Morning Training happens every day in the city, and most days get handwaved. This training log happens January 30th.

FAQ: For any character confusion or questions. Answered enthusiastically by Maito Gai.
Breakfast: Provided by the combined efforts of Cinderella, Katakura Kojuro, Saya Tagaki.
Batch 1: Beginners under the age of fifteen. Taught by Prussia, Fakir, Auron, Steve Rogers.
Batch 2: Adult beginners. Under Saber, Kaoru Kamiya, Lightning Farron, Maito Gai, Tifa Lockhart.
Batch 3: Intermediate fighters, for sparring with each other. Overseen by Hyuuga Neji and Ling Yao. Please see list of random sparrers.

Watch: An area closed off to the Watch members who need any sort of special training.

[As threatened Ryuuji is present and ready to help whoever is desperate enough to approach him with figuring out their Meister ability.

There is a beautiful big bloom resting in one of his hands, made completely from water. The 'drowning any idiots' wasn't an empty promise.]

[ Tenma comes running over, soccer ball in his hand and even in his soccer uniform to boot. He waves at the person he recognizes as giving him some pointers before training this morning. ]

Ryuuji, hi! I brought my soccer ball, like you said!

[Just 'Ryuuji'?

He makes a small gesture and the water bloom dissolves and returns as a small stream into one of the containers for it that he carries with him before he turns to greet Tenma.

When he does, he's suddenly smiling and a lot less grumpy-looking.]

Tenma-kun. Good morning. I see you came prepared. Did you think about what your Meister ability could be?

[ You can be 'coach' if that would make you feel better!

Tenma's not easily frightened off by grumpy faces, but seeing Ryuuji ease up is a relief. ]

I did try thinking about it! You said it could be something that we're good at, and there's only one thing that could be.

[ He holds up his soccer ball. Being a soccer freak is his greatest talent and he knows it. ]

[...not really. It implies being social.

He takes a look at the ball and then nods. He has seen this kind of coming.]

You like sports, huh? Are you alright with answering a few questions before we start any attempts? That way we can narrow down what's going to work and what not.

[ Tenma nods. ]

Yeah, I like soccer! At home I play on a team with my friends. I don't mind any questions- I'll try to do my best answering them!

Good. Which kind of position do you play? On the field or the team?

I'm a midfielder! There were a couple times that I had to play as goal keeper, though.

[So a role that is can be both offensive and defensive, paired with positions that come with a certain responsibility and need for immunity to stress. He makes a mental note of that.]

Do you prefer to play offensively or help others?

[ Tenma takes his time before finding an answer for this question. ]

Even playing offense, it's not like you're by yourself. The team has to each other out from every position! And I like helping my teammates!

[Wow, did he rehearse that? Anyway, that answer doesn't really help.]

Do you consider yourself more active or passive? [Even if the answer is pretty obvious.]

[ Oh, this one's easy. ]

Active! I think.

Alright.

[He starts to unfold some 'targets' made out of wood that he borrowed from the practice ground. They're build in to practice low attacks and are pretty much just wooden shields set up vertically to the ground.]

I want you to focus as best as you can and then hit those with your ball. Can you do that?

Yeah, I think so!

[ Tenma lines himself up with the targets before setting the soccer ball down on the ground. He takes a few steps back before he confirms and focuses on the target, then takes some running steps back to the ball before giving it a good hard kick. He hits the first target easily. ]

Like that?

Yeah, but with more focus. [The kick had been nice, but he hadn't seen anything special about it. He'd have him to try a few more times before changing his tactics.] Play as if it's really important.

[ Tenma nods once to Ryuuji before running back to retrieve his ball. Dribbling it back, he mumbles to himself- focus, focus. He lines up again and concentrates hard.

He tries his best to muster up the energy it takes to summon his avatar- that doesn't quite work, of course- and with that feeling he sends the ball flying again towards the second target. ]

[Ryuuji watches closely as the ball flies and hits. There was a little something about it off, like an odd afterglow.]

[ Tenma isn't really noticing the same things Ryuuji is. It's the first time he's trying to bring out his avatar or manage a hissatsu since he's come to Death City. That they're not working is what's mostly got his attention right now.

But he still runs and retrieves his ball, bringing it once again back to a spot where he will make another shot. Again Tenma frowns in concentration, trying to find the same energy that he uses back home. And again he sends another ball flying towards its target. And... again, it's not exactly the kind of kick he would have expected back home. ]

How am I doing, Ryuuji?

[Ryuuji frowns. This time he is sure that he saw something just now, going together with the ball. Abruptly turning away, he walks over to a nearby table that holds a pile of books and starts flipping through them.]

Fine. Keep trying, I think we've got the trace. [Manifestation.. Concentration.. Somewhere in there had to be an ability described close enough to fit.]

[ Hearing that something seems to be working gives Tenma some hope that things are working out. He might not be able to do the same fancy soccer tricks that he can at home, but at least things seem to be okay. ]

[ Tenma runs back and forth between catching his kicked soccer ball and the spot where he sends the ball back flying towards the target. He keeps focused, and manages to hit the target on each go. Turns out that morning training did kind of end up like morning soccer practice! ]

[He watches the kid have fun while going through the records, giving whatever side-effect he was causing from time to time a good lock. Once he is sure he closes the books an heads back over to Tenma with one of them with the intention to offer it to him once he is done with his game.]

Here. I'm not hundred percent sure, but it seems as if you have soul Blitz as your Meister ability. It's described in chapter three of this book, you'd do good to read all of it.

[ Tenma stops kicking the ball around when it looks like Ryuuji is all set. He runs over and listens closely to what Ryuuji has to tell him, and accepts the book when it's offered to him. ]
