Rating: PG-13 for violence of the training sort
Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Friday, August 13th.

[ it's still really weird to see a wolf with weapons. Sasuke doesn't have much experience with summons back home, the few he's seen using weapons at least had something resembling hands— but Amaterasu doesn't have that.

it's— bizarre to watch. ]

[She moves on to balancing the shield on her nose at the rim, but not really. Her tail wags and she turns... letting it fall when she notices Sasuke there.]

[sharingan]

Can you use that?

[ there's a note of disbelief in his voice. ]

[motherofthesun]

[Can she use it? What a silly question. Her paw taps and with her nose, she flips it back up and onto her back where it hovers.]

Wruf.

[sharingan]

[ huh.

well.

he unsheathes his katana. he feels out of practice, like he's spent a long time sleeping, and surely fighting a wolf would be more challenging than facing off someone he can read. he holds it one handed, lowers his chin, and points the tip of his own blade at her. ]

Prove it.

[motherofthesun]

[The moment the katana comes out, she's crouched. Shoulders forward, eyes locked and fur somewhat high, she moves, circling. Her lips curl, almost as if to growl, but no sound came out.]

[Darting right, she sharply moves to dash left, circling and coming back right to come in for a direct attack, shield swinging out from over her back and around to return.]

[ it's been different for a long time; the there years he'd spent with Orochimaru had taught him to use his sharingan, to rely on them in battle. coming back to the City he'd felt nearly blind, as though he had to work his way from the ground up again. working with Roy, and with China, had helped.

his gaze still follows her movement (but it is harder to read a wolf, he can't watch her expression, not really), but as she comes forward at him his katana arcs around— knocking the shield aside and taking a step back, watching it swing back into position over her back. ]

[There's contact; her ear hears the clash, but she isn't backing down just yet. She chases after him, shield swiping in from the left this time and quickly follows with another right. No claws and no fangs, just the weapon as she goes on the offense.]

[sharingan]

[ her advancement forces him to guard, though instead of holding his grown he skips back a few steps with which jerk forward she gives, deflecting the broad flat of the shield.

he gains ground only when he backflips out of her immediate attack zone, before launching forward, thrusting at her shoulder. ]

[The backflip has her cease her assault and her eyes gleam. The board side of the shield comes to block his thrust at an angle up. At this point she would counter with a piledriver, but she isn't able to jump high enough here. All she could do if the opening appeared would just be pinning down her opponent with a body slam.]

[ his sword glances up, and where she'd lunge in toward him Sasuke's hand snaps out to grab a fistful of her fur. on anyone else, it would be clothing, but she has a distinct lack of that— but he uses her momentum and his own to pull her with him— then roll her off to send them both sprawling into the grass.

he rolls back to his feet and readjusts his stance, both hands on his katana, his weight low. ]

[Good move. She rolls and he rolls, but he's back up with a roll and she springs. Her body was still low, waiting to see what he wants to do at this height and with his katana held that way. Reminds her almost of a stance some demons would take. Amaterasu huffs, watching him with ears forward.]

[sharingan]

[ his grip won't stay that way— Sasuke doesn't often fight two handed with his blade, but he pulls it to his right and rushes her again. this time, his swing comes diagonally. it's likely similar to what her demons fought her with, because his style isn't radically different from them. ]

[motherofthesun]

[It's unfortunate really, but it's trial and error in training that helps people better fight. A dodge avoiding the diagonal pathway isn't difficult and she has to keep her tail still. It's a silly idea to just... pounce, but why not end this one a fun note? Next time she sees a good opening.]

[sharingan]

[ not being well acquainted with wolves, or canines for that matter (he wasn't able to learn much about Kakashi's summons, really; he'd left before then), so it's only the pricking of her ears that has Sasuke keyed in to where her attention might go.

regardless, he comes at her again, but his swing goes wide when she ducks under it, leaving his chest open ]

[There's a mischievous glint in her eyes once that opening appears. One push of her legs and she's full-on body slam for the take down. She's literally a wall of fur and muscle.]

[sharingan]

[ the widening of his eyes is blatantly comical, because it's— not what he's expecting. the full weight of her body, all muscle, knocks the wind out of him with an oof.

he half bounces when he hits the grass, his arm flung out, katana half an inch from his fingers. ]

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu just lays there on top of him, huffing at the victory... and then, licks his cheek once. Haha pinned! Calming Wavelength was just coming off her in waves.]

[ he wants to be irritated, frustrated by the admittedly stupid opening and loss of this battle— but she's a heavy weight on his chest and she licks his face and every time her tail wags it hits his leg. Sasuke is highly susceptible to the Calming Wavelength. he doesn't know that's what she's doing, but it makes his head thump back against the ground anyway.

Sasuke is a lot more acquainted with pain and suffering than he is anything kind.

he huffs and closes his eyes and the wavelength rolls over him like an ocean. ]

[One day, she's going to get a grin out of him, but people do try so hard to fight it. Amaterasu nuzzles him with her nose, licking his forehead and making some of his hair stand. Laying her head down, she almost seems ready to just nap there, but her tail was still waving.]
