Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 18th.

Closed - Grey and Akiha (actually on May 20th)

[Akiha was leaning against a tree at the edge of the training grounds, fixing her fingerless gloves, as she waited for Grey. Most people who didn't know her would probably wonder why she fought in a skirt - a long one at that, but it was a flowing skirt in a style that allowed for freedom of movement.

Regardless, this meeting was to see if they could even resonate. If they couldn't do that, there was no point in Akiha wasting her time trying to help Grey get more experience.

Hopefully he'd arrive on time...]

[Gray spotted the girl he'd talked to on video soon enough, approaching her with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. If she was anything like a certain someone he knew back home, it could turn out very painfully for him. But Gray supposes it's still worth a shot trying to resonate. The more people the better.]

Hey. Did I keep you waiting?

Not long enough to irritate me.

[She pushed herself off the tree and shoved her hair behind her shoulder before taking a decent look at Gray now that he was before her. Yes, her eyes were certainly judging him.]

What Meisters have you resonated with before?

Right...

[He resisted the urge to take his shirt off for once, especially since the look Akiha gave him was ironically sending chills down his spine; what a great first impression that would be. Speaking of which, he really needed to get that habit fixed.]

Dunno if you'd know them or anything, but there were a couple of my friends from home, Lyon and Lucy. And there's Hanabi, Auron, and Ammy. That's about it.

[It's a very good thing he resisted the urge and left his shirt on. Akiha wouldn't have stood for the indecency and made a huge deal about it.]

I was familiar with Lyon when he was here. It's a shame he was returned so soon before we could settle who was better.

Oh yeah? That would've been something I'd want to see. Lyon's no pushover.

[He's totally not defending him or anything.]

And neither am I. [A bit of a frown.] But it's pointless to dwell upon.

I guess. [On the other hand, it'd also be funny in a sort of petty way to see Lyon losing.]

[Akiha holds her hand out.]

Take my hand and seek my wavelength out. I will do the same to you. Allow me to remind you that my wavelength is naturally dominant, but if we have the potential to resonate, I will be able to pull it back some. It just may take a bit until I get used to the feel.

[Oh man he's going to be holding hands with a girl he barely knows asdfghjkl okay just keep calm, it can't be any different from Lucy or Hanabi.]

...Sure. [Taking Akiha's hand gingerly, Gray closes his eyes to concentrate, looking for her wavelength. He's done this enough times before, but there's always a certain apprehension with new people.]

[Akiha's grip was firm - she didn't take any of that tentative stuff. She was a direct woman and had a mission here. Any potential issues Gray might be having with her being female was not any of her concern. At least not at the moment.

She also closed her eyes, searching for his wavelength. Hers was assertive and, as warned, pretty apparent. The first impression Gray would pick up after that initial contact was that she was probably judging him.

Because she was.

Good thing there was something about his wavelength that struck a familiar chord with her. She hummed a little, but it was a thoughtful noise, not a disapproving one.]

[He found Akiha's wavelength rather easily, not that she was hard to miss; bold and bright, it felt as vaguely familiar to a friend's as Gray had suspected, if only on a surface level. But all the same, a characteristic he could relate to might make it easier.

From the way their wavelengths didn't immediately repel each other, it seemed to be going adequately so far. Underneath the initial unease, a calm sort of determination was solidified in Gray's own wavelength like a will of ice. He let himself be judged, not sure exactly what Akiha was looking for, but as long as he wasn't being outright rejected, he'd roll with whatever they had.]

[Akiha hummed again, opening her eyes.]

Not bad. Your wavelength feels fairly solid, steady and resilient enough to handle the push from mine. I can work with that.

[A small grin spread across Gray's face. Being able to resonate with new people was always a satisfying experience.]

Yours reminds me of one of my friends. She can get pretty scary and pushy sometimes, but she's a great person.
