Description: And then it gets worse.



By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.

At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.

By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...

Well.

As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?

Well, you have been standing there and it isn't as if it has killed you. [ At least, otherwise he wouldn't be standing here anymore, so the conclusion she's getting from this is that it can't be all that bad.. ]

[Now he does start to move closer, glancing back at her.]

[ Masako opens her mouth and then closes it. It's not like she's actually worried, right? No way, she can't show concern for other people, that's what she's always been taught. But even so, this is just.. just stupid..

After a troubled moment, she speaks up again-- ]

Are you daft? You're going to just get yourself hurt. Is it worth that?

[Psii considers question.]

[Seems even harder than usual to get pronoun out.]

Know sounds strange to describe inanimate object as enemy, but that's what this has been.

[He's not sure it's accurate to describe ship as 'inanimate,' but she already thinks he's out of his pan.]

Still, perhaps getting yourself hurt when you could've easily ignored its existence in this place.. [ It's something she can't understand very well. Masako's range of emotional understanding only goes as far as her own feelings, and this is beyond that limit. ]

[ It doesn't sound really snappy or insulting though, more like it's a conclusion of what she said before. ]

[Psii makes sound that's almost a laugh.]

[He goes closer still, enough that when thick bioware cables move, is sure they're reacting to his closeness.]

Would not advise your coming any closer.

[ At least she's being fully honest about that. Masako doesn't plan to get herself hurt, so even if she's not exactly walking away, she's still watching from the safe distance she was standing at. ]

[It's old guilt, but seems to settle on shoulders as easily as if had never been lifted: worry that, through ship, he'll get someone hurt or killed. Will be the reason they're hurt or killed.

Nearest wire curls up, reaches for Psii--he's sure there's intent behind motion this time. Knows there are defenses, better than anyone, but he's still more surprised than hurt when electric shock hits him.

It's relatively mild, only enough to make him recoil, and suck on zapped claw for a moment. And look back, feeling rather like woolbeast.]

Suppose you might be right.

.. Hm. I'm glad you're finally starting to see my point.

[ She seems relatively calm for someone who's watching another person get shocked, but it's also just the fact it didn't look too bad and then Masako being Masako on top of it.. she crosses her arms across her chest, raising an eyebrow. ]

[Psii backs up, his expression dark. Feels, though he knows it's irrational--would have been irrational even when was part of ship--less actually wounded than betrayed.]

No. Maybe had better not.

[Look he's giving piece of ship's interior is one that would say to a human or another troll This isn't over yet.]

I'm glad to see you at least have some sort of common sense. [ That's probably as much of a compliment as anyone's ever going to get out of Masako, so.. be glad with it, I guess..

She's not walking away though. He's still closer to the ship than she is, so maybe he's just pretending to give up - and she's not entirely sure why, but a part of her feels like she at least wants to make sure he's safe before just walking away and leaving him alone. ]

[Psii has enough experience with her way of speaking by now that is pretty sure recognizes the compliment as such.]

Do exhibit some every once in a while.

[Is she going to make sure he's really leaving ship behind? He takes a reluctant step away from it.]

[ To fully step away from it.. yes, she doesn't even dare to admit out loud that she's waiting. Or if she would, she'd just somehow manage to twist it around, probably. ]

[Turns fully away from ship now, tension of being poised for action leaving him, until shoulders sag slightly.]

You're waiting for... me, correct?

I'm.. [ She opens her mouth to say that, like she's about to make up an excuse, but it being pointed out that obviously is like a surprise to her so the excuse doesn't come as easily. Instead Masako huffs as she flips her curls a little and turns. ]

Don't get ridiculous ideas.

[Psii isn't positive he caught her, but is sure enough that, even though doesn't say 'thank you,' it's in his tone.]

Wouldn't dream of it.

That's good, at least.

[ She still seems a little huffy though, and since he acutally got far away enough from the thing to seem relatively safe, Masako decides to just get out of here before she gets embarassed further. She doesn't even want to bother and explore that weird feeling of worry she just got, mostly she just wants to put it out of her mind.

So with a dismissive hand gesture she turns to walk away for now. ]

[She's going? Apparently. Psii wonders if offended her somehow, but knows enough about human (and troll) nature to know that someone offended is all too easy to make more so.]

[Thinks that will at least not make things worse, and, true to word (for now) he also keeps moving away from ship, in different direction from one she chose.]
