EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt II [OPEN]

Description: And then it gets worse.



By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.

At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.

By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...

Well.

As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?

Miles Edgeworth | Agency/Shopping District/Inner City Residential District | OPEN (July 16)

[OPTION A (Agency):

There is a doll in the lobby of the Agency. You may not notice it if you're in a hurry, but it's definitely sitting there and it was most likely never there before.

Edgeworth may or may not be close by, trying to covertly retrieve it but quickly putting on a casual front whenever people notice him and/or the doll.

OPTION B (Agency and everywhere else):

Edgeworth will try to go about his usual day, running errands, carrying files, doing his usual Agency/prosecutorial work. You can chat him up but be warned - he has the magatama in his pocket and will be able to see Psyche-locks should you hide any secrets from him.

He may seem a bit distracted; he hasn't quite gotten over the fact that the magatama was back, and in his pocket, and glowing. That must mean its powers were still in full force. Why on Earth would it come to him and even appear in his pocket as a light but sudden weight dropping into it?

OOC: Please comment to the linked permission post if you haven't done so yet before you choose option B! But technically if you use Option A he will still have the magatama with him because it popped up in his pocket.]

[ So, a little magician has been doing some street shows because she wants more money and publicity. Finishing up, Trucy clears away her stage and heads back towards the communal.

It went okay, she guesses. Could have had a bigger audience but she supposes a lot of people are at work. It just means she'll have to practice a few more tricks for a proper evening show.

... And then a flash of magenta catches her eye across the street. ]

Mr. Edgeworth! Hi! [ Bounding magician with a bag full of magic tricks GET! ]

[Edgeworth stops when he hears someone calling him. He had a few folders tucked under his arm but he was in no rush, really. When he turns, he greets Trucy with a small but clearly pleasant smile.]

Hello, Trucy.

the... psycholocks!!

How are you? [ With the whole weapon/meister reversal thing, she's curious. ] Is everything okay with work?

[prosecutory]

I haven't had any more spontaneous transformations in the middle of work, if that's what you mean.

[The corners of his mouth quirk up every so slightly.]

[cardtrick]

Oh, good. [ That is what she meant, actually. ]

Do you think you'll have time to see one of my evening shows? [ Because this is clearly a life threatening thing that she needs the answer to. ]

[prosecutory]

Your evening show? I'll see if I can find the time.

[Maybe a Friday? Actually, finding time might be easier than he thinks because...evening. He could go on a Friday night since there wouldn't be much to do over the weekend anyway.]

Aaaaaa... Option A

[pishirogane]

[It's there when she walks in and she has to stop and stare. She doesn't know why, but it feels like there's a theme song playing in her head when she looks at the doll. Probably unrelated, but it does remind her of her own Featherman collectibles. A tokusatsu of this world? Maybe it belonged in lost and found...]

[Naoto decides to leave it for now, but comes back a while later thinking maybe she shouldn't leave it out... or here. It looked interesting...]

[She pauses though when she notices Edgeworth going for it. Perhaps a good thing she never stopped walking quietly.]

What are you doing, Edgeworth-san?

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth looks up from where he was headed toward the doll. He quickly pauses, and glances from Naoto to the doll. He seems...evasive, as if he was itching to just get out of wherever he was right now and hide.]

...Good day, Detective.

[The prosecutor looks upward for a moment, realizing that it would be much easier to just admit that the doll was his and then simply say that it was a mere gift.

...but then that would lead to discussing Oldbag. Which isn't a discussion he wants to get into with someone who doesn't even know her or her...er, history.]

That doll...is from my world.

[pishirogane]

[Naoto doesn't know what to make of it. From the movement he was making prior, it seemed reasonable that he would take it with him. His world and he should take care of it.]

[Though, wait a moment...]

Any idea how it got here? [Because if it somehow belonged to Edgeworth, she... doubted he would bring it himself or anything like that. Nope...]

[prosecutory]

No. When I arrived, it was already here.

[He gestures to the doll. Maybe it got there the same way the magatama entered his pocket.]

[pishirogane]

Strange... Perhaps it has something to do with BREW's recent behavior.

[... Maybe... maybe she can.] Who's the character anyway?

[prosecutory]

It's very likely.

[Urk. At this point Edgeworth knows that if he lets his mouth run too much, Naoto will think he's a fanboy. He technically IS but he doesn't need anyone to know that.]

...And that would be the Steel Samurai, hero of Neo Olde Tokyo and protagonist of its namesake television show.

Option B

[draculabackwards]

*Alucard will be in a better mood once he realizes Raidou has returned. For now he's working away, just keeping guard at the front of the Agency.*

Buna, Edgeworth.

((OOC: Ask him questions about Raidou and all sorts of fun things will happen.))

Good day, Alucard.

[And of course, Raidou will be the topic of the day.]

It seems we were correct about Detective Kuzunoha.

[draculabackwards]

Oh? What about Raidou? *Just saying his name brought all sorts of confusing feelings to the surface, the kind that might be hidden behind Pysche Locks if Edgeworth started to ask pointed questions.*

[prosecutory]

He was merely sent home temporarily.

[draculabackwards]

This is pretty much what I hope. I know it's happened before but...sometimes I fear that BREW will change the rules.

[prosecutory]

I admit that is a possibility, yes...but what we can do now is live with the rules BREW has established so far.

Is it alright if this is on the 17th or 18th so we can have demons?

[Option B]

[Raidou is trying to be discreet when he returns to the Agency; he doesn't want to alarm anyone. However, leaving his demons unsupervised seems like a bad idea, and the apartment is too small for them. At least there are only two...]

[He keeps a steady hand on Cerberus's mane as he leads the demon inside, hoping to keep it quiet. Alraune doesn't need as much guidance and simply floats over to one of the couches in the lobby and makes herself comfortable.]

[Now, how to get them into his office...]

SURE.

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth just came from brewing tea in the kitchen when he sees Raidou...

With...what are those and what are they doing in his office.]

Detective...what are those?

[Ah.

Um.

He really should have planned for this.]

My apologies, Edgeworth-san. BREW brought my demons here, and I can't just leave them to their own devices...

[prosecutory]

D-Demons...

[He just stares at Alraune, who is now comfortable on the couch, and then at Cerberus, and back to Alraune, and so on. Well, so far they seemed to behave, but what if Raidou turned his back?]

[timelessummoner]

...I did mention them before, didn't I? [He hopes he did, because otherwise this could be hard to explain.]

[Alraune is looking back at Edgeworth with interest. Cerberus makes an inquisitive growl; even though they can't speak anymore, Raidou knows them well enough to understand and gives the demon a stern glare.] No, Cerberus, you cannot eat him.

[prosecutory]

You summon them, correct?

[He steps back to put some distance between himself and Cerberus.]
