[Event] Invasion!
Characters: OPEN to everyone!
Location: All over Death City
Rating: Various
Time: February 2nd
Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!
The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.
Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.
Their masterful plan has begun!

[Kanji][Streets/All morning][Open]
When Kanji heard something was coming, he went into action: He closed his windows and locked them tight, drawing down the curtains. Giving Iza enough provisions to last her at least the next day or so and giving the kitten a farewell pet for now, he set out. His room was locked up tight behind him.
The teen's hand went to his coat pocket and retrieved his glasses, slipping them on without a thought as he charged down the stairs and out of Creeping Crypt.
The dead shambled in the streets, accompanied by awful black shadows above. Creepy things crawled in the alleyways, biting and spitting to cause as much damage and mayhem as possible.
Good... he needed to get some payback for the Madness from the other day. Though remnants of the Black Blood still lingered in his system, his awareness of it kept it suppressed save for the occasional twitch.
With no Weapon currently at his side, Kanji found and grasped a length of lead pipe before getting to work. It was crude, but effective for denting some zombie skulls.
(ooc: Action or Prose is up to you, will follow suit. Let's fight some monsters!)
no subject
He didn't have a Weapon anymore, and despite his psionic powers being limited to what they were in this world, the templar still had his claws to fight with. His normally blue gaze was burning a bright yellow as the ten foot alien crashed down to the ground from one of the nearby rooftops.
There were the undead beginning to swarm the area, and the moment he'd landed, the protoss warrior rushed in to begin swiping viciously at any one of them that was within reach.
awesoooome
Upon smelling that of the living, the zombies that wandered in the immediate area with no purpose moved, groaning. The teen roared and charged, braining one zombie, two, and threw a fist into a third as they hit the cobble like sacks of laundry. Go for the head or spinal cord... he would remember the advice given earlier. Kanji'd done plenty in the last year alone, but never thought he'd be taking out legit zombies.
Then came a very heavy footfall from his left, and after bringing the lead pipe down on another half-rotted cranium, Kanji turned. Eyes widened. What... what the hell was that!?
Whatever it was, it was fighting the same enemy. Good enough for him, but he'd keep this newcomer in his sights just in case. The teen shifted in his step and jump-kicked another undead, sending it backward, before closing the distance and colliding a fist with its mug. However, he was starting to become surrounded...
xDDDDD
Eyeing it suspciously, the templar noted how the body merely fell to the ground in a dead heap. Was it possible that these slower versions did not have the same type of danger? If they did not explode on contact, then he had nothing to concern himself over any longer.
He dove right back into battle in the next moment, slicing his claws violently at any of the undead flesh that stumbled in his direction. Tassadar did, however, take note of the situation the human near him had gotten himself into. Crouching down, he used his powerful legs to leap up and over the creatures attempting to sink their flat teeth into him. Landing gracefully despite his large form, Tassadar began to dash over towards where the human was being surrounded.
Eyes glowing a bright yellow, he swiped out in a wide arch to knock two of the zombies away from getting to the human. Telepathically speaking, he commanded to the human in a booming voice, "This way!"

But he swung anyway, managing to kick one away, swung and strike at another, and throw a fist before he saw that very, very tall figure rush in and knock aside two of the zombies like dolls.
Kanji twitched and his eyes widened a bit when a voice touched his mind. After hearing voices and whispers for the last two days, it was still an unnerving experience. However, he knew for a fact that whatever this thing was, it was very real.
The teen nodded and complied, giving a parting swing to an undead that was too close for comfort, braining it from the side.

Giroro had to jump to actually get the zombies in the head (being two feet tall and all) but this isn't the first, or last time, he's fought enemies larger than him. Though, admittedly, he usually had more than a french knife he'd swiped from Keroro's kitchen to fight with. It was mostly a matter of jumping the first one, then all he had to do was push off from there at the next enemy, jumping from one to another, stabbing them in the head or neck as he did.
f-froggie
He shouldn't be surprised to see so many strange creatures like this here, but seeing the little guy bust some zombie ass was awesome on its own.
Still, he wouldn't just sit and stare. The lead pipe was swung in, cracking down on undead cranium in a rather messy fashion, sending the creatures falling where they stood to give this thing some room.
The funny thing is that Kanji is around 4 feet taller than Giroro. XD
When he had to land for a moment somewhere close to the person (a Pekoponian male) he looked up and gave him a quick nod, acknowledging him as an ally before moving to take down another zombie.
Hopefully they'll be able to clear this area without any complications...
Yyyup.
The teen focused, slammed a fist into the face of the closest zombie within range, then adjusted his soul wavelength, forming a shockwave to his right to shove that group back and off their feet to clear some room.
"Meister! You?" He'd asked without a thought. If this was a Guest he could resonate with, their strength would increase and turn this entire struggle around. If not, they would just have to make do. The little dude was fast and knew how to get the job done, Kanji'd grant him that.

Re: [Kanji][Streets/All morning][Open]
She's trying to thin the zombie crowds as much as she can, though the smell is overwhelming and making her a bit dizzy. Her normal cane isn't quite doing much, either. It would be much better if she had her swords and could just cut through the horde, but at the moment she has to make due with busting heads. She just barely recognizes Kanji's scent under the stink of all that rot, and honestly it's a relief. She only really knows the guy from Yosuke's funeral, but any ally is better than nothing.
"Hey!"
no subject
He heard a shout and looked up, brandishing the makeshift weapon in his hands. Kanji spotted a familiar horned girl among the chaos, and recognized her from the funeral.
"Get the hell outta here!" He shouted, bringing down the pipe upon two more skulls, dodging the swipe from a third. He cleared a path to her. If he had to bodily carry her to one of the makeshift shelters, so be it.
no subject
There is pretty much no way she's going to let him carry her off without a fight. It's incredibly frustrating to have so many people here act like she's just a kid in situations like this.
no subject
There were times to protest, to tell people to get their asses to safety, but being surrounded by the walking dead, gigantic spiders and acid-spitting ants was definitely not one of them. Besides, if she came out this far without having a limb chewed off, she was more formidable than most.
"Fine!" He managed, got tired of hearing this asshole groaning to his right, and slammed the back of his fist into its face.
"Let's get this area cleaned up!"
I'M SORRY I'm a terrible person I had guests visit ;;
Nah, don't worry about it!

Team up?
The zombie moaned pathetically, wriggling on the ground in the spider's web, but was mostly ignored as Naoto set her focus on the spider. She really didn't want to deal with this, but... she glanced at her gun. No, she had to conserve ammunition.
"Tch..."
Hell yeah!
Leaving a path of downed zombies and severely-disabled (some legless) ants in his wake, he'd press on until he found his first sign of real trouble: The zombies he could handle, but the large insects were a bigger threat. The ants spat something he did not want to be covered with to find out exactly what it was, and the spiders... the spiders were fast and they bite, if they didn't wrap you up to eat alive later.
Kanji turned a corner and found someone standing off against one of the large spiders, and moved without contemplating the situation further, went into a full-on sprint when he recognized who it was. Zombies groaned and moved to grab him, slow him down, but his assault was reduced to a shove, an elbow to just get them out of the way.
The teen skidded to a stop at her side, but then turned sidelong to keep an eye behind.
"Sup. Need a hand?"
Awesome!
He was certainly a relief to see at a time like this. Without bothering to waste time, she grabbed his hand. A spider was a formidable foe if they were simply left to lead pipes and other various items, but they could resonate... at least, she certainly hoped they could.
While holding his hand, she shifted forms, taking on her Weapon form. She didn't bother asking if he wanted a gun or a sword, he would have to use the gun for now as the spider was coming again.
no subject
He was no arachnophobe by any means, but this was a large funnel web with fangs the size of his freaking hand. Resonance was a little shaky at first when he retreated another two steps, firing a burst or two against the cobble to slow it down, give him a little room. Kanji still needed a little practice before he could quickly establish a connection while engaged in combat.
But that moment was enough and his Soul Wavelength held, considerably stronger than their last attempt even if a part of it kept the Black Blood remnants at bay. Getting on the offensive now, he pressed forward, firing into the face of the thing, most other parts of it too damn chitinous to bother.
You okay?

Emil had his sword out, slashing at another zombie as he called out to the other boy he saw fighting with what looked like a makeshift weapon. He dodged another one (was there any end to these things?), whirled around to make sure nothing was sneaking up behind him while he had his back turned, reversed back, and shouted again.
"How's that thing holding it so far? You think it's gonna last as long as these things keep coming?"
And that was it for the moment - another one was already headed his way, so it was time to deal with that guy too. Another slash to get a little distance between them, a stab in the chest to stave it off...
no subject
"I'll make it last!" He snarled, half-distracted. To be honest, by the time Kanji had encountered Emil, he was on his third piece of plumbing used as weaponry. He let the lie hang as he swung a backhanded punch, sending another undead sprawling.
no subject
Emil himself fought best with his sword, however, so he continued as he was doing and cut a deep gash into the arm of one zombie who'd gotten a little too close, kicking that one away with one foot and using the momentum to twist around and take on another. He'd been out here for a little while, but as far as he could see the streets looked no different from how they'd been when he first began. "Damn. How many of these things do they have?"
no subject
"Dunno!" He replied simply, and with a growl brought the pipe down again, slamming it atop a half-deteriorated skull. Kanji winced when a bit of gore hit him in the face. He hated when that happened.
"But that Witch has gotta have limits to how many she can keep goin' at once!" One less zombie, ant, and spider was just one less problem. He was sorely regretting parting ways with Naoto for the time being... paired with a Weapon, either one of the Meisters could single-handedly clear out this street and the surrounding areas.
There was a screech from overhead, and Kanji knew their problems just multiplied.
"Tch! We got incoming! Can you handle the raven? I'll keep this shit back!"

The End Is Near
Hair haphazardly escaping from her white kerchief, she looked desperately up and down the street, worrying a red-stained lower lip as she surveyed the scene. It was likely there were more wounded around, she knew it. She couldn't just leave and get to safety, not when she knews that those young people she saw at the Morning Training were out there fighting on her behalf.
Nearing the limit of her endurance but nowhere near ready to give up, Megumi hefted her medicine chest onto her back once again and tried a new street.
yyyup! Here we goooo.
Having lost that lead pipe in one of many frays he jumped into, he resorted to using his fists. His activities from just two nights go had left them slightly scabbed, now only bleeding anew when he curled his fingers, slammed them against one rotted face after another. He cleared a path for himself and moved ahead, and that was when he saw a very familiar woman at the end of the street and heading his way, lugging something odd on her back.
"Street's clear, nothin' here!" He called. He knew she sure as hell wouldn't be out here to fight.
"And why the hell're you out here by yourself!?" He went on to say.
Re: yyyup! Here we goooo.
As for why she was by herself, she had to drop her eyes to look at a street sign somewhere off to Kanji's left. "I'd prefer Ken-san to be with me and protect me," she said in a voice that was slightly less confident. "But he has a much more important woman to be protecting right now."
no subject
"Well right now, I'm all you got! Let's move!" He gestured onward to the next neighborhood as he all ready got moving, and they could both definitely hear the aimless groaning in the direction they headed. Overhead were black shadows, the giant ravens that dove and added to the confusion and chaos, but right now they only circled overhead, dark eyes scoping out targets.
