EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt II [OPEN]

Description: And then it gets worse.



By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.

At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.

By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...

Well.

As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?

[Neji hummed a short note, relinquishing his hands]

Would you prefer I transform?

You do not have to... [If anything, holding Neji's hands was more personal than grasping his weapon form. Lee liked this.

And with that, Lee closed his eyes again and concentrated, this time allowing his resonance to meld easily with Neji's. Their souls seamlessly enveloped one another and warmth spiked through Lee, something akin to arousal but sweeter.

The intensity and intimacy of their bond was delicious but Lee couldn't let that distract him. He again turned his mind to his natural strengths and talents, his hard work, his determination...]

[It sometimes didn't feel right to resonate with Lee in public. Theirs was such a close, intimate bond that he feared telegraphing everything without meaning to when they were linked.

But he sat there and simply allowed Lee to concentrate- a mockery of meditation through resonance if he ever saw one, but kept the thought to himself. If Lee didn't think of it as meditation, maybe it wouldn't seem like a chore]

[It wasn't the same! Or so Lee would have claimed. But they weren't arguing about it any more. Lee was focusing on his ability.

His ability. Lee was a Meister now. He had to figure it out so he could better support Neji... Though now, he was the one going into the fight. Neji was technically his support. It was a Weapon's duty to protect their Meister after all. But what did that mean Lee would bring to the table?

Lee did not easily give up his pursuit. He traced every ability he knew he honestly had back home, finally leading him to his awesome speed. He had felt it before, but he didn't dare believe that could be it, playing it off as just wishful thinking. But now that Lee was concentrating on it, he felt something stir within him. There was a restlessness that came with it, a need to run, right then, and to take off like a falling star.

Opening his eyes, Lee looked at Neji. He swallowed.]

I think... I figured it out.

[Neji waited, a well of patience as he ever was, quietly encouraging. It didn't come immediately, though Lee's eyes did open more quickly than he'd anticipated.

Neji tipped his head, feeling some of his Meister's restlessness]

What is it, Lee?

[Lee's lips turned up into a smile.]

I can show you.

[And before his Meister Weapon could protest, Lee yanked him up onto his shoulders, stood to his feet and began to run.]

[The movements were swift and startling, and Neji found himself on Lee's shoulders in the span of a few seconds.

No.]

L-Lee!

[But it was too late- the Meister had already started running and Neji didn't need them to break anything by deliberately overbalancing his teammate. He clutched at Lee for dear life as scenery whipped by at an unnatural speed he'd only felt wielding Lee when necessary.

More than finished with the display and well of humiliation however, Neji reached for his soul and abruptly transformed, falling about Lee's neck]

[Joy surged through Lee from the top of his head to the tips of his toes as he raced along at breakneck speeds. Neji felt weightless on his shoulders, nothing compared to the boulders he used to carry back home, and he laughed, happy at finding his ability at last.

When Neji transformed, Lee merely kept his grasp on the chain, running a bit longer until he was satisfied. Coming to a slow halt, Lee panted and grinned, feeling invincible.]

We found it, Neji!

[Lee's elation surged through him, easing his prickly pride, but not erasing it completely. He was relieved that they had both managed to find their abilities, however]

It seems that way. Your speed in addition to Jyuuken will surely prove interesting. That more or less seemed to be our resonance attack before, after all.

True! Though I wonder if we will still be able to perform our resonance attack. I would think it would be somewhat modified...

[It was a little sad. They had only just discovered the attack but then the switch had occurred. Oh well. It was better that they still had each other, after all.]

Shall we head home for the day, then?

[heavenly_earth]

Probably.

[It would be a little redundant for their attack to remain the same as their natural abilities, after all.]

We'll rediscover it in time.

[Neji transformed back, pivoting off of Lee in a smooth motion. As for heading back..]

I suppose.. There isn't much I can do about the objects still appearing around the city.

It seems the objects that are appearing tend to have something in common with at least one person who has been brought here. I would not worry beyond that, Neji, unless we were asked to help with one.

[It was as simple as that in Lee's eyes.]

I know, but they're causing a fair of trouble on patrols..

[He felt bad going home early sometimes, particularly when things like this happened]

I suppose there isn't much I'd be doing about it if I stayed, however. If they need me, everyone knows how to contact me.

Exactly.

[Lee reached over and gave Neji's shoulder a squeeze, letting his fingers linger there a moment longer.]

... When we get home, I will give you a massage.

[Neji grunted a short note, sighing. A massage did sound good..]

Alright, let's go home, then.
