Morning Training Log!

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 4th.

[Naoto is doing what she can at morning training, but it consists of little training today and more observing people closely. It's going to be warm today; not good for anyone used to cooler climates or already feeling unwell. Not for animals with black feathers either.]

[Raising her arm, she manages a small smile when Poe comes and lands. He's getting better at this and controlling his talons so they don't scratch. Still, he's hopping up to her shoulder to get a better hold and demand a few chin scratches, faint caws escaping. Fine, he's earned them. Might as well feed him now too.]

I didn't know you had a crow, detective Naoto. *He missed seeing it during your birthday party*

[Poe's feathers rise as he puffs himself up, but then fall as he shakes them out. For a moment, Naoto almost thought he would caw at Alucard, but the crow appears to be preening]

Yes. I've had him for a while now. A matter of becoming a convenient source of food after a rough meeting I believe. [Poe doesn't like crowds. He decided to go out that evening.]

So you are saying the crow adopted you?

You could say that. Crows are brilliant animals. He followed us back out of anger initially, but we somehow made peace. It was most likely the walnuts.

I did not realize they were so intelligent. I am more partial to bats and wolves. *Kind of biased that way.*

I'm not surprised, but yes, crows have been known to improvise in order to get food such as making tools and hold grudges in a similar way to humans.

Hold grudges? Really. I suppose it is very unwise to treat them unkindly if they'll remember you.

A grudge brought Poe here actually. He was being manipulated at the time, but he didn't seem to care.

[Poe caws, but Naoto doesn't know what he's trying to say.]

He seems to have forgiven you. What does he normally eat?

He's omnivorous. I try to keep his diet balanced and varied with foods like nuts, berries, insects, and meat.
