Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 4th.

[He's not terribly keen on talking about fighting, especially of the unexpected nature, but this time the implications of Takuto swapping him between his hands like that actually dawn on him a little.]

You... can wield with either hand?

he could grow up into a bishounen? (I'm thinking Nanami soon?)

[Takuto shrugs a little, and almost unconsciously swaps Shinji again.]

...Yes. If it bothers you being passed around like that, I can try to stop.

[But note that he says "try" and makes no guarantees. There's a slight curl of embarrassment threading through his wavelength, as well. He's more or less given up on the idea of ever being actually good at single wielding.]

Haha, I suppose anything's possible! (That works for me.)

[He pauses for a moment to try and think of the right way to word his thoughts.]

It's... odd, but it isn't bad. [If that's how he fights, Shinji isn't really in any position to try and get him to stop.] It's kind of impressive, actually.

when you pilot a semi-sentient robot in high school, you have to be a bishounen

[He smiles gratefully down at Shinji.] It's not really how I was trained, though.

[And when he lifts his eyes, who does he see just on the other side of the dummy but... someone who knows how to wield knives. And his wavelength picks up again to somewhat dazzling heights as he gets an idea. Because he's also looking at a way to give Shinji a much better picture of how he was trained.]

Nanami-chaaan~!

Huh? [The immediate response of someone who hadn't been paying too much attention on her way by the targets but really, only one person here used that particular honorific with her name attached.]

Takuto-san [There's a teeny tiny hint of uneasiness in her voice as she remembers what happened last time they met at morning training.] Hello.

[Takuto's sudden surge in dazzle catches Shinji quite off guard and it's a bit of a struggle trying to catch up to it once more. When he notices that he's talking with someone else, though, his own emotions still a little. Is... is there some kind of etiquette to meeting someone new while in weapon form? Should he be changing back...?]

Who is that?

[tauborn]

[Takuto knows no such etiquette. He is making this up as he goes along. He holds up Shinji, waving Nanami over with his other hand.]

Nanami-chan, this is my friend Shinji. [And then he looks at the knife.] Shinji, this is a my friend Nanami-chan. [And then he looks back to Nanami with a grin.]

Do you want to resonate with us? I've never wielded a knife before and I think I'd like your help.

[She sighs a little to herself, this was just like him... she glances to the knife he's got raised unsure of how to greet it...] H.. how do you do?

[The blond straightens up placing a hand on her hip and looks back to redhead] You sure don't beat around the bush, do you? I suppose I could help you out if you'd like. [Man, Nanami was so nice.]

I-it's nice to meet you. [Yeah, okay, being introduced in weapon form is definitely very awkward. He's not sure how well turning back would go with Takuto holding him up like that would work, though.]

You... can resonate with more than one person at a time? [He seriously hadn't even considered that as a possibility.]

[tauborn]

[He nods to Shinji's question, and then holds out a hand to Nanami. He's kind of excited to try this but he's doing his best to keep his enthusiasm under control so Shinji doesn't get left behind.]

Thanks, Nanami-chan! I've been wanting to learn how to do the style you know. Just, um, try to go a little easy on Shinji--it's his first resonance attempt. [Which is pretty funny advice coming from Takuto.]

[She wonders if the knife kid is actually okay with this but shrugs and takes his hand anyway. If he can handle Takuto it should be okay, right?] All right, just get to your calm place first if you don't mind... oh and Shinji was it? [she leans down toward the knife scrutinizing it for a moment] I would prefer it if you didn't watch while I transform.

[Something about the look Nanami gives him sends a small feeling of unease through Shinji, but he tries not to dwell on it.]

That's fine, I won't look.

[tauborn]

[He sends a bit of reassurance to Shinji via their connection. Nanami is no one to be worried about. And then he dutifully closes his eyes and tries to remain calm as he waits for Nanami to transform.]

[Satisfied that neither are looking and Takuto at least looks like he's trying, she changes form and braces herself for Takuto's tidal wave which she's expecting anyway. Her aim is to meet him at least halfway while feeling for the third's wave, she isn't really sure how that works since she hadn't gotten that far in questioning Kid.]

[Having shifted his focus elsewhere, he only notices that Nanami has finished changing when there's a shift in the wavelengths. He mostly waits, trying to get a feel for the change, before doing what he can to match it.]

[Fortunately, not only is Takuto accustomed to dual-wielding, but he's actually very good at it. Perhaps even better than he is at focusing on just one weapon.

He opens his eyes as his wavelength meets Nanami's--and sure enough, she's prepared--but it's not as dramatic or sudden a meeting as it was the first time they attempted it. He's got to divert at least half his attention to Shinji, after all.

It shouldn't be much more than a few nudges of a kind of resonance balancing act before he's got the hang of wielding both of them comfortably. Shinji is honest but rather timid, and Nanami's bold front hides a lonely interior. But in a way, their souls seem to complement each other out quite nicely, and there's a rather satisfied note humming through Takuto's wavelength.]

[Nanami is now convinced, dual wielding and Takuto are a perfect match. He haS so much energy and now that it's split between her and the newcomer it doesn't feel heavy to her at all which in turn has made it easier to find Shinji's wavelength.


She figures it's her turn to send something over to Shinji so she carefully attempts to divert some of her wavelength in his direction. At this point, it's mostly just a curious and slightly judgy probe.]

[Shinji's own wavelength seems to tense a little at the curiosity directed at him. As much as it makes handling Takuto's exuberance by adding a third party easier, he's still slightly apprehensive about it being someone he literally only just met.

Regardless, he really does want to be able to be helpful, so he calms any sort of knee-jerk panic he may have. It proves to be far easier this time around after being exposed to Takuto's far cheerier wavelength for as long as he has.]

[Takuto holds the weapons side by side in front of him, as if a physical closeness could encourage a more metaphysical one. He wraps his own wavelength around Shinji's in an attempt to bolster the knife's confidence, and maintains a light but rather close connection with Nanami.]

Just let me know when you two are ready to start some real practicing! [And, split between the two of them, the usual torrent of excitement is more like a steady current.]

[Nanami is used to diving in head first and being knee deep in trouble, there is practically no uneasiness to be found in her determined and currently more serious wavelength. After all, if Takuto trusts Shinji, it's good enough for her... for now.

Shinji's wavelength seems to be aiming to please and Nanami is perfectly happy with that.]

I'm ready whenever, I know you're ambidextrous when it comes to fighting but which is your more dominant hand? The longer blade should go in that one.

I'm ready. [He adds his remark quietly, not wanting to interrupt the lesson being given. He really has no advice to add, and he figures Nanami probably has a good idea of what she's talking about, if Takuto asked her to help.]

[Takuto stares down at the pair of weapons, concentrating. Which hand is his more dominant one?

When he was with Tauburn, he'd always called for Emeraude--his righthand sword--and then Saphire, the lefthand one. As he remembers this, he unconsciously raises the weapons to chest level, nearly stabbing himself with Shinji before he realizes that these weapons aren't drawn from a glowing light on his chest.

He awkwardly swaps them between his hands, trying to maintain contact the entire time to avoid dropping their resonance while his wavelength colors with embarrassment.]

Okay. Nanami on the right and Shinji on the left. Now what?

[Ah, the exact opposite of Nanami, that was going to take some time to get used to. Also, she totally gets that pulling swords out from the chest area thing so she actually doesn't second guess it at all and is completely oblivious to the fact that he just nearly skewered himself.]

You'll be using the sword... well me, I guess, for more of the heavier mid-range attacks and Shinji for lighter, quicker inside attacks.

It's pretty similar to how you use your two sword technique you just have to remember to get in close for a strike with Shinji. For instance, if you are deflecting a weapon attack with me, you can stab forward or cut across with Shinji at the same time.

You move forward and attack with the long blade until you're close enough to strike with the knife. Push back, push back, get inside and go for the kill. Ideally, it's best to keep the opponent on the defensive side while you continuously attack.

[A mild note of unease makes its way through Shinji's wavelength as Takuto nearly stabs himself he is the only one of this trio who doesn't have to summon his weapons like that you two are crazy, but it subsides as soon as Takuto seems to realize what he's doing.

He remains quiet through Nanami's explanation, figuring it would probably at least be helpful for him to know all this, even if he's not entirely sure to what degree it will actually be useful for him during combat.]

That makes a lot of sense.

[Takuto nods, letting the affirmation run through his wavelength.]

So in order to really do much, I have to get in really close.

[This was going to require a bit of a change of strategy, since he normally was comfortable moving in and back out of range. With Shinji, however, he'd have to remain close to be effective.

But the best way to learn was to practice, so he pauses, readying his stance, and then rushes at the practice dummy, using Nanami first to tap the shoulders and then stabbing quickly with Shinji. It was pretty easy, but that was because the dummy didn't exactly put up any resistance.]
