Description: Skiing! Hot chocolate! Snowball fights! Hiking! Folks of Death City say 'screw the heat' and decide to take a frosty vacation a few states away. COMMENCE MISCHIEF.

The discounted price came at a surprisingly good time. With the temperatures in Nevada climbing and no end in sight, it seems the owners of a Pacific Northwestern lodge took pity on the Meisters and Weapons of Shibusen and offered them a break from the heat. Despite it being July, the snow was still plentiful for skiing, snowboarding, sledding and innertubing! Dress warm, rent some gear or bring your own and have at it, they say!

From dawn to dusk, the mountain is lively on all sides, boarders and ski nuts to ski newbies enjoying a mid-week break while nature buffs take hikes over the trails on the greener side of the mountain, reachable by a short bus ride from the main lodge. Whether you're more into the powdery white or the vivid green, there's a spot for you to take a breather on Mount Hood.

When we get back home, I'll put it up at the top of my list of things to do! [Does she even actually have a list?? Probably not, but she's all about having fun man.] I could definitely use a little more game-playing in my life at this point.

Who knows, I might be able to get myself enough of a break during the day when you show up to play a couple of the games with you.

[ Well, she hopes, anyway. It could get pretty busy and things could go pretty wrong sometimes. ]

Oh, now that definitely sounds like fun! Do you have any fighting games? Racing ones maybe? If you can catch a break, we should compete!

[ Chika can't help but grin at that. ]

Oh yeah. We have plenty of both of those. What type of arcade would we be if we didn't?

Haha, just making sure! When a place has a sun and moon with faces, I wouldn't be surprised it even an arcade was a little strange too.

[ And now you're getting laughter, Minako. ]

Well, I guess if it was an arcade that wasn't started by us guests here, it might be something to wonder about. But I think if you go anywhere, people still want games where they can beat their friends up a lot.

Haha, I have to agree! There's nothing like getting the KO on your friend after a tough match.

Yeah! It's even more fun when you do it after someone assumes that you'd suck at the game at all. It never really gets all that old.

[ She's been doing it for years. And it's always so satisfying to see a guy who assumed she'd be easy to beat freak out. ]

Right? I could see it a million times, but I'd never get tired of the looks on people's faces after something like that.

I know! You'd think that guys would realize it after a while. But nope, so many people still think that I can't play games because I'm a girl. And I've been kicking a lot of their butts at games like fighters since I was ten.

Yeah! I don't know who got the idea into their head that girls don't play video games, but they must've been really dumb. [She gives Chika a thumbs-up.] Haha, alright, now that's the way to go!

[ Chika shrugs. ]

Maybe it's because we don't obsess about it all the time and talk about more than just that?

When you put it like that, it's more like it's just sad that they don't have lives outside of games.

[ Chika shrugs. ] Well, it kinda is. I mean, if that's all that they do and stuff. You can't really do just one thing, otherwise there's not a lot of people you can make friends with.

Yeah. It's good to have things you're passionate about, but just having one hobby kinda limits you.

Yeah. [Though now that she thought about it, it wasn't like she had a ton of hobbies either. But she had more than one, at least? Or more than one here? Though training wasn't really a hobby and...

[ You know what, nevermind. ] Though even if you don't have a lot of hobbies it's not like you have to be limited if you just try more things too.

Right! They might not become hobbies, but there's not much stopping anyone from trying whatever they might wanna try.

Yeah, exactly! There's just people being silly and not willing to try anything new!

[ But that does make her wonder if there's anything that she hasn't tried that maybe she should? ]

Hey Minako-chan? Is there anything that you've been thinking of trying that you haven't before?

Something that I haven't tried before, huh? [She's thought about a ton of things like that actually, but the one that she's thought about most and thus comes to mind is—] Photography, actually. There's a club for it at my high school that I thought looked neat, but they weren't accepting members at the time. Taking pictures of stuff sounds like it could be fun!

Huh. That's not something I ever would've thought of trying myself...

[ Not that that really matters. Because come on both of them were friends, but they didn't have to like the same things. Though how did she know if she'd like it or not if she didn't try it? ]

Maybe when we get back to Death City we can try it out together? Assuming we have the time for that, obviously.

Hey, that sounds like a great idea! Doing stuff with friends is always more fun. [She beams.] Are you sure though? I don't wanna drag you into it if you're not really interested.

[Chika giggles. ]

Yeah, I'm fine with checking it out. If I don't like it, that just means I don't need to keep up with it, right?

Right! But alright, now we have something to look forward to even after our vacation here ends!
