Morning Training Log!

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 4th.

[[Normally Bakura spent the time in morning training when he wasn't helping people with transformation working hard. Running laps around the field, practicing his aim, trying to live up to the legacy of friends long gone, trying to find a partner to avoid the mess of working with the few he knew he could resonate well with.

Today, after he's done helping out, he finds a spot to the side where he can watch the chaos of activity around him and just sits. His expression is distant, but contemplative, the soft smile on his lips an automatic mask that he doesn't even think about any more.

There's a lot on his mind that most anyone who knows him has at least a hint of, and it may take a moment for him to realize that anyone's there for him to break out of the thoughts swimming in his head. But he's not totally on the moon. Just somewhat in orbit.]]

[Lily's giving the plants a little extra water today, to keep them from wilting under the sun's grin, when she notices him sitting to the side and walks over.]

Bakura? [This was the normal Bakura, right?] Are you okay? Yuugi mentioned something happened to you when he asked for time off from the shop...

No worries.

[[The teen blinks up out of his distant thoughts, giving Lily an automatic smile]]

Aaa-- un, I'm fine, I'm fine! Just sort of pushed too hard and wound up over taxing myself...

[[Nothing about that wasn't true, it just... wasn't the whole story, that was all.]]

By the way, did you want to continue with the mission log or handwave the rest?

[She frowned slightly at his admission of overexerting himself.]

Does this have to do with fighting those zombies a few days ago?

[Maybe, she shouldn't have agreed to that. Although they did defeat the creatures in the end, it was obvious their resonance hadn't been that strong...]

[[blinks a few times. While that hadn't been the smoothest of missions, it had hardly been exhausting...! More frustrating than anything, really... ]]

No...

That's okay! Any particular details you wanted to assume for that?

[Was it just her or did Bakura seem completely distracted this morning? The mission hadn't even been a week ago yet he seemed surprised at its mention...]

You're sure? Do you mind telling me what happened then? [Because she was still kind of concerned. If it had just been a case of Bakura not getting enough sleep for a couple of nights, Yuugi wouldn't have asked for time off, right?]

[[OoC: Likely it was a bit of effort to win, Bakura again likely tried to do the "..so.. abilities" and wound up just frustrated with himself for not being able to make the resonance work as well as he'd hoped. I may give it another try once this headcold is gone but... mission logs are hard ><]]

[[A lot had happened since then to push it out of his mind so it seemed far longer ago than it really was.

He hesitates a moment]]

A friend got really badly hurt... wound up using almost all of my energy to heal him. Last time I did something like that, I wound up passing out, so I'm doing a little better! [[he tried to deflect with a smile, but it fell a bit flat.]]

Oh! [She was a bit startled at this answer.] Is he okay? This wasn't another mission, was it?

[It sounded like it had been an emergency. But from what Lezard had mentioned to her, the folks at the school made people wait a few days between missions for their health and it hadn't been long since they'd gone to Tel Aviv.]

[OOC: Okay! If things looked particularly bad, Lily might have eventually tried chanting a bit to help focus and it might have helped resonance a little but not that much. She'd probably still try to be evasive about abilities but if she really feels she can't put him off anymore, she might explain that people back home with abilities like that were considered freaks. Although she still wouldn't want to say much about it.]

[[OoC: I don't think Bakura would really push it much, but just kinda have a "let's not try this again..." at the end and just been a bit tired and frustrated. If you want to have her try and explain, we can always jump the fighting and pick up the chat after?]]

[She tilted her head and glanced at him inquiringly, trying to understand what he meant.] A different sort of mission?

[And why hadn't he answered about whether his friend was okay?] Is your friend still in the clinic?

[OOC: If you're up for them talking more after the fighting's over, I could go back and edit the last tag to summarize the fight and jump to the end. If the abilities thing did come up, it would probably be helpful to thread out.]

Was this person dangerous? Did they cause your friend's injuries? [A criminal, maybe?]

They got away? Or there was some reason they couldn't be arrested? [She was kind of assuming it was a criminal since Bakura said his friend was chasing after them and thought they were dangerous.]

Sort of. It's not... he hasn't done anything here. So there's no way anyone here could arrest him.

So, it was a criminal from your friend's world? But if he was the one who hurt your friend, what about that?

It's not so simple of a situation... and I really can't explain it.

[[Not even to himself.

You are going to be okay, right? [He did say he was fine before but she was still a tad worried.]

[[He nods, smiling softly.]] I just need to rest up and make sure not to do anything like that again, that's all. I'll be fine. Don't worry about me.
