Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 4th.

[Akiha gestures to the table behind her where there is a paper for signups and a basket of SEES armbands.]

Right there. Put your name, address, whether you're a meister or weapon and if you have a permanent partner, list their name at the end.

Alright.

[Karina goes over to the table and does so, filling up everything except for the blank after "Partner". So partnerships in this city were long term, were they... interesting.

She speaks to Akiha again after she fills out the form.]

Say, what's your name? I'm Karina.

I'm Tohno Akiha. My partner, Sion Eltnam Atlasia, and I tend to be more on the security side of SEES than the community service side. We also help with new arrivals when missions allow us the time.

If you're more interested in the community service bit, I suggest speaking more with Tatsumi Kanji. I don't know what the current projects are.

[gonext]

I see... actually... I can help with both.

[ritsu_kouyou]

[Akiha raises an eyebrow and then looks Karina over again, this time with more focus... and more judgment, of course.]

And which do you have a preference for?

[gonext]

... [Karina is silent for the slightest moment. If she chooses one, it would show that she's not just some musician. But on the other hand, a part of her still wants to be a hero in some way.]

Security.

[When she delivers her answer, she does so with a confident, beaming smile.]

[ritsu_kouyou]

You don't look like much in a fight. What are you trained in?

[gonext]

Self-defense, mostly. But I can take down people, too. I've been my own security during concerts.

[And she's not joking either. But the weirdness of her reason might just give her identity as a superhero away. But admitting she's both a pop star and a superhero sounded way too out of this world.]

[ritsu_kouyou]

Self-defense doesn't help much when you're protecting other people.

[gonext]

[Okay, Karina shouldn't have said that. So she tries to justify her answer instead.]

But the techniques employed in self-defense do help when you can get between an attacker and his victim. I've done it a few times.

[ritsu_kouyou]

And what then, when their focus and effort continues to stay on their target despite your presence between them?

[Really, Akiha's just being a bitch - half because she can and half because if she has to work next to Karina, she may as well get this out of her system now.]

[gonext]

Well, there's no other choice but to be all the more persistent and make sure to use an attack against them to keep them from moving until the proper authorities make it to the scene.

[Two can play at the bitch game. Karina's tone had gone from pleasant to something more serious and pointed.]

[ritsu_kouyou]

And how would one skilled in self-defense know the correct offensive attack? [She smirks a little.] There's no need to answer that. I'm sure you'll eventually learn.

[gonext]

[And it's times like these Karina wished she was more comfortable with telling the truth, no matter how outlandish it was. But well, she'll roll with the punches.]

Does that mean you offer training for those who want to help out with security?

[If Karina gets the chance to really show off what she can do, then why not?]

My method of training others is hard to handle. I suggest learning from the instructors here. They're more inclined to keep the kid gloves on when needed.

[gonext]

You're really convinced I'm a total amateur, huh?

[ritsu_kouyou]

Until I am given a reason to believe otherwise, I think such of everyone that BREW brings here. Don't take it personal.

[Akiha doesn't care enough to make it personal.]

If you say so.

[Now Karina feels absolutely determined to make sure people see her as more than just some pretty performer.]

I do.

[Akiha fishes one of the armbands out and offers it to Karina.]

This is for official SEES business.

[gonext]

Alright.

[She takes the armband. Her training gear has no pockets, though, so she'll just hold on to it for now.]

[ritsu_kouyou]

Try not to lose it. [Akiha turned back to the items on the table, neatening it up.] Our office, you could say, is at Triple-A.

[gonext]

Got it. Do I need to report there on a regular basis?

[ritsu_kouyou]

I would suggest checking in once a week to see if there are any pending matters. Otherwise, we use DEMISE for a lot of coordination unless there is a large issue we need to take care of.

[gonext]

All right. [Karina nodded. She certainly will be doing that.]
