Morning Training happens every day in the city, and most days get handwaved. This training log happens January 30th.

[He's just here to observe, blending in with the crowd; the knife wound in his side makes too much movement unpleasant and besides, this seems like as good a way as any to gather information]

[Don't mind the frog, he's just sitting under a tree with a parasol, sun-glasses and a thermos of hot tea.]

[knifedances]

[The frog doesn't go unnoticed; it's not exactly a sight he's accustomed to after all, reptiles wearing sunglasses and drinking tea. He'd have to admit to at least being more than a little curious of the non-humans inhabiting this city, even if they do fall outside of the boundaries of his love.

He'll just keep observing, however, disinclined as he is to instigate conversation with anyone right now]

[Hot tea really is the best in the morning. Keroro takes a sip and sighs, absolutely contented.

Then he stretches to put the cap back on, but instead of doing that...he accidentally knocks over the thermos, sending hot tea spilling over the ground. Jumping up, he manages to upend the rest of the tea in the cap all over the place.]

K-KEROOOOOO!

[knifedances]

[He takes a small step to the side as the tea splashes outward in an effort to avoid it, catching the movement from the corners of his eyes. He overtly glances in that direction now, and he has to wonder if that exclamation is some kind of attempt at language; the frog may have been drinking tea and sitting beneath a parasol but 'it' has yet to move beyond the boundaries of 'creature' or perhaps 'monster' in Izaya's mind.

Is he supposed to address it? He really has no idea]

Clumsy~

[The cap drops out of Keroro's hand as he watches the rest of his tea slowly seep into the ground.]

M-My tea....

[He doesn't really notice anyone glancing at him, more occupied with the fact that he just spilled his tea. ALL OF HIS TEA. His perfect observation spot was now ruined. And who are you calling a monster, Izaya.]

[knifedances]

[And now it's speaking actual words that he can understand, something that 'creatures' really have no business doing, and yet that means it rises in his estimations just slightly though some people may be in disagreement over just which of the two of them is the monster. Because where there is language there is higher level functioning, and that means it's possible there is some fun to be gained from such a thing. He prefers humans and always will, finds anything else mildly abhorrent, but that doesn't mean he can't be curious. Though when he speaks again it's mostly to himself; a practice he quite frequently engages in]

Ah, talking frogs. What next? This place really is interesting~

[Keroro believes that if humans are allowed to talk without people getting weirded out, he should be allowed to talk without people getting weirded out. Besides, pointing out that he can talk is rude. He doesn't point out that the Pekoponians around him can talk as if it was anything special, even if Pekopon was considered one of the lower level of planets with respect to technological development, and it constantly hovered just one step away from being destroyed or invaded.

And he's kind of mad about his tea.]

I'm not a talking frog.

[knifedances]

[He turns to look at the 'creature' more fully now that he's actually being addressed, his expression one of polite detachment over mild curiosity]

Oh? What are you, then?

[starfruitfrog]

I'm an alien. [He says this with a tone that very strongly implies that he thinks Izaya should have known this.]

[knifedances]

[A response to which Izaya just laughs, the sound a little grating as he moves to run a hand back through his hair]

We're all aliens to each other, aren't we? Coming from different worlds. I was expecting something a little more technical.

[starfruitfrog]

[He has no idea why Izaya laughed though. What was so funny about being an alien?]

That's different because all of you guys still come from a Pekopon, even if it's not the same one. I'm from Keron, the 58th planet of the Gamma Large Nebula. That makes me a real live alien, de arimasu.

[knifedances]

[And he tilts his head a little to one side, though his curiosity is mild at best, his expression still bordering on detached; this seems more than a little surreal to him, but then he supposes it's no more so than anything else that's happened to him since waking to find himself here]

And what's 'Pekopon', may I ask?

[A lazy little shrug]

It still seems a little strange to me that you'd call yourself an alien. It's a word used to describe people who're different from oneself, or creatures from outer space. And sure, you may be a creature from outer space from my perspective, but from your own shouldn't it be me that fits that description?

[He really should just stick to using the Pekopon term for Pekopon. But he keeps slipping back into old habits.]

Earth. Pekoponians call it Earth. It's a little blue planet.

I use that term because it's the simplest for Pekoponians to understand. If I called myself a Keronian, people that weren't familiar with my world would be confused. Besides, I spent most of my time back in my own world on Pekopon, and as a non-native it was easier to refer to myself as an alien.

[knifedances]

I see. I guess it makes sense that you'd have a different name for it.

And while I get your point, all it would take is a moment to explain in order to make things clear, don't you think? Though I'm sure that'd become tedious after a while.

[A moment's pause as he observes the other consideringly]

I'll bet you get mistaken for some kind of frog more frequently than an alien, however~

[Despite his height (or lack there of) Waltz was never very good at blending into a crowd. He had a tendency to stand out no matter where he went. it was probably the way he carried himself all haughty and languid, like royalty even here where his title meant nothing.

Old habits are hard to break, after all.

he'd been watching people train for a while and frankly he's wondering why he even bothered to.]

This is boring. [He huffed, not really speaking to anyone in particular.]

[knifedances]

[The possibility that the words just spoken were not addressed to him and were nothing more than a general utterance certainly occurs to Izaya - he's rather prone to talking to himself, as it happens, though generally only out of earshot of the general populace - yet he sees no reason why he shouldn't respond. The purpose of his observation is - for today at least - to get to know the people here a little better, as well as to learn a little something about how the new abilities they've apparently been gifted with might work. He's been watching silently for some time now, however, and while in general he intends to keep out of the way as much as possible while he's waiting for his injury to heal, he sees no harm in engaging in conversation. Who knows? He might learn something interesting]

Do you think so? [He says it casually, his gaze still seemingly fixed on the activities going on before them]

[threefourtime]

<[Waltz spared the man a quick glance from the corner of his eyes before turning back to what he'd been watching before.

He propped on hand under his chin.]

I already said I did, didn't I?

[knifedances]

[He shrugs lazily, not much caring whether the other man's eyes are still on him or not]

You did. Though it seems an odd statement to make when there's so much going on here.

[And he glances over at him, now]

What would you consider interesting I wonder, if this bores you so much?

[threefourtime]

[He sat back with a mock-thoughtful hum.]

Tearing the wings off insects and watching them struggle. [He makes a sweeping gesture with an arm.] But on a much grander scale, of course. [Power over insects was easy. Power over people, however...]

[knifedances]

I'm sure that's a stance that wins you a good deal of popularity.

[Though his own favoured form of enjoyment takes a similar form, even if the intentions behind it are a little different. He doesn't feel the need to share that little detail, however]

[threefourtime]

[He shrugs.]

It's amazing what people are willing to over-look if you give them something nice every now and then. [Of course, even the "nice" things he gives the people of Forte came with strings attached.] That's people for you.

You can only push people so far before they either break or retaliate, however.

[Unless you're subtle about it; that way retaliation can often be avoided at least. He tilts his head, giving the other man a considering look from the corners of his eyes]

You don't sound very fond of them.

It's okay, we can be slow together.

So what if they break? It's their own fault for letting it happen. And if they retaliate, then just crush them.

[That second part came out sharper than he'd intended. He's had experience with rebellion, after all, and it had ended with him beaten. Though he could at least console himself with the fact that he'd destroyed everything in the end. That would show them.]

What is there to be fond of? Humans are nothing but hypocrites and liars. But I could have forgiven them for that if they weren't stupid enough to fall for their own lies as well.

[The sudden sharpness isn't lost on Izaya, and it mildly arouses his ever-present curiosity; something to pry into perhaps, if this person is capable of maintaining his interest for any length of time]

That kind of overt force would only lead to trouble in the end. At least, that's my opinion.

[Subtle manipulation and a softer touch were his preferences, after all. All he did was give people a gentle push in the right direction when they were standing on the line between one path and another; it was up to them if they chose to take it, and it was that choice that made things more interesting. To remove free will entirely would soon make things very boring]

Though that includes you, doesn't it? Unless you're something other than human. You're doubtlessly no less a liar and a hypocrite who frequently falls for his own lies than anyone else. It's human nature - a survival mechanism, if you will - and therefore there's nothing wrong with it.

[He shrugs and smiles]

Or maybe you see yourself as exempt? An exception to the rule?
