EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt II [OPEN]

Description: And then it gets worse.



By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.

At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.

By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...

Well.

As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?

[Then, the witch realized she was talking with a rat which already flew in the face of logic anyway. Dropping the subject of sun goddess genetics…]

But how did you get here? Amaterasu never mentioned you. [Or at least, never indicated anyone else from her home world was here.]

[Being in Death City already made logic jump out a window. It just sprouted wings now.]

Because I just got here? Why would she speak of someone not present? [The rat glances around] Where is 'here' anyway?

[Nose twitch as he sniffed]

Just got here? Does she even know you're here then? She likes to nap around this park a lot. [And she glances around, looking for Amaterasu.] And this place is called Death City.

Most likely she doesn't. I can smell her, but she's here. [The round ears rise slightly] Death City?

[More sniffs and no more questions about it. The name seems appropriate for the middle of the desert.]

That's what this town is called. Kind of morbid, if you ask me. And if she is your mother, I reckon I should turn you over to her.

[She turns to walk towards the flowerbed where Amaterasu likes to nap—or rather where the flowerbed used to be before the sandstorm wrecked it—expecting him to follow. Maybe, the wolf would be there?]

*not. That word vanished on me

We will meet in time so there's no need, Miss.

[Still, the rat follows along still carrying the sword.]

[As she moves through the park, looking for the wolf, Lily can't help wondering...]

How do you manage to carry that thing anyway?

[If someone doesn't look closely enough to spot the tiny wielder, it almost looks as if the sword is moving on its own.]

What do you mean? It isn't heavy.

[Haunted sword! But no; the white fur would probably be seen at a second glance.]

It looks like it'd be heavy for someone your size.

[And she finally spots the wolf in the distance, calling out as she approaches.]

There you are! I reckon I've found something of yours.

[motherofthesun]

It isn't.

[He really doesn't get this human. In the distance, there is indeed Amaterasu, having wandered out after feeling that she needed to. Her ears shot up at Lily's call, but eyes immediately move passed at the sight of the rat. Without a word, the rat moves ahead of Lily in a scampering sprint, coming before the wolf before she moves any further.]

Greetings, Origin of Good and Mother to Us All. This human has told me this is Death City and--

[He is cut off though by the large wolf who licks him fervently all while her tail wags, even squeaking loudly as he's knocked back.]

I take it that rat really is your kid then...

[Amaterasu certainly seems happy to see him!]

[Amaterasu raises her head for a moment and nods, but with a snort. Why would you think otherwise? The rat takes that change to get up and fix his fur]

I told her, but she didn't believe me.

[Another huff from Amaterasu and she seems to roll her eyes.]

For being in a another world, I agree.

Well, wolves don't usually have rats as children where I come from...

[Although she feels kind of silly stating something that obvious.]

[Amaterasu's ears turn forward, offended]

Mother Amaterasu don't have normal children. Why would we have to be wolves too?

[The wolf grumbles slightly]

Strange considering she saw my markings.

[At that point, Lily just shrugs and gives up on trying to figure that part out out but...]

What would markings have to do with it?

[Amaterasu and the rat exchange looks before looking back at Lily.]

Our markings can't be seen by humans unless they believe in spirits. Still, Mother has said this BREW has allowed everyone to see them.

[OOC: What is with my grammar these days? *doesn't in that last post.]

Huh? Why's that? So, folks in your world who don't believe in spirits would think you were just plain white?

That's right.

[Amaterasu huffs again. Still, that's how it is.]

[Maybe, like how she could sense spirits back home even if she was no good at actually talking to ghosts.]

[She finally notices something as she looks up at a nearby tree.]

Wait a minute... That tree wasn't here yesterday, was it?

[motherofthesun]

[Okay, that realization has Amaterasu grinning. The rat can already figure out what happened.]

[And it's not just a sapling so it's not as if someone planted it after she left yesterday... She glances over at Amaterasu, noticing the grin.]

Do you know anything about this?

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu doesn't look back, but the rat doesn't mind translating]

She used bloom to fix the garden.

[Looking around, she realizes it isn't just one tree. There's a couple more nearby and some flowers.]

Bloom? Like what you did with your tail yesterday?

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu woofs in confirmation.]

Don't get carried away with your abilities.

[Walking around more, she realizes it isn't just a few flowers. All of her herbs that had been crushed by the sand have returned as well as other greenery in the area.]
