EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt II [OPEN]

Description: And then it gets worse.



By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.

At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.

By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...

Well.

As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?

[It takes little effort to figure out Takuto's plan, so as soon as the word 'catch' comes out, Shinji's already holding his hand out and making to move toward the other, snatching the mask easily once it's within his reach. Only one thing to do from here, right?

Raising the mask to his face, Shinji dodges back out of the way of another one of the sword's swings.]

Apprivose!

[Check out the energy Shinji's letting out this time! Dang son. It's unfortunately not so much out of confidence as much it is out of a pressured feeling of haste, but it gets the job done. He quickly reaches out to Takuto's soul, strengthening their connection before continuing with what he remembered from their previous resonance attempt.]

Dashing entrance. [Another step back to avoid the sword.] Galactic pretty boy, Tauburn!

[And he doesn't even feel a shred of embarrassment this time! Good job, Shinji.]

[The transformation is quick and complete, golden light accompanying Shinji's words and movements as the armor flashes into place. In fact, there's even something more...

The palms are still glowing.]

Of course! [An instinctive understanding rushes through Takuto, and he twines his wavelength around Shinji's, locking their souls together. There shouldn't be any chance for misunderstanding.] Place your hand on your chest, Shinji! We have weapons!

[Maybe Takuto's familiarity with this method will bleed over to Shinji at least a little bit. But he believes in Shinji, so this has to work.] The right hand is Emeraude! The left hand is Saphir!

[Emeraude and Saphir... If these weapons followed the same circumstances as the rest of the armor, they'd probably need to be called for, just like Tauburn. And if it wasn't just a logical conclusion to come to, there's definitely something very natural feeling about the thought, perhaps aided by Takuto's own experiences. Whatever the case may be it's definitely largely Takuto's doing though, he follows the instructions easily, raising his fists to his chest as if to pull something out.]

Emeraude! [He pulls his right hand away, and then the left while continuing with,] Saphir!

[And it seems that the key to wielding Takuto is really to not overthink things. To just go with instinct and a bit of flair--or at least confidence.

Shinji's holding two very bright swords made of dazzling soul energy. Green for the right hand and a shimmering blue for the left.]

Our galaxy is shining!! LET'S GO!

[And don't overthink it. Not even Takuto really knows all the meanings of all the things he says when he says them. But right now, it feels like he and Shinji are truly sharing the radiance of the same, dazzling galaxy.

That giant sword is going down.]

[The transformation and natural draw from Takuto's weapon form are more than enough to grab the attention of the sword, drawing it away from harassing the other people nearby.

But it wouldn't be Shinji if he were to get a flawless victory right off the bat, and there's only so much weapon proficiency that can be transferred trough resonance. The giant sword comes bearing down on them, Shinji only leaving himself a very small window in order to block it and subsequently getting pushed back from the force. It doesn't knock him off his feet, but it does send a jolt of surprise into their wavelength.]

[It's just a small setback! Takuto tries not to let the jolt shock him into letting his form deteriorate.]

Keep at it! [It is frustrating on some level to be the weapon, though. Normally Takuto would already be pushing forward a counterattack and maneuvering with the skills honed over the past dozen years. But all he can do is try to keep their resonance strong and Shinji's confidence up.]

[The support from Takuto is more than enough to keep Shinji's spirits boosted - with Takuto helping him, he honestly felt like the two of them could easily overtake this foe.

Pushing his weight forward, he uses the star swords to press back against their enemy, the momentum knocking it away and giving Shinji a moment to regain his balance. He's trained enough in sizing up an enemy quickly, looking for any sort of vital points to attack, but... this was just a sword. Nothing particularly outstanding that looked like a weak point. Would they just have to keep striking at it until it went down? ... That certainly looked like the way it would be.

He gives a short exhale before charging in once more, looking for any sort of opening to strike at, relying largely on the resonance to keep his reflexes sharp enough to block any counter attacks.]

[And Takuto is somehow--he's not sure how, exactly--able to stay aware of what's going on around them. The sword is indeed a strange opponent, but there had to be some way to at least drive it off.]

Maybe it has a weak point around its hilt?

[The hilt at least has a covering that's not actually metal. Shinji may be wielding swords formed from Takuto's radiant soul energy, but that doesn't mean he can cut through steel.]
