Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Friday, August 13th.

[ Chika nodded, though with that last question she waited a bit before answering. Because really, it was a hard one to answer. In... in some ways maybe? She was out here instead of being in her apartment alone curled up in the blankets. That was something.

At the same time though, every time she turned her head, she could just be hit by memories of Asuka. And it hurt. ]

I don't know. Kinda. But at the same time I'm not. [ Lying to Shinji about it wasn't going to do any good. So she wasn't even going to pretend to try. ]

[He's strangely tempted to give Auron a hug, but that's weird and giving the man a wave is plenty.] How're you?

[ Chika frowned, looking away from the cat-like creature for a moment. ] I know. But that doesn't make it easier.

You have two options really. One, you can see if you can put on spanks, or two, you don't wield me at all. You do have briefs on right now.

[He has the weird feeling that the cat is just messing with him. But whatever. He's going to take the high road and move on. Clothes are just clothes, right?]

Fine. Let's see how sharp this knife is. [And he marches up to a training dummy and stabs it in the eye.]

Yes, it can.

[But knowing how to use it is better than accidentally using it. And maybe he should shoo Kaworu away or something...? He's unsure, and the uncertainty is killing him. He's tempted to look around to see if anyone is watching this clearly innocent conversation, but the act of looking around would seem suspicious, wouldn't it?

[He is, but isn't. Questions, Takuto, will receive answers.]

[The double-edged dagger is pretty sharp, puncturing the dummy's eye with little trouble. Probably helps that it's part of a Weapon.]

[Shinji remains silent for a few moments. Taking a second or two to think on it, he wonders if, even if he had gotten to his Eva faster, even if he had been able to get out on the battle field quickly and saved Asuka from what had happened, would that really have made a difference? Considering what had happened right after, anyway. All that would have done was spare her being basically eaten alive, which... yeah. Nope. Saving her would have been preferable, definitely. His guilt is totally justified and nothing will convince him otherwise. As for Takuto's question,]

[Their worlds had enough similarities, so it wouldn't be too surprising if he had.]

[He shakes his head. The term is entirely unfamiliar, but it sounds scientific and important. Like he can hear the capital letters.]

No. Should I have?

[She could probably make the number smaller for him. After all, if he wound up getting in over his head right from the start and smacking himself in the face with one of the segments, well, that probably would put an end to things quickly, wouldn't it?]

It's what I used back home. [She grins.] Let's try, then.

[She'll... put the bag of apples down first. Maybe a little reluctantly. Better that than have them drop and spill all over the place while transforming, though.]

[She'll tilt her head curiously to the side at the question. He's here, with a Meister tag, being approached by a Weapon. The intention there should be fairly obvious, right?]

What kind of weapons are you used to wielding? [That's a good starting point to go off of, right?]

[She'll get another apple out for herself, while she's at it.]

There's nothing wrong with taking some time to yourself, right? Over extending yourself isn't going to do anyone any good. [She gives a small shrug before biting in to her snack.] My name's Kyoko, by the way. Kyoko Sakura.

[Kaworu's company is always welcome, even in cases where Shinji is sure he'd rather be alone, so there's no shying away or feeling horrible and awkward when the angel approaches.]

[There's no 'good' to it, but he tries to keep any sort of bitterness over the fact out of his voice. It's... probably pretty obvious that he isn't doing too well, either way.]

Huh?

[Should he try to shrug it off or should he actually explain? What would Yako prefer, anyway? Would it be weird if he just casually walked away? Yes, of course it would be weird. And it would probably hurt Kaworu's feelings. He doesn't want to hurt Kaworu's feelings--he does that plenty already.]

Er, no. I mean yes.

[What is he saying. He is going to screw this up. He can't screw this up. He's not allowed any more screw-ups. This is already feeling like a nightmare.]

[Unless there was something similar that went under a different name? That was always a possibility.]

It's sort of like this, [Resonance, he means, and he gives Takuto's soul a small, gentle nudge as if to emphasize his point.] Except... forced. And on a global scale. The idea was for everyone to lose their individuality in order to be able to... understand each other. [A small tremor of terror presents itself from Shinji's end of the resonance. There had been nothing pleasant about the experience, and the memories of it are enough to keep him up at night on a regular basis.]

[He's pretty sure his home had nothing like this. The closest thing to resonance was apprivoising a cybody, and that's really nothing like resonance. But what Shinji is describing sends a similar tremor through him--or perhaps it's the same tremor from Shinji pinging through him through their resonance. He can sense that global, forced resonance is a scary thing, even if he can't quite understand it well enough to truly be afraid.]

[Mello can count the number of times he's been to morning training on one hand, but his conversation with Akiha was enough to lure him out today. He has a mocha to serve as his breakfast, and he's half-idly trying to focus on people and see if he gets any sense of what they're going to do next. He's plenty confident in his abilities, but this is in the realm of the supernatural, and he doubts he'll get far without resonance.]

... Right.

[It's almost lucky that this world has the resonance system in order to help Shinji draw a parallel for Takuto, otherwise he'd get the confusing primordial soup made of souls explanation, which doesn't really drive the point home as well. Meanwhile, Shinji's directing some of his own focus to keeping himself afloat, not wanting to lose his state of mind to the unpleasant memories of being subjected to literally everyone on the planet.]

Right before it started, Asuka... was killed. [Was it really his place to be spreading that information? Another wave of unease and guilt washes over him.] But her soul still ended up involved, anyway. She's either going back to that, or nothing.

[The idea that Rosalia might have died in her own world had crossed his mind,but he wasn't going to pry into her personal life like that. When it comes to dealing with girls, he does try and maintain a sense of politeness.

But...] A ghost? Really? [No judgement or anything, just some mild disbelief.]
