EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt II [OPEN]

Description: And then it gets worse.



By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.

At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.

By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...

Well.

As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?

Aqua | Outside Metokkori R and then to the rest of the city | July 16th | OPEN

[The Hikan Cafe was a place Aqua went to often, especially since she really liked the cakes they had there.

She usually stopoped by Metokkori R first though, to say hello to Keroro. Today, though, she heard something move when she got the door partially open. She looked down the hall curiously...and froze.

There was a Prize Pod hovering there, bobbing silently before it jumped and took off. Aqua instantly let go of the door to give chase.]

((OOC: Feel free to run into either the Prize Pod or Aqua! Chances are, if you're a Meister she might ask for your character's help whether she knows them well or not! The Prize Pod will mostly just run away though.))

[prosecutory]

[And while walking through the streets, surprise Prize Pod -

Before Edgeworth could wonder what it is, it takes off, rounding a corner and leaving a very confused and surprised prosecutor in its wake.]

What was that...?

Wow this is late. So sorry for that!

[blue_wayfinder]

[And Aqua is, of course, following after it still. She missed seeing it round the corner though, so she stopped.

Oh, hey. This is a face she hasn't seen in a while. Still, she shakes off her surprise quickly and her expression turns serious.]

Excuse me, did you see something...that looks like a flying pot go by? It's green, gold and black.

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth gets the vague feeling he has met her before too, but this isn't exactly the best time for a trip down memory lane.

He nods.]

Yes, I saw it pass that corner. [He points.]

[She nods then pauses, suddenly worried.]

It didn't attack you did it? [It's never done that to her in her travels...then again, she had a Keyblade.]

[prosecutory]

[A shake of the head.]

No. Does it attack?

[blue_wayfinder]

It's never attacked my friends or me, but I'm not sure if it's because we had weapons that could actually hurt it.

[She's glad though to hear that it hadn't attacked anyone here so far, enough that some of the tension eases from her shoulders though she's clearly still on alert.]

[prosecutory]

Then, it can only be killed with a specific weapon?

[He glances briefly at his arm. As a bladed Weapon, he had a partial form...but he was not exactly eager to use it.]

[blue_wayfinder]

Yes. [They're kind of like Kishin Eggs in that way.] Luckily, I turn into that weapon so it shouldn't be a problem.

[prosecutory]

Presently, or before BREW changed everyone's designations?

*Was is good or bad that Auron's been so conditioned by weirdness that instead of being surprised at a giant hovering prize pod, he just stares at it for a few moments?*

[Well, Aqua is more-or-less in the same boat to be honest and probably would have had the same reaction if she didn't, you know, actually know what this thing was.

The Prize Pod, hovered only a little longer before trying to take off.

Aqua, who was still chasing after it, called out.]

Don't let it get away!

*Auron draws his sword and runs to follow.* Why? What is it and what does it do?

[It runs away and drops ice cream ingredients when you hit it.

Somehow that doesn't sound particularly intimidating.]

It's a creature I fought, called an Unversed. This one isn't really dangerous but I'd rather not take any chances.

*Tidus would have been all over that.* So they're enemies where you're from? *All the more reason to follow and try to slash with his giant pigsticker.*

Yes.

[They finally corner it in an alley that, due to the way Death City is ;ayered like a cake, is a dead end.

It's now or never.]

Will it try to attack us when we rush in? *It's usually good to have an idea of how badly something will take to being stabbed with a sword.*

[Aqua might hear a din from one of the shops on the first floor. The Prize Pod had flown into Yesterday's Magic, hovering around the shop and knocking over a hat rack. Not sure what to make of the strange critter, Lily grabbed the broom she normally used for sweeping the sidewalk outside and chased it, trying to get it out of the shop.]

Get out! Scoot!

I can edit if there aren't actually windows...

[It got it to move, though maybe having it jump out a window wasn't exactly what Lily had in mind.

Aqua, hearing the kerfuffle, rushed inside with her arm partially transformed.]

Are you okay?

I figure only the typical non-opening store windows in the front...

[Not only did the Prize Pod not go out the door as Lily intended, it went in completely the opposite direction, into the back room and then fled through a small window in there.]

[Lily was a bit surprised to see that Aqua had run in with a partially transformed arm. Had she been chasing the thing, too?]

I'm fine although the shop's going to need tidying. What was that critter?

Probably, yeah...

[Seeing that it wasn't here she let her arm return to normal.]

...it's something that I fought back home. The one you just saw is harmless though. All it does is run away and drop ice cream ingredients when you hit it.

Ice cream ingredients? [She repeated bemused.] It's a flying pot of sugar from your world? But why fight it if it's harmless?

[Because it's an Unversed.

That's...really the only reason for it.]

They're one of the creatures my Master told me to take out. They're not dangerous on their own, but they seem to attract Darkness.

Your master? I take it you mean some kind of fighting teacher. But what do you mean that creature attracts darkness?

[That did sound more concerning... Would it draw spirits or demons or things of that sort?]

That was one of the roles he took on. [He was also the closest thing she had to a father but she's...going to steer away from that if she can.]

Feelings like hate and rage creates Darkness in the hearts of people. And these creatures...they are usually surrounded by people consumed by their own Darkness. [Or maybe it was the other way around.]
