Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 4th.

Alright. Let's try it, then. Do I need to aim for a wall or something for it to work?

It must be a surface big enough to hold the gate way. The ground, for example.

Walls are the best, but it has worked in many other surfaces.

Alright.

[And she tries shooting a portal on the ground not far from her.]

So, do I just hop in?

You need to open the two for them to work. Use the other trigger and shoot the second portal near the first one.

Grab a rock too, by the way.

[gonext]

If you say so.

[She shoots the second portal near the first one, following Matt's instructions. Then she looks around and picks up a medium-sized rock.]

So, what do I do now?

[3rdbest]

Throw the rock inside one of the portals. [ And when Karina does, something like this will happen (except with the rock) ]

[Karina does so and she watches with fascination at how the rock just bounces from portal to portal. She laughs.]

This is pretty nifty. How long do your portals stay open?

For as long as I have energy. You will actually feel it when I start getting too weak to keep them open.

[ Matt watches the rock for a bit while longer and he finally speaks ]

Okay, so about these portals. The best way to use portals is to learn how to take advantage of momentum. Momentum, in layman's terms means, speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out. Rocks, even my bullets or even yourself.

You can actually jump into the portals, if you'd like. You won't get hurt, not at this basic level.

So, would that mean if I just stuck my hand in, all it would do is reach into the other portal, right? And if that's so, if I jumped through this one, I'd come out at the same speed or a little faster, yeah?

[Karina's a brave girl, anyway, and she feels confident in her physical prowess that if she wants to stop hopping between portals, she could just turn midair and land away from them.]

Exactly.

[ see, it isn't hard. ]

It's better to take the rock away first, if you want to try it, though.

[gonext]

Alright.

[Instead of moving to grab the rock from where it's bouncing in and out of the portals, Karina aims with Matt and cleanly shoots it out of the way with a well-timed bullet which freezes the rock upon impact.]

Okay then. Here goes...

[She hops into one of the portals without hesitation and she instantly pops out the other, much like the rock earlier.]

This feels a lot like a seesaw at high speed!

[ Matt chuckles softly at the comparison ]

There are many tactics you can apply, when using a portal gun. Using momentum, I mean. You just need to figure out what to do with it exactly, but I have few things up my sleeve, too.

If we work together, would that mean I'll get to see more of what you're capable of?

[Karina uses a bit of the momentum from when she pops out one of the portals to twist her body and land on the ground with a roll as she held the portal gun close to her chest. Well... Matt said to not drop him, so she couldn't just let him crash on to the ground when she made her landing.]

Exactly. And I can also teach you few moves.

[ and suddenly he is pressed against her chest.

CHEST.

She probably can feel the sudden surprise which he wasn't able to actually hide. Until he finally catches himself and yeah, back to being able to hide his emotions.

It's cool, it's cool. All is cool. ]

[gonext]

[It was in that very moment when she felt some kind of surprise from Matt did she realize that the Portal Gun could actually feel. And to think it was right there in that sweet spot between her two fairly average jubblies.

A little shocked herself, she immediately sets the gun (gently) on the ground.]

Y-you felt that?

[ WOW THANKS FOR ASKING THAT IT'S NOT EMBARRASSING AT ALL

Matt turns back, scratching the back of his head. As he does, the portals disappear. ]

N...

Uh- even if I turn into an object, it's still me? [ adjusting his goggles, looking around, LALALA~, nothing happened ]

[Karina huffs at that, folding her arms across her chest.]

Well, it was either that or slamming you on the ground hard.

[ why are we still talking about it ]

Yeah, thanks for that.

[ WAIT THAT DIDN'T COME OUT RIGHT ]

Not slamming me on the ground, I mean.

[gonext]

[Karina huffs again. She'd make a remark about him being a masochist if he decided to prefer the other option, but she decides to be silent about that.

Moving on, moving on...]

Well, anyway, I had fun working with you.

Uh-

[ finally he looks at her ]

Same. [ not that sort of fun, he almost said, but. Ah well. Whatever ]

If you ever want to go on a mission, let me know.

Alright. Do you need to be permanent partners for that?

[3rdbest]

Nah. As long you resonate well enough to make it work, it's alright. [ else he'd have a lot of partners. ]
