Morning Training

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.

[Sarah knows him well enough to just plain approach when she wants something, though she does so when someone else has taken over in the shooting range. She eases over and then seats herself on the grass next to him, watching the comings and goings of the training in front of her.

She's close enough to brush her arm against his leg when she stretches her sore shoulder.]

We should have dinner tonight. You'll come to my place, yes?

[Yuri remained standing there observing the other participants when Sarah approached. Sensing her seating herself beside him, he never once skipped a beat as he continued to take down notes.

He had no intention of breaking the silence between them, as he was more than content to remain in his mind-numbing task of note-taking, even if he felt the subtle brush of her arm when she stretched beside him.

When her voice broke through the silence, the Judge eventually dropped his attention down to the redhead.]

I will be late.

[Sarah knew when Yuri was turning into a mopey workaholic, and this was bridging on that right now. She supposed that the incident from the day before had warranted such a change, but she wasn't about to let it take over their time. He willing came to her apartment after all. That meant something to her even if he was willing to wash it away.

She rubbed her sore shoulder and leaned back against his leg a little, looking up the distance to the understand of the pad of paper that he was writing on.]

So I'll expect you at eight rather than seven?

[There wasn't much that he could do to deter Kerrigan from her path. Yuri knew that well enough, even if he'd never admit it to anyone.

He remained where he was even as she leant against one of his legs. If he had any intention of leaving, such thoughts were put on hold it seemed.]

Perhaps.

[He was being annoyingly evasive about committing to anything with her, which meant that he planned on working later than eight. She said nothing about it, not yet at least. She would have her say in the end.

She sighed and nodded against his leg as if agreeing to the time herself, which she technically was.]

Lots of work for the Watch or the Agency?

[Whether she could see beyond his evasive words or not didn't matter to him. He should have simply agreed to the time and be done with it, but some part of him didn't want to have to think about anything beyond his work. Taking such harsh words from his mother was one thing, but having his entire world dropped out from beneath him by his father was something completely different.

Turning his attention back to the field, he couldn't bring himself to look at her.]

There is some, yes. I will do what I can to be out as early as possible, Miss. Kerrigan.

[Oh she could see beyond his evasiveness, but she knew how to get her way as well. She wasn't about to let him get away with continuing to be a mopey workaholic because of that incident. Soon enough, she would shoo him home to deal with that old man too.

For now, she would welcome him into her home and make him do things she thought was more appropriate behaviour.]

Well, that's good to know, Mr. Petrov. I suppose I should leave you to finish your information gathering then, now that I've guaranteed you for dinner.

[He did pause when she gave every indication that she would leave him alone. Inwardly surprised, Yuri couldn't help but peer down to where she sat. The Judge didn't say anything, not wanting to make up her mind one way or another, and simply remained quiet as Kerrigan made her decision.]

[Ah, so he could still be suspicious of her intentions. That was good because if he didn't show up (which he wouldn't), she would track him down and make him pay. No one got away with missing a dinner date with her when she demanded one.

Slowly, she rose to her feet again and stretched, casting an affectionate glance at him.] Don't work too hard without me to enjoy it too.

[And she left him alone... for now.]

[Yuri kept his silence when she rose and gave him such a look. Watching her leave, the Judge found his gaze lingering on her retreating back before she entirely disappeared from view. While he'd never admit to it, even to himself, some part of him actually hadn't wanted her to leave.]
