Morning Training happens every day in the city, and most days get handwaved. This training log happens January 30th.

FAQ: For any character confusion or questions. Answered enthusiastically by Maito Gai.
Breakfast: Provided by the combined efforts of Cinderella, Katakura Kojuro, Saya Tagaki.
Batch 1: Beginners under the age of fifteen. Taught by Prussia, Fakir, Auron, Steve Rogers.
Batch 2: Adult beginners. Under Saber, Kaoru Kamiya, Lightning Farron, Maito Gai, Tifa Lockhart.
Batch 3: Intermediate fighters, for sparring with each other. Overseen by Hyuuga Neji and Ling Yao. Please see list of random sparrers.
Batch 4: Experienced fighters, for sparring with each other. Overseen by Selendis. Please see list of random sparrers.
Weapon transformation: How to Change into Your Weapon Form. Yuuri, Ishida Mitsunari, Spirit.
Soul Perception: If you still don’t know by now-- Any of the Soul Perception people. Luna Lovegood, Azusa.
Partner training: How to Work Together as Partners. Tassadar and Nataku. Maka and Soul. Shizuo and Motochika. Eve.
Weapons handling training: Genesis, Tenten.
Shooting range: How to shoot things 101. Grit, Vash the Stampede, Leon. Fuu Hououji (for Archery).
Meister Ability helpers: Edgeworth, Death the Kid, Ryuuji.
Medics (and First Aid Training, lead by Naomi Kimishima): All the medical people.
Audience: Because some people just want to watch.
Watch: An area closed off to the Watch members who need any sort of special training.

[Mostly. One or two lessons from Richter don't really count; most of the time he's had to figure things out himself and Emil takes some pride in what he's managed on his own.]

[He jerks a thumb at the beginners' area behind them.]

[Welp. Either this is going to be a disaster or a miracle, but Ling's sure there are a few people in Death City who can surprise him. The prince picks up a practice dao sword of his own. He assumes his stance, guarding hand out in front of him, two fingers pointed to drive attacking thrusts away and curved flat sword held high over his head for slashing.]

Very well. Why don't you show me what you've got. But first, tell me your name. I'm Ling Yao, of the August Empire of Xing. And you are?

[Ling's stance is perfect, the form of a person who has trained all his life in the arts and forms of Xingese fighting techniques. There's no openings visible here. He lifts his front leg to complete his defense, ready to leap.]

[ooc: plurk me @ redplumflower or aim me @ oretachiwarumba if you want to work out how this happens. I need to know what kind of outcome to go for here and his weaknesses.]

[Emil knows good form when he sees it, but that recognition grates hard with his pride.]

[He assumes a stance of his own, not quite so solid as Ling's but still firm and defensive. He hasn't gotten through his entire journey by being weak like his other self, after all.]

All right, how about this. If you can knock me down or take my sword, you stay. If not, you're over to the beginners.

What the hell? No way!

I can't let you stay here if you're going to get hurt, little fella.

I'm not! I've done just fine on my own, or else I wouldn't have survived to be here right now.

[Ling shrugs lightly, clearly intent on being easygoing about this.]

All right Emil, have it your way. Let's see what you've got. Begin.

[And with that, Ling shifts his dao sword aside to the left, leaving Emil a good spot to attack.]

[Emil seizes the chance, clearly intent on proving himself. He runs at Ling as soon as he sees the opportunity, aiming for the opening Ling's left.]

[Aaaand Ling's right knee is now driving right up into the spot where the boy's gut is going to be in another instant.]

[The knee connects, and Emil stumbles back clutching the area where he's been hit.]

Hey--!

[Ling blinks, a bit surprised... that Emil is acting surprised to be attacked during a fight.]

Hey, what? Come on, then, Emil. It's a battle, your enemy is going to use whatever they can against you. Think on your feet.

[Ling shifts his sword into just his right hand, and moves it towards the right side now, leaving his left side unguarded.]

[If Emil goes for the bait and attacks his open left side, Ling's left fist is going to pull back at the waist and try for a low punch. However, if Emil's smarter than that and he decides to attack Ling's right side, he'll allow the boy to lock swords with him and press back against his attack.]

[WHAT DO, YOUNG PADAWAN? WHAT DO?]
