Anise hated waiting. She would much rather go out and do something than to just sit around. With the recent events, she really wanted a weapon to help her out but she can be picky. She was use to having Tokunaga, her doll, do most of the work but what can she do now? She was use to being in the background and dish out spells, she wanted a staff. However, there wasn't much she could do. She had to try out different weapons.

With a sigh, she mumbled and went out to get some dinner. There was no use in getting upset on an empty stomach.

He nearly snorted at that but made no comment as he followed her inside. Right, having practically told his last girlfriend off (although by accident and while defending the Yggdrasill siblings) and then helping in screwing over the world would definitely indicate that he'd be a good husband. More than likely, he would die alone and insane.

"What? You don't believe me?" She smirked. "You are a knight and you have such wonderful manners, I don't see why not!"

[flamberge]

"Why would you call me a knight?" A clear attempt at a change of topics, but Kratos didn't particularly care. Discussing marriage and romance and relationships with anyone, especially a kid he barely knew, wasn't going to happen. Not to mention, he couldn't help be curious if his former association with the knighthood was that obvious.

[tokunagas]

"Well, you wanted to go with me to this place despite the fact that you probably didn't. So I thought that you were pretty chivalrous." She said to him before waiting for someone to sit them down. "And you held a door for me. It screams out that you're a knight." A pause. "What? Is it bad that it's obvious?"

[flamberge]

"No, not necessarily, however good manners are not an indicator of one being associated with knighthood. It can simply mean one had been brought up in a household which stressed learning proper etiquette." He paused for a moment, perhaps a bit longer than he should've. "And you were incorrect with your assumption; I am not a knight."

[tokunagas]

"Boo...and here I thought you were!" She sighed. "However, there is one thing I am definitely certain of. Can you answer this for me? Were you raised by a rich family? Usually in my world, if you had good manners, it usually met you were from a fairly well off background." Luke and Natalia not included.

[flamberge]

"Once again, you are generalizing that those of the lower classes cannot possess manners which rival, if not surpass, those of nobility." He bluntly stated while waiting to be seated. Really, there were those that barely had anything and were more well-mannered than a good portion of nobles he'd known. Maybe they didn't know how to use 20 different forks or things of the sort, but at least they were polite and kind.

As he said that, she couldn't help but remember her time in Daath. Those girls were so two-faced, they act all sweet and polite but in reality, they were jealous. She was overgeneralizing and it did all depend on their character, rich or not. Although, she would more than likely said something if they were more rich.

"Yea, you're right. I shouldn't have said that."

At least she realized her error. That alone showed that Anise was more mature than he'd first assumed.

"No harm had been done. You've realized that you had made a mistake and that alone is more than some persons would be capable of." Which was the truth. There existed those who would simply continue to make generalizations even if they were told that said generalizations were false. He'd dealt with plenty of those people back home.

That made her raise an eyebrow. He wasn't going to scold her? He was being really supportive. Perhaps she made some rather harsh judgments about him as well. Most would criticize her for generalizations but he seems a lot nicer than she thought.

"Ahaha, you're much too kind, Kratos! Anyway, we should go eat something soon! What are you going to get?"

Before he had a chance to respond to that, a fairly cheerful waitress came over to them. The lady welcomed them to the restaurant before leading them towards a free booth over by the window. Once there and after her customers were seated, she placed down menus on the table and told them she'd be back in a few minutes to take their order.

Kratos thanked her and then began skimming over the menu.

"So, see anything you like?" She said before placing the menu on the table. "I'll going to have a tuna sandwich with some soup!" She could eat more than that but she'll be nice. Since he was being kind to her, she won't let his wallet cry.

[flamberge]

Kratos nodded at her selection before returning to choosing his own food. After a few moments, he'd made a decision and set the menu down. "I will be having the Smoked Salmon with a Gruner Veltliner as the accompanying wine." As in something that alone would cost close to $40. If he was being forced to eat out, Kratos might as well make certain that the meal would be a good one, even if were a bit pricey. The food seemed as though it were of higher quality. Their selection of wines was actually rather impressive, as well. This particularly one seemed as though it would go well with the taste of the fish.

Anise stared at Kratos with wide eyes. "What the..." She cut herself off before she shouted a curse. Now that wasn't fair! "What kind of food selection is that? That's really expensive stuff and you're just going to spend it away like that?" The joys of coming from a poor family, she couldn't even imagine spending all that money on just food.

"Can you answer something for me? Do you come from a rich family?" Who else would spend that much money on food? Those rich bastards.

[flamberge]

Kratos raised an eyebrow at her, really not appearing too happy about being lectured by a kid about how to waste his money. "It is my money to spend as I deem necessary, something of which you shouldn't be complaining about considering I am treating you out of my own pocket."

Was his noble upbringing as obvious as him having been a knight? A small sigh left Kratos just as the waitress came over, saving him from answering Anise's second question. He ordered his meal and handed her the menu.

That was true but still! He could have invested that much money into something! Anise was just fuming at this point, she honestly couldn't understand why someone would spend that much for food. Yes, it did taste better but it's just food!

After she ordered her food to the waitress, she simply stared at Kratos. A part of her was starting to feel a bit guilty. However, old habits do seem to die hard. "It's not fair." She mumbled.

No comment was made at her whining. Instead, Anise received a very stern glare which clearly said for her to stop this behavior immediately. Not only had he been dragged here but he was paying for both their meals; tolerating childish antics on top all that wasn't something he'd do.

That was what Anise did. She closed her mouth and pouted. Was it that obvious she had a certain bias against the rich? Although, she sighed. She wasn't the type who kept brooding.

"Anyway, are you going to let me have a sip of that wine?"

[flamberge]

Good, she'd taken the hint. At least that would mean the evening wouldn't be filled with her giving him dirty looks.

At her question, Kratos gave a simple, instant reply of, "No."

[tokunagas]

"Pretty please? With sugar on top?" She wasn't 21 yet but just a sip couldn't hurt! "A sip wouldn't hurt anyone! I won't get drunk off of it!"

[flamberge]

"You had been the one complaining of my splurging on expensive frivolities. It would be far too cruel to subject you to the horrors of such expenditures by allowing you to even sample a drop." That and he doubted she was of legal age. Normally he wouldn't mind bending that rule as much, having drank alcohol at a young age himself at various parties, however Anise's little attitude a few moments prior ruined any chance of him doing that.

Anise's anger was starting to get to her. However, she knew that she couldn't shout at him anymore. He was taking her to a dinner and he could very easily take that away. Fine, if that's how he wants to play it, she'll play nice.

"Then it looks like I'll have to wait 5 more years!" Oh how she couldn't wait to grow up and prove to everyone that a poor kid like her could do great things.

[flamberge]

Oh she wasn't complaining about that. Fairly surprising but Kratos certainly didn't mind.

"Patience is a virtue, one which would do you well to improve upon." Between her and Lloyd, he couldn't tell who acted more like an impatient child than the other. Probably Lloyd, but Anise certainly came close.

"But I'm being patient now aren't I?" She replied with the biggest smile she could conjecture up. However, was it just her or does it seem like he was acting like a father to her? Granted her own dad taught her how to be patient but not like this. He was a submissive person and that she had to teach herself a lot of things. It felt kind of weird.

The smallest hint of a smile appeared at that reaction. She certainly was an energetic child. Almost reminded him of Mithos, minus the boy's maturity. Not to mention she did have a point; she hadn't complained even once about the food taking too long a time to arrive. "Hmph. I suppose you are."
