Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Monday, August 30th.

[While Lee is here, he's still recovering a bit from some Sad News, so he's only maybe smiling half of the time.

It looks like the leader of the Hug Brigade is in need of a hug himself.]

anyone else, maybe, might not notice. the only reason Sasuke does is because, like it or not, Lee is not all that dissimilar to Naruto. Sasuke's gaze narrows at the other shinobi, but he doesn't venture near the Hug Brigade area. he'd learned his lesson the first time. ]

Unless he is under major duress, Lee is typically pretty good at sensing when someone is watching him. Like right now.

He looks up and notices Sasuke not that far away, but far enough to be out of arms reach. Of course, there are others out there, too, but the other shinobi's body language isn't engaged with any of the others out there nor he is doing anything that currently resembles training.

Also, he's glaring right at Lee, and that's a little hard to miss.

He doesn't really have any takers, anyway, so Lee moves away from his station to see what was on the Uchiha's mind.]

Sasuke-kun.

Sasuke's gaze rakes the other nin, follows his movements and the expression on his face. he isn't particularly close to Lee, hadn't been even before— even if he'd always respected his ability to use taijutsu.

Lee greets him and Sasuke says nothing, for long enough for it to be deemed awkward by any other.

the he reaches down and unhooks his katana from his belt, dropping it on the grass next to him. ]

LOL YO, I LATE and lee is a derp

[For a moment, Lee only stares at the katana on the ground. Then he looks up with a few confused blinks.]

If you want me to pick that up, you should at least ask.

I swear, sometimes you're as thick as your eyebrows.

[ he cocks his head briefly before shifting one foot back, dropping his weight.

the stance he takes is unfamiliar in that it's something he picked up from China, while Sasuke was training under him. wushu, which is much wider and lower than what any of them in Konoha generally use, even Lee, a taijutsu user. his palm opens up in front of him. ]

HE IS THE MOST SERIOUS

[Lee scowls at that. Wow, rude.

But the fighting stance he can get a better grasp of, and Lee's eyes widen in understanding. Well, if that's how it was going to be...

Lee falls back into his trademark stance. One hand tucked behind his back, the other arm extended before him. Bring it on, Sasuke.]

[ When Sasuke makes his first move, his stance remains low and his attack goes for Lee's torso. he hasn't fought Lee since the exams, which felt like a lifetime ago, and back then— Sasuke had his ass handed to him by the taijutsu user.

things are different now; but Sasuke doesn't have his sharingan to rely on to follow his movements. this will be all on his own skill— and though, perhaps, part of this was to draw Lee out of his own head, it was also a test of Sasuke's own prowess. ]

[The palm-open stance reminds Lee vaguely of Hyuuga technique. While it's once he's trained against, he's not betting that Sasuke learned this from Neji, even if his partner and the missing nin seem to have become friends here.

Lee's usual defense when one strikes him head-on is to side-step. But today, he's willing to try something different.

Dropping back, one hand landing on the ground, Lee moves at the land second to throw a kick aimed at Sasuke's chin and throat area; it is very similar to how he would usually kick an opponent to throw them into the air for his Lotus attacks. He doesn't have the chakra to send them that high here, but it's still a pretty brutal strike if it hits.
