Morning Training

Location: Training Ground, Shibusen
Rating: PG-13 for violence
Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.

"Now a coincidence, neither do I." He smirked lightly. "I'm all for trying new things out and loose relationships, you could say. Things feel nicer if you don't feel obligated." He measured her with a sizing look. "What kind of Weapon are you?"

"I couldn't agree more," she replied shifting the mundane sword she had been practicing with to her non dominant hand. Then holding her left arm out to the side, she transformed it into her curved blade. "Think you can manage?" She asked with a smirk.

His pale eyes darted towards the curved blade and his face turned into a frown as he tried to figure out what type of blade she might be by the shape of the edge alone for a moment. Then he smiled.

"I'm confident that I can."

"It's settled then. Would you like to try resonating now?" She asked transforming the blade back to her arm.

"Ready any time you are." Still smirking, he offered her his hand.

The blond took his hand but remained as she was. "I do have one teeny, tiny stipulation. If you wouldn't mind just turning your head for a moment while I transform..." No one had given her any flack about this requirement yet so she continued to request it.

He blinked at the request. "I could do that, but why?"

"What? That's b..because," she tripped over her words a bit getting flustered, "that's just.. it's personal."

"You know that that won't work in a real fight, right?" He sounded somewhat perplexed at the idea of a bashful weapon.

"But you could just.. If I just stood... but you won't be paying attention in an actual fight." Seeeee? She had a point! "Because you should be focusing on the enemy."

He gave her a look that said exactly what he thought of that kind of logic but then he just sighed and shook his bangs out of his face, hinting a headshake about something else. Bakura wasn't going to fight her over this as long as he didn't even know whether or not it was worth it.

"Fine, then." He pointedly looked to the side albeit all his senses remained alert. One didn't remain a successful ~~never mind living~~ thief for long without a healthy dose of paranoia.

While she didn't much appreciate the look he gave her to begin with she was satisfied with his final response which was to turn his eyes away. Nanami took a deep breath in and quickly transformed. "There, not so bad, right?"

"If I said yes I'd lie." He smiled and reached out to take the handle of the blade. He wasn't going to go for resonation with this one right away, not after he scared the other girl earlier off for seemingly good by doing just that. It was a pity that everybody seemed to think that resonances had to be pleasant.

It would take a lot to scare Nanami away since she'd probably take it as some sort of challenge if he brought it up. She'd tried with the overzealous Takuto who managed to make her feel like she was going to explode from his dazzling pressure and while he let her know she was going to be jumping in the deep end, she hadn't realized the deep end was a mile deep. They'd managed to even it up eventually and she was confident she could manage with anybody. But she'd been wrong before...

"Why don't you try out a few swings?" She suggested.

"I will." He concentrated for a moment. Then he adjusted his grip on the scimitar's handle and started to swing the weapon against a couple of imaginary enemies. The moves were short, fast and powerful like the jabs of a snake as he slowly let his wavelength run stronger through the blade.

His wavelength was difficult to describe in a way as it was a lot like the creeping sensation one might have had when one went into a long forgotten grave just to suddenly realize that one wasn't the only thing in there after one had went too far to get out quickly. There was a lurking sensation in it, malicious, but not aimlessly so. Much pride and confidence, too.

Nanami felt for his wavelength immersing herself as if she were tasting some expensive dish that had been ordered at the finest restaurant. His wavelength wasn't very pleasant and quite the contrast to everyone else she had resonated with thus far. She attributed this to the past he had briefly described to her and accepted it as it was. In return, she sent back the wavelength of a child who maybe bit off more than they could chew but defiantly continued because of pride.

His wavelength reacted to her lack of fighting back, settling over hers heavily but not continuing to push past a sense of clearly wanting to be the one in charge. There was a faint sense of a question carrying with it - would she accept his leadership and have them act together or would she refuse it and risk a clash?

Heavy was an apt way of describing her current state. She briefly wondered if this guy had some sort of chip on his shoulder, or maybe a giant bronze statue... and his idea of resonating was to share the weight, or drop the weight completely on her. Okay, she might be exaggerating a little but the feeling was heavy like Takuto's was dense. It wasn't something she couldn't work with but, "hey, can we even this thing up just a little bit more?"

"Hmn," he agreed wordlessly with a smirk and his wavelength settled back, taking any and all warmth with it. It still lurked within their resonation like a hungry predator waiting to strike, but for now it seemed to be satisfied only watching its prey.

Concentrating a bit, he send her a thought. 'I fear my wavelength isn't overly pleasant. I apologize for that.'

"You could say that again," she muttered back in response while moving a bit of her aura forward. She didn't have much warmth to fill in what had left, instead mostly naïveté replaced it. She sat thoughtfully for a while trying to warm up to the overall experience. There was currently no reason for her to push forth a more aggressive wavelength but she was entirely capable of doing so, it tended to happen more-so in the heat of the moment.

"Meeting the Pharaoh left me twisted." He kept performing a series of slashes while he waited for her to reach to a verdict. Even though he was confident that he could press any Weapon just into obeying him he didn't care for going this far just yet. Pawns were always more useful when they acted and thought on their own accord.

"Well? How is it?"

The Pharaoh? Wasn't there a guy around here who called himself that? Oh well, they probably weren't related.

She sighed a little, "Well I suppose I could work with it, I mean, I guess it will just take some time to get used to it is all," that was all true, she enjoyed resonance with some of the others better but she still hadn't gone on any missions outside of the enormous ones and she always started solo on those. It would be nice to go on a mission with someone soon just to see what they were like and top it off by being paid to travel.

"What about you? What are your thoughts on the matter?"

"It's alright." He admitted generously. He didn't particularly care about the quality of the resonance as long as it was a Weapon that he could use. "Your body is strong and fits nicely in my hand. Good balance, too. I think that I can help you do great things with that."

Nanami was pleased to know that he appreciated her in this form even if the wording raised an eyebrow, well if she had one at the moment. Weapon stuff was still kind of weird.

"You think so, huh? Are you up for a mission then?"

"A mission." He was a little surprised that she would make such an offer first but then smirked and shrugged his shoulders. "Sure, why not. I like a little action from time to time."
