Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Friday, August 13th.

[Eve hadn't really come to this area before mostly because once she'd figured out what her Meister ability was it wasn't that hard to work on it on her own.

Her ability though, wasn't very useful she thinks. Mostly because it could only be used at the expense of hers and Keroro's resonance. It was, she thought, a good trump card to hold onto, but not very useful most of the time.

Which is why she'd liked to learn Soul Menace if she could.

She looked around, trying to spot the instructor for this area.]

[He's quiet for a long moment, more or less just trying to digest this information. So. Like Kaworu, Asuka dies. He wonders if Asuka knew, during her time here, what getting sent home meant, and he doubts she'd take it the same way Kaworu does. She'd probably fight it, if she could... which is a pretty good response, actually.]

I'm sorry. [Though death is not necessarily equivalent to 'nothing,' he's not sure if that's a good point to bring up to a depressed person.] But maybe... even you don't know the future, Shinji. If the human instrumentality is possible in the first place, maybe it's reversible, too.

[ kaworu doesn't really understand, mostly because a) takuto never really explained him what happened between them b) what is romantic love he has no idea? c) takuto has always kept at arms-length around Kaworu. There are certain lilin interactions that the angel still doesn't understand at all. But knowing how uncomfortable he makes the other feel, he won't press the issue.

Instead Kaworu nods, with a small smile ]

Alright. I understand. [ he can't say he understands the reason why, but he understands the need to keep away. ]

[Don't spoil End of Eva for him, Takuto. Gosh. That didn't necessarily mean that anyone who had been caught in the crossfire before hand would be brought back, however, and the casualty count for the raid on HQ prior to the start of Instrumentality had been absurd.

But amidst his own skeptical thoughts, he replies with a surprisingly doubtless,] Maybe. [If he had been able to re-assimilate himself once from the LCL in Unit01, surely it was possible again, even if the odds were slim.] I don't know how you'd stop something like that, though.

[He gives a tiny sigh. As much as Shinji would like for Takuto to fully understand the situation he came from, this sort of talk weighs heavy on him very fast, and with already feeling low from Asuka's disappearance, it's probably for the best to reel himself back in a bit.] Thank you for listening.

I see. And, how would you describe yourself?

[Karina's pretty curious herself, as she was a meister too. Her tag would show that.]

I want to start off by asking you a few questions. Once I get to know you better, I might be able to recommend someone for you.

[Karina clears her throat and looks down at the clipboard she has.]

So, what do you look for in a partner... or a good friend?

[Well, at least Karina kind of knew Kyubey. That means she didn't have to ask him that questionnaire she was giving to just about everyone around the training area. But still, just out of habit...]

So, what are you looking for in a potential partner?

of course it is. it looks just like a doujin image or something.

[Takuto tries not to grit his teeth. That is such a typical Kaworu reaction. He manages to get by with just frowning and taking a deep breath.]

No, I don't think you really do. But that's okay, as long as I can keep my distance for a while. [He's well aware he hasn't explained everything--that in fact he really hasn't explained anything at all--but he can't see how he can explain it properly without falling into the same traps he fell into before. And he's determined to not make any more mistakes.]

Anytime. [He gets the sense quite clearly that Shinji doesn't need to dwell on these things too much. And besides, what will be will be, and if Shinji can change the future when he gets there, Takuto knows that he will.

Because even if Shinji can't see his own strength, Takuto can. And maybe it's not in spite of his history that Shinji has that strength, but because of the hardships he's been through.]

I think you're very special. [It's not so much words as a stray but very dear thought, less a message for Shinji than it is a very clear emotion from Takuto.]

[ Since it was a request, Kaworu decides it's time to leave and with one last nod he turns, after he offers the other boy a last smile ] Goodbye, Takuto.

[ he will take his leave. Kaworu still wishes to see Shinji before the training is over. ]

[ The fact that someone suddenly speaks up pulls him out of his concentration enough that he almost manages to fall right out of the tree. Almost. He manages to hang on at the least moment. ]

[ smiling sheepishly. and he may or may not be keeping his hands behind his back. donuts? there's no pilfered box of donuts here. ]

[ That is a big deal. Unfortunately Masako doesn't exactly think of it as such since her standards are way different as pretty much everyone knows by now.. ]

I've seen much more useful powers though. I think you certainly got the short end of the stick when they were deciding who gets which power.

[ No, Kaworu didn't see the network yet. However, when he hears Shinji's words, he pauses for a second.

He wasn't even close to Asuka. As matter of fact, he only spoke to her once in his whole life and that happened when he was in Death City. However, he knows she meant very much to Shinji, and that's why he smiles softly ]

I'm sorry, Shinji-kun. I have heard people sometimes leave this world and return to their own. It can be painful to be alone, but in the end, we do not belong to this world.

[ the rumors prove true, if Sasuke's presence over in this area is anything to go by. he doesn't look very pleased, and while that isn't a surprise, it doesn't exactly look like anger at least. he seems more perturbed than anything else, as he scans the faces of the Watch.

it was one thing to hear from Neji what their numbers were&madsh; it was another entirely to see it. ]

[ it's still really weird to see a wolf with weapons. Sasuke doesn't have much experience with summons back home, the few he's seen using weapons at least had something resembling hands— but Amaterasu doesn't have that.

it's— bizarre to watch. ]

[ he really shouldn't be surprised.

[ his voice comes at Neji's shoulder, though well outside of his personal space. Sasuke folds his arms and glances at him sideways but doesn't say the rest of it: I didn't realize how bad. ]

[ he exhales, and though no tension bleeds from his shoulders when the gesture, he does close his eyes briefly. it's a tell of something close to annoyance, but the subtle tells offer it closer to self control. it's in the twitch of his hand on the blade, the purse of his lips.

when he looks back up, it's again under hooded eyes. ]

I'm not going to argue with you.

[Right, that's a thing she should do. Not only does she let go, but she takes a step back too, looking down.]

[Neji blinks, but doesn't turn- doesn't need to. He hums a short note instead and idly flips a page over the clipboard, well aware of the Uchiha's eyes on him]

It was worse before you arrived. Or rather, before the group you came in with arrived. We've received a handful of recruits since then, including yourselves. We're doing slightly better, but I don't know if it'll be enough to keep us from transitioning over as a different division..

[ his attention turns a little more fully, a shift in his weight that opens his chest toward Neji. ]
