Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Monday, August 30th.

There's a lot more work than one.

[He grins, moving past his friend to kneel in front of the dogs, offering his hand to the one wagging it's tail in a friendly manner. Turning his head, he looks up at his friend.]

What are their names?

[recitings]

The shaggy one is Apple. The one with shorter fur is Mei. They're both girls.

[He smiles, quite happy to see his friend bonding with them. Apple seems to be the one most eager to meet the stranger before her, sniffing at him immediately. Mei keeps her distance.]

[mentors]

[Angeal reaches out to pet apple, and immediatly goes to scratch behind her ears. The dog loves it, of course- Angeal has always been a huge fan of them, so he knows what they like.]

So you are lightening up a bit then, it's true. [He teases before standing, turning to Genesis now with a grin.] And dealing out lessons as well?

[He indicates the table beside the man.]

[recitings]

[Genesis laughs at that, then shakes his head in amusement.]

I guess you can say I took on a bit after you after a year here. But there is no way I will get into gardening.

[mentors]

I'll take that as a compliment.

[He chuckles, and it is...Nice seeing his friend like this, after everything they had gone though, Genesis had adjusted well here.]

[recitings]

Well then, is there anything you've been up to lately? Have you found any potential partners yet?

[mentors]

No, not really. Know anyone looking, Genesis?

[recitings]

None that I know of, sadly. Come to think of it... you're a Weapon, right? Have you discovered what you turn into?

[mentors]

[He smiles at that.]

I'm still working on it, but I think I have an idea already of what it might be. [He can feel it, if that made any sort of sense- Genesis was a weapon too, he should understand.]

The Buster, or something very close to it.

[recitings]

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. Sephiroth and I transform into our weapons from back home, too.

It took me a while to get over that fact: that I had to be wielded by a meister.

[mentors]

I can see how that would be a problem for you.

[Teasing!]

[recitings]

[And Genesis gives him a bit of a peeved look.]

That was roughly a year ago, mind you.

[mentors]

[He grins at the other man.]

I know. You've clearly changed since then.

[That part is said sincerely, Angeal means every word of it and in the good way.]

[recitings]

I'm... pretty glad I did.

[And as if to break the solemn atmosphere, Mei, the Shiba-Inu, starts licking at Genesis' fingers]

Hey...

[And he turns his attention towards her, giving her a fond scritching behind the ears.]

[mentors]

[Angeal smiles at that, turning his eyes down to Genesis' pet.]

So that must be the shyer of the two, huh?

[Considering Apple was leaning against his fatigues begging for earscratches (which of course, Angeal gives.), the man knows this quite well.]

How did you end up with them?

[recitings]

Yes, Mei used to be the pet of one of my subordinates in the Watch. When she went home, Mei was left in my care.

[After a few fond pets, his attention turns to his first dog, who's starting to want more active playtime, trying to nip at Angeal's hand.]

Apple was my first pet. I adopted her from the pound after my second partner left the city. I couldn't bring myself to find a new one for a while, and I was starting to feel lonely.

[The way his expression seemed wistful at the mention of his "second partner" kind of hinted that she was probably a little more than just someone Genesis fought alongside with.]

[mentors]

[It does hint at something- and that does quite surprise Angeal. He chuckles at the nips against his hand and turns, looking around the area for a ball or something.]

Does she play fetch? [Then-] I didn't know you could have more than one partner. I suppose it makes sense, if people come and go from this place. [That is an opening for his friend to tell him more, if he wished. If not Angeal will not push for the moment.]

[recitings]

Edgeworth is my third partner. For the longest time, I thought that the only partners for me were war veterans or those who live for battle. But meeting that lawyer changed all that.

[He laughs. Then he moves to a small bag beside Mei and pulls out a frisbee.]

Here. They'll definitely play catch.

[mentors]

I'm glad; He seems to be really good for you.

[He takes the frisbee from his friend, unclipping the dogs from their leashe and whistling at them before tossing the frisbee down the training area for them to chase.]

When do I get to meet him?

[recitings]

I guess so.

[He laughs, watching the dogs enthusiastically run after the frisbee. Being the more athletic dog, Apple is the first to catch it, and immediately runs back to Angeal, Mei following close by.]

You'll meet him soon enough. It's hard to miss him. He's one of the heads in charge of the Kuzunoha Detective Agency. They also help with maintaining the city's security.

[mentors]

[Angeal praises both dogs with lots of love and petting before he throws it again, further out this time.]

I can't wait. Any friend of yours is one of mine, Genesis. [And he means it- he doubts he could ever dislike anyone Genesis had become close to, at least with how the man was now.]
