By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.

At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.

By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...

Well.

As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?

I figure only the typical non-opening store windows in the front...

[Not only did the Prize Pod not go out the door as Lily intended, it went in completely the opposite direction, into the back room and then fled through a small window in there.]

[Lily was a bit surprised to see that Aqua had run in with a partially transformed arm. Had she been chasing the thing, too?]

I'm fine although the shop's going to need tidying. What was that critter?

[Seeing that it wasn't here she let her arm return to normal.]

...it's something that I fought back home. The one you just saw is harmless though. All it does is run away and drop ice cream ingredients when you hit it.

Ice cream ingredients? [She repeated bemused.] It's a flying pot of sugar from your world? But why fight it if it's harmless?

That's...really the only reason for it.]

They're one of the creatures my Master told me to take out. They're not dangerous on their own, but they seem to attract Darkness.

Your master? I take it you mean some kind of fighting teacher. But what do you mean that creature attracts darkness?

[That did sound more concerning... Would it draw spirits or demons or things of that sort?]

That was one of the roles he took on. [He was also the closest thing she had to a father but she's...going to steer away from that if she can.]

Feelings like hate and rage creates Darkness in the hearts of people. And these creatures...they are usually surrounded by people consumed by their own Darkness. [Or maybe it was the other way around.]

So, it can make people hateful and angry if they're near it? [Uh, oh. That sounds a bit like the type of thing a demon's influence could stir up. She looks towards the window where it escaped.] Do you know how to find it again then?

Yes. [She's seen it happen, after all.] I'm...not sure. [She sighs.] They usually just show up.

There's no way to track it then? Is there anything I can do if it comes in here again?

Not really. [She shook her head a little.] Just...try to stay away from it and contact me. [Er. She reaches into her pocket to grab her communicator.] I'll give you my network ID.

Okay, let me find some paper... [She went to the counter to grab a pen and an old dry cleaning receipt. Her communicator still usually stayed at the apartment.]
