Morning Training

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on April 24th.

[People said shooting was a serious thing.

Bakura is currently taking it serious by trying to hit the target into as man non-lethal but very painful places as possible. When he accidentally hits the area of the lungs, he curses.]

I heard somewhere that standing on one foot improves your aim.

[He stops and turns to Hyoubu, gun still in his hand and ready to shoot.]

If you want to hit your own leg it sure does. Hello to you too.

[You don't scare him, the other person working here said the guns don't shoot real bullets.]

You'll only hit your own leg if you have really poor balance. [And he's standing in the spot beside Yami Bakura and putting the rubber bullets into his own gun.]

[Silly Hyoubu, don't you know that rubber and paint projectiles hurt too?

He gives him a look and then starts sniping at his own target again aiming for the joints.]

Ha ha. What do I owe the honor of your presence to, oh wise one?

[He does. But it's better than dying, and rubber bullets means he can retaliate without worrying about being arrested.]

This is a public place you know. I can come practice if I want.

[He lifted it up, aimed and fired at the target, aiming only for vitals. Old habits die hard, really.]

Not everything is about you.

Hmmhmhmhm~[Lowering his head so that his bangs would hide is expression, he chuckled to himself.]

[...that chuckle certainly didn't bode well. Still, Hyoubu pretended not to notice.]

You sure have an interesting way of going target practice.

[Looking up, he gives him a bright smile that would have made a hungry shark envious.]

You know, I've always thought that there are worse things than just killing somebody.

[And it was Hyoubu's turn to chuckle darkly.]

Of course there is. That's a given, isn't it?

Very much. I'd say to keep them alive, but [Bang! The last bullet hit right through the paper target's head. Looking up, he smirks.] in the end I'm just a greedy, vengeful bastard, so I won't.

How scary.

[He lowered his own gun when he finished his round and frowned.]

I've gotten rusty. [Which is not entirely true. His aim was still pretty good for a man who hasn't really needed to use a gun in decades.]

[He pauses and gives him a sidelong glance through unreadable narrowed eyes.

Then he straightens up and puts his gun to the side as well.]

It happens if you lose sight of your goals.

Haha. While I can be accused of many things, losing sight of my goals isn't one of them.

[Though he might sometimes take the occasional detour, Hyoubu's never lost sight of what he wanted.]

What about you?

Well, one could say that there are a few things that I keep living for.

[Keep 'living' and letting others die if it furthered his schemes.]

There's not much left besides that for a guy like me, after all.

I wonder...

[He trailed off, as if thoughtful, though his tone remained conversational, as if he were merely talking about the weather.]

Can an existence like yours really be called living?

[He shrugs is shoulders, his tone remaining conversational as well.]

I wonder, but in any case 'something to keep living for' sounds better than 'something to be undead for'. That's what you'd call a ghost like me, right?

But you're not really living for anything. That's not something ghosts can do.

More likely, you're just tied down by something.

[He shrugs his shoulders even though he does not like the phrasing of him being 'tied down'. It's too passive and pathetic sounding.]

My reason in life, my reason in death. I still exist for the same thing. [That was a lie but also one of his painful truths. Even when he hadn't known about it during his life he had always been Zorc Necrophades most useful pawn. Well, the circumstances of his death and what had happened after had at least change some important little details of his continued insistence to fight and exist.]

But is your reason one you'll live for, or is it just one you'll die for? [The two are not entirely the same.]

It's one I'll kill for!

[His smile is manic because both of those options are just as true - he has no problem killing himself over and over again to get what he wants just as much as he refuses to remain dead for good for exactly the same reason.]

I didn't? [He chuckles and shrugs his shoulders.] I lived and I died. Now I'm a spirit that needs to borrow another one's body to interact with this world but I'm stronger than ever. Doesn't that answer your question?
