Morning Training happens every day in the city, and most days get handwaved. This training log happens January 30th.

FAQ: For any character confusion or questions. Answered enthusiastically by Maito Gai.
Breakfast: Provided by the combined efforts of Cinderella, Katakura Kojuro, Saya Tagaki.
Batch 1: Beginners under the age of fifteen. Taught by Prussia, Fakir, Auron, Steve Rogers.
Batch 2: Adult beginners. Under Saber, Kaoru Kamiya, Lightning Farron, Maito Gai, Tifa Lockhart.
Batch 3: Intermediate fighters, for sparring with each other. Overseen by Hyuuga Neji and Ling Yao. Please see list of random sparrers.
Batch 4: Experienced fighters, for sparring with each other. Overseen by Selendis. Please see list of random sparrers.
Weapon transformation: How to Change into Your Weapon Form. Yuuri, Ishida Mitsunari, Spirit.
Soul Perception: If you still don’t know by now-- Any of the Soul Perception people. Luna Lovegood, Azusa.
Partner training: How to Work Together as Partners. Tassadar and Nataku. Maka and Soul. Shizuo and Motochika. Eve.
Weapons handling training: Genesis, Tenten.
Shooting range: How to shoot things 101. Grit, Vash the Stampede, Leon. Fuu Hououji (for Archery).
Meister Ability helpers: Edgeworth, Death the Kid, Ryuuji.
Medics (and First Aid Training, lead by Naomi Kimishima): All the medical people.
Audience: Because some people just want to watch.
Watch: An area closed off to the Watch members who need any sort of special training.

[She blurts that out without thinking too much about who's in the area listening. Oops.]

[She looks around, embarrassed.]

Ken-san wasn't around to hear that, was he? Tch. I've picked up too many choice phrases from The Idiot's friends...

I meant, I don't want to be involved in any war. I don't want to be around any more killing and dying! Had enough of that at home, thank you.

[lionborn]

[He smirks wryly at that, showing canines that are a bit too long and pointed for a human.]

Yeah? Same here, but I don't think what got us here gives a wet fuck about it. Ken-san? Who's that?

[megitsune]

[In a conspiratorial whisper:]

Ooooh, he's a very handsome and dashing swordsman who happens to be my personal hero. And he's around here somewhere. You'll recognize him by his big, long, manly, impressive....

[She pauses for effect]

Red hair. Hohoho.

[Oh yay. Fangirl-alarm. He doesn't look overly impressed at the description.]

A hero, huh? Shake a tree here and a couple of those will fall out every damn time. So he's up top and down a flop?

[megitsune]

[It's then that she remembers that Kenshin and Kaoru... yes. Right, she's not supposed to have those feelings anymore, is she. She waves the subject away with her hand, not wanting to dwell on it-- it's too raw at the moment.]

Ah, but he has his own things to attend to, and I have mine. I can't depend on him.

[She blinks at Leo.]

Are there really so many heroic men here? That must get tiring. A lot to look at all the time, hm?

[lionborn]

[Well, at least she's a bit more relaxed now.

Her following questions earn her a scowl, though.]

Hey, do I look like a guy who wants to waste his time looking at that? I'd be happy if they're gone.

Now, now, you can never tell. Don't take it so personally.

[Teasingly]

So what do you waste time looking at? Non-heroic men? I do some of that myself. Hoho.

[He growls, sounding more like an animal than human.]

I like girls, dammit!! Just because that bastard once called me his lover doesn't mean that I'm gay!

[MY how questionable that sounds. Megumi grins playfully.]

Yes, understood. Very well, you like girls, Mr.....?

[lionborn]

....Leo. They called me that because I'm a lion. [So much distrust in his voice. He doesn't like getting the tables turned on him like that.]

I see. Does Leo mean lion, then?

[She's trying not to gawk, she's certainly seen others around who're even more unusual. Like the dragon and the.... what is Tassadar, anyway?]

It sounds like a strong name. I've never seen a lion in person before, only heard stories about them or seen them in pictures.

I... suppose it's odd of me to tell you this, but, your eyes are beautiful. I keep trying not to stare at them because they're so striking. I don't want you to think I'm being rude.

It does, but it's not as if they put any deeper thought into it. I'm a lion-Half, so they went and called me Leo. Awfully creative, ain't it?

ah- My eyes? [and there goes the tough street punk act again as he blushes.] Stare all ya want, but most use other names for 'em.

[megitsune]

It sounds like you don't like your name, then. I... I am sorry, Leo-san, but I've never heard of a "lion half." I'm guessing it means your blood is half that of a lion?

No, I'd rather not stare. It's rude. [A tiny smile as if to say, We okay?] I'll behave myself.

[lionborn]

It's not as much the name as what it means. [and that he doesn't want to have anything to feel indebted for towards the humans who made it, and be it just a hastily scribbled down word on a form.

He glares at her for a moment but then sighs and deflates, dropping most of his thought guy act. No point keeping it up when things have gone that far already. Running a hand through his hair, he shrugs.] My mom was a lioness and my dad some human I never met. I'm a half-human, half-animal hybrid that the humans back home made using science. They don't like us very much, so I'm used to getting stares or worse.

[megitsune]

[The color drains from her face. She's heard of some brutal experiments in her own land, such as those of Hanaoka Seishu, but not quite like this.]

What a sick thing for people to do. They create people in experiments? And then... dislike and mistreat them? It makes no sense.

[lionborn]

They make us because they need us. Or rather, our offspring and blood to cure themselves. Raw material doesn't need to be treated nicely, right?

[megitsune]

[Megumi looks stricken, suddenly, at his words. Her face pales a bit, and there's a flicker of unpleasant memories that crosses her features. She says quietly, her voice a bit husky.]

No, it doesn't. And those who are useful are kept around... only until they outlive their profitability. Like the goose with the golden eggs.

[Leo pretends not to notice her reaction. He has no way of telling if it is because she led such a sheltered life that the raw reality of his world just plain shocked her or if it was due to something else, more personal. To be honest he doesn't think he even wants to know or care.

He laughs a little at her words, a small bitter sound that doesn't carry any amusement except maybe masochism.]

Exactly. So stare and ask all ya want, I'm used to way worse and don't care about it anymore. I've got te marks on my face, ya know?

[megitsune]

[She gives a rather unladylike snort to shake away her private thoughts, and then offers him a small, easy smile.]

I'm glad I've not offended you, then, Leo-san.

Have you lived here in this strange place long, perhaps? You.... seem to be somewhat at ease here, compared to myself and a few others I've noticed.

[She nods her head over yonder at some other newbies who seem suspicious or upset, or who are wandering around aimlessly and awkwardly.]

[He gives her a puzzled look at the '-san' (nobody -ever- uses that for him) but then shrugs, expression turning cynical.]

I've been here for a little over three months by now. Dunno if that makes me more used to this shit or not. [Another shrug of his shoulders pairing with a little wave of his hand.] Guess I'm just not the type to flip out much.

[megitsune]

[She huffs.]

Huh. Or perhaps you simply hide it well. I suppose I should take a page from your book in this case. Yelling about this nonsense isn't getting me anywhere... I'm still here.

[lionborn]

[He takes a drag from his cigarette. Her guess is awfully close.]

...Perhaps. And you are, whether you like it or not. What you have is the choice whether to roll over and do whatever they say or to say 'screw you!' and make your own decisions.
