Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 4th.

[ Ah, how many times has he been here now? The red head wearing glasses and smoking his cigarette has lost count by now.

Matt is a Portal gun, so you are welcome to have fun with that. ]

*All right, Auron will take a crack at this.*

Morning.

[ Matt turns to look at the man ]

'Morning. [ well. how. does. one. socialize?

Matt would love to know.

Yeah, he has no idea, so he might look a tiny bit awkward ]

*That...Auron is used to. Comes with raising teenagers and being surrounded by a few more here.*

You feel up for testing resonance?

[ Matt nods ]

Yeah, I am. That's why I'm here, isn't it? [ at least this part Matt can do. He reaches out his hand to Auron's, so they can begin resonating. ]

*Auron takes the younger man's hand in a firm grip.*

Whenever you're ready.

[ Matt then turns into his weapon form. It's not really a gun and he must be wield by two hands.

However, Matt's first worry is and will always be: ]

Please don't drop me.

That is a bad ass weapon

I'll try not to. *Auron quickly grabs the very odd looking gun with both hands. It's heavy to hold, so the older man works on his resonance so he's not killing his muscles trying to the weapon upright.*

[ Matt focus on it as well. Mostly, he resonates with newbies, but it's good to finally do it with someone who is more experienced with that.

Let's see how much they are allowed to resonate, though. Matt experienced soul rejection before and he didn't like the feeling. ]

It's certainly shiny

*Auron's worked with guns before as part of being a monk, but he overwhelmingly preferred swords. However, as Matt's form is nothing like any gun Auron's seen, it helps him to disassociate from the Church of Yevon.

Working out the resonance with someone new takes a little time. Fortunately, Auron's managed to practice resonance with quite a number of weapons. He tries to balance his soul, filled with equal parts determination, strength and grief against Matt's.*

[ once their level of resonance is good enough, Matt puts up the usual wall between the two. He allows Auron to read his vital signs and the most obvious things about his soul - laid-back, quiet, anti-social - but his actual mood is very hard to tell. Matt doesn't allow that much, he never did. ]

Okay, I'm a portal gun. Do you know what a portal is?

*The resonance is decent but Auron can't tell much about the Weapon. Perhaps he just wished to keep it professional, something Auron could respect.*

It's a doorway connecting two places. *pause* Your gun shoots doorways?

I shoot an entry door and an exit door, both connected. That's my weapon ability, but I also shoot regular bullets.

There are two triggers, one of each door. You can only use them when we resonate well. To shoot bullets, though, you have to press the two triggers at the same time and it works as long we don't suffer soul rejection.

[gonext]

[Karina isn't all that sure about how this whole "be my weapon" thing goes, so she'll try to meet as many as she can at first. When she sees this dude with a "Weapon" badge on his outfit, she comes up to him.]

Good morning. Would you mind it if I got to know you?

[ Matt turns his head and oh-

he never saw her. So, she is probably one of the new comers from last batch ]

Hey. I'm Matt. [ "getting to know you". He can't help but smile a little at that. ]

[gonext]

[The smile settles Karina's nerves a little. She's pretty glad to know that she could break the ice, even just by a bit.]

I'm Karina. I'm a meister, and I work at Dorsia as a musician. I noticed you were a weapon.

[ SO that's how you introduce yourself. Matt seriously has no idea how to properly socialize ]

ah- I work at Black Mesa.

And yeah- I'm a weapon, looking for Meister. I'm a Portal Gun.

A Portal Gun? I've worked with guns before, but that sounds totally different to me. Care to tell me about it?

[ "worked with guns" will definitively stick to Matt's memory ]

You know what a Portal is? A gateway between two doors physically separated?

[gonext]

Yeah. I'm aware of what it is. [She's looking at him pretty curiously now.]

Besides shooting regular bullets, my Weapon ability is to shoot two "doors" that form a gateway. A Portal.

[ a pause ] It's much cooler seeing it than hearing about it.

[gonext]

Really? [Karina folds her arms and raises an eyebrow, her lips curling into a curious smile.] Can you demonstrate?

Of course. [ Matt reaches out his hand. ]

Have you ever resonated before?

[gonext]

No... [She cautiously takes his hand.]

This is my first time trying this, really.
