The discounted price came at a surprisingly good time. With the temperatures in Nevada climbing and no end in sight, it seems the owners of a Pacific Northwestern lodge took pity on the Meisters and Weapons of Shibusen and offered them a break from the heat. Despite it being July, the snow was still plentiful for skiing, snowboarding, sledding and innertubing! Dress warm, rent some gear or bring your own and have at it, they say!

From dawn to dusk, the mountain is lively on all sides, boarders and ski nuts to ski newbies enjoying a mid-week break while nature buffs take hikes over the trails on the greener side of the mountain, reachable by a short bus ride from the main lodge. Whether you're more into the powdery white or the vivid green, there's a spot for you to take a breather on Mount Hood.

[ Chika winces at that last part. It was really cold up here. How did you manage to be out that long anyway Minako? ]

Yeah. I can definitely see why'd you want to do that. It's way too cold here to go without gloves.

[ Not that they were really going to be here that long, but details. ]

[She smiles sheepishly. Honestly, she wants to know how she managed to forget something that important too.]

Right? I can't believe that I actually forgot them... At the very least though, it's given me the opportunity to practice my knitting again.

Has it been a long time since you last knit anything?

[ She probably should go ahead and try to learn something like that herself. But well... work. And mission. And busy. ]

[evokes]

Kind of, yeah. Between work and training and missions, I haven't really had a chance to wind down like this in a while.

[scatterflower]

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've been pretty busy with work and stuff too.

[ She stretches, before leaning back in the chair. ]

We really all needed this break a lot. And it feels like we needed it more than we knew.

[evokes]

Haha, yeah, definitely! [She takes a pause from her knitting to stretch her arms up.] I thought I'd been finding time to relax already, but it's nothing compared to this.

[ Chika takes a sip of her drink, before grinning in response. ]

Yeah. I know. I've... been getting a little bit of time to relax here and there but it's not the same as having a whole day or two to just mess around. We really need to set something like this up a lot more often. If we can, anyway.

[evokes]

I know I'd be down for that, whenever and wherever. Actually... [Minako leans forward a little, curious.] If we could go anywhere for another trip like this, where would you want to go, Chika-chan?

[scatterflower]

... You know, that's a pretty good question. I guess I haven't really thought about it all that much.

[ She frowns a bit, thinking it over. ]

Well, umm... I guess it depends on when it is, but if we end up doing one over the winter? Hawaii. Or any place with a beach that has a decent temperature that time of year.

[evokes]

Ohh, Hawaii definitely sounds like it'd be nice during the winter! I still wouldn't mind a beach trip honestly.

[scatterflower]

We'll have to see if someone can set one up then. Because beaches are pretty awesome. Though I guess it might be a little while before we can have another trip, since we are just having this one.

[evokes]

Yeah, that's pretty true. I think we should plan it in advance at least, y'know? That way we'll have something else to look forward to even after this.

[scatterflower]

Oh, definitely. Planning something like a trip to the beach is a lot better if we do it before it's supposed to happen. It makes things a lot less complicated and stuff.

Plus, we'll know how much food and things we'll need.

[evokes]

And if we got enough stuff, we could make it more of a beach party than just a trip! [parties are always better apparently.]

Yes. Yes! Definitely agreed on having it be more of a party. We don't have enough of them.

And I'm pretty sure that too many people are going to be interested in a beach trip to make it just a trip and not a party anyway.

[evokes]

Right? If a lot of people want to go, there's no way it can't turn into a party!

[scatterflower]

Yeah!

... Wow, I'm really excited for this now. I guess I'll ask to see if people want to start setting something like this up a couple of days after we get back or something. I mean, even if we can't have it really, really soon, the sooner we get started the sooner we can actually have it happen.

[evokes]

Seriously, this is pretty exciting to think about! The sooner the better we start planning too, since I'm guessing it's gonna take a lot of planning.

[scatterflower]

Okay then! I'll make sure to go ahead and ask around the network and stuff soon. Like... the type of food that people like and if they're interested and stuff like that.

[ No use having a party if no one liked the food somehow, after all. ]

[evokes]

Great! And if you get enough responses, maybe we can go shopping around together to get all the supplies when the time comes.

[scatterflower]

That sounds great to me Minako-chan! I'll definitely be in need of some company, no matter how many people we have.

[evokes]

Awesome, now we've got ourselves a plan! I know we're on vacation right now, but I'm already looking forward to doing all of this too.

Yeah, I know what you mean! I'm super excited too!

[ She grins, looking at Minako's sewing project again. ]

Though I guess I'm distracting you from what you're trying to do right now, aren't I?

[evokes]

[She waves it off, laughing.] Nah, don't worry about it! I still have plenty of time to get this done.

Alright, I'll make sure not to worry about it then!

[ She goes ahead and takes a sip of her hot chocolate, before looking over at Minako again. ]

So, umm, how's it been with you and Josuke-san? Everything going okay on the mission front?
