenly]

I should give Auron at least a day's notice of my absence, so sign us up to leave for tomorrow, I suppose.

[Lee nods, beaming.]

Excellent! I shall do that!

[But before he runs off and allows Neji the rest of training to take questions...]

Did you want me to make dinner tonight, or should we get take-out?

[He considers it]

Take-out would likely be best for this evening. I'm going to begin to draw up a few profiles.

Alright! I shall grab something from that Chinese place we like! Or perhaps we should get GraveWay sandwiches? They have something that is called Spicy and Italian that is really good!

[Neji hums a short moment, deliberating between the two in probably the least taxing decision he'd make all day]

I'm rather fond of the Chinese, but sandwiches might be good for a change.

[Lee beams.] Chinese is very good! But I agree! A change is good! Do you have a preferred sandwich or would you like to just split one with me?

[He shrugs]

So long as it's not spicy, I don't mind. Just get me something you think I'll like. Get whatever you want for yourself, however.

[Ah, well, that meant no sharing. But Lee nodded.]

Alright then! Now, I suppose I will get back to the rest of the Brigade.

[Neji hesitates, then makes up his mind]

Before that, I need your opinion on something, Lee.

[ Well then, here he was. That morning training that had been mentioned to him a while ago. He's been putting it off, just watching it from afar for a few days, but finally he decides to come closer, and actually...possibly, join. He sure needs to practice controlling this..weapon form, and he wasn't doing so well on his own. So, now he's approaching Neji (he knows he's part of the Watch, but he has to talk to them eventually), to find out a bit more about what was going on.

There is no way that he is going to get near that weird white-looking whatever-it-is without being forced to, what if it was dangerous? ]

Hi~ Mind if I ask you some questions?

[Neji looks over toward the newcomer, finding him vaguely familiar, and relieved it doesn't look like he'll be fielding complaints about Excalibur]

Certainly. I'm stationed here for that purpose.
