Description: And then it gets worse.



By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.

At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.

By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...

Well.

As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?

U-uuh.... [Very intelligent of you, Takuto. But he's finally gotten control of his eyes and is staring very hard at the ground, his face a brilliant shade to match his hair. WHY IS SHE HOVERING OVER HIM?!]

...C-can I help y-you? [He should help her find her clothes! Or--or something! This encounter is bound to get him in trouble....]

[Oh, how troublesome. This not-talking business is making things difficult. She pouts and tries to tug him over towards the counter.]

...Alraune? Alraune, where are you?

[Oops, her summoner is calling for her from outside. Quickly now, human, she wants her sugary goodness before he comes to spoil her fun!]

[Other voices are totally not making it into his consciousness at this point. He's being tugged along by a flying, naked woman. Into a candy shop of all places. It's like a horrible metaphor that he is powerless to get away from.

He swallows, trying to get a hold of himself a little as he fixes his eyes on the treats underneath the glass counter.] S-so, um, you want some c-candy?

[Everyone else is staring at him--well, probably at her--but it looks like he's with her. So. Maybe it's best to get this over with as fast as possible?]

G-girls like chocolate, right? So how about some chocolate raisins? Th-they look good....

[He signals the nonplussed girl behind the counter with his eyes, and she starts packaging up some of the chocolate raisins with agonizing slowness.]

[Alraune is pleased! She clings to his arm while waiting eagerly for the treat. Now if the summoner would just not interrupt--]

...Alraune, what are you doing.

[Too late. Raidou has poked his head in, his tone rather flat.]

[Takuto isn't sure whether to feel cornered and vulnerable, or whether to just signal with wide eyes that he needs an adult. Somehow he ends up passing a deathdollar note to the cashier (who is now watching the exchange with a bit of a smile) and receiving the chocolate-covered raisins.]

U-um, do you two know each other?

[Please say yes please say yes--if this gets worse and his girlfriend finds out he might be in a lot of trouble....]

[Raidou is too busy kicking himself for letting her out of his sight to realize that's probably a somewhat alarming thing to say.]

Alraune, what did I say about wandering off on your own?

[The demon looks a bit sulky at this and tugs Takuto's arm again. She wants her raisins. :(]

[Well, good on you for having a sexy demon. When Takuto'd had a demon, it'd been his partner who was more of a cowboy than anything else. And he certainly didn't float around in nothing but some wispy vines.

Still, the demon--Alraune?--is still clinging to him so he might as well... give her what they came here for. Though it's something of a trial to speak to her and give her the raisins without actually looking at her.]

E-er, here.

[Alraune happily takes her prize and pets Takuto's shoulder briefly before floating away. Raidou gives her a stern look, to which the demon merely giggles. Victory~!]

I'm sorry she bothered you. Please, allow me to pay you back for that.

N-no, it's okay.

[He did buy it of his own free will, after all. Sort of. But the truth is that it'd be even more embarrassing to get paid back for it by this guy (while he's still in the shop, too...).]
