Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.

Only if you all want to ride with a hearse that badly. What would you even do if you got into a battle? You're no fighter at all.

I've been out in battles here before... Even if I'm not a fighter, I don't want to just sit around doing nothing...!

Having been in a battle doesn't mean the same as being ready to kill whenever it may be needed. No offense to you yadounushi, but neither of you vessels is any good at that.

[Of course it sounds as if he means it as a total offense.]

But when it comes to protecting people we care about...

[[Both he and Yuugi had that in common as well. If a friend was in trouble... nothing would hold them back.]]

[He scowls. He remembers those times all too well. He also knows that, looking at it from this point of view, Yuugi is better killer material than his own host.]

Tell me, what's the difference between protecting and fighting?

You do one for sake of the other...

No. That's a connection, host. I'm asking you for what makes it different!

[shiromadoushi]

[[hesitates a moment.]] Protecting is the goal while fighting is the means... They're not really the same at all.

Really. [He doesn't even try to hide the sarcasm in his voice.]

I don't think like you do, there's no way for me to know what sort of answer you're looking for when you ask vague questions like that!

Well, that's another fail. Here! [With that he suddenly tosses his apple at Ryou's face again while his other hand reaches towards his pockets. Suddenly Bakura is holding a knife and moving as if to charge his host with it.]

[[The apple, he smacks away, only to stare, wide eyed as the spirit pulls out a knife. What--- what was he...?! He wouldn't....!


He stumbles back, entire posture tense as if ready to run. The hell was the spirit playing at?!]]

[He barks out a crazy laugh.]

See?! That's what is the difference between just protecting and fighting! I can attack!!

[shiromadoushi]

What the heck is wrong with you?! That's not anything at all, you jerk!

[feelsgoodinyou]

Aw, it's not? [There is a lurking tone in his voice.]

[shiromadoushi]

If you're protecting someone you can attack. That's what going on on missions and everything like that is for! I'm doing that to protect everyone who can't!

[feelsgoodinyou]

[He cackles again.]

Attack?! Sure, but for what a price?! The moment you move forward, the tiniest moment you ever stumble back, it's the moment where their protection falls and you leave them all alone and vulnerable! Just like how this damn city keeps falling into ruins so easily!

[shiromadoushi]

It hasn't fallen to ruins! We're still here, still protecting everyone, still striking out at the witches whenever we can! Stop acting like everyone's a failure, you giant jerk!

[feelsgoodinyou]

[He drops the fighting stance and just leers at him haughtily.]

Oh, really now? And here I thought all you useless waste of flesh could do was to run around and stomp out the fires they keep creating while they're already busing making ten new ones! You can't win a war by just reacting, you know?! It's this side where the corpses are piling up while they're just losing their weakest cards!

[shiromadoushi]

[[Bakura's shoulders are very tense now]]

Shut up! You don't know anything!

What? You don't want to hear this? I've been on those 'missions' of theirs as well yadounushi. And you know what? I'm not blue-eyed enough to miss that every mission that they put up there means that it's already to late to save a whole lot of somebodies!

[shiromadoushi]

There have been ones where we've gone to stop something before it could happen!

[[But he knows that the Voice is right. The mission he and Vash had gone on where the had arrived just to late... Rushing in to try and stop the slaughter that was already happening, rescuing friends already kidnapped...

No. No he didn't want to think about that, wasn't going to think about that! He had to believe or else everything would fall apart....!]]
