EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt II [OPEN]
Characters: Everyone and anyone
Location: Anywhere in Death City!
Rating: PG-13
Time: July 16 to July 18th
Description: And then it gets worse.
By now, no one is popping in and out of existence, but that's hardly any consolation when odd things keep happening.
At first it's not that bad. An innocuous item or two shows up. Something harmless wanders around that you're sure has never been in Death City before.
By the second day, bigger and more dangerous things start showing up and by the third...
Well.
As long as you don't mind the giant pieces of debris or creatures blocking the road or the sky, it's not that bad, right?
((OOC: List of canon items and creatures arriving can be found here. Remember, the list only tells you where they initially show up. They'll probably move on soon enough to a new location.
Remember to put Character | Location | OPEN/CLOSED in your subject!))

But rather than worry about it, Chie had instead decided that the best place to pound out her problems was at the training grounds. In fact, those training dummies looked perfect...
...hmm? As soon as she got close she noticed an odd object hanging out on the ground. "A book...?" She knelt down to pick it up. Perhaps it was somebody's? She remembered that sometimes people who owned books would put their names on the inside. Maybe, just maybe...
no subject
Following that line of thinking, he remained silent a moment, enduring Chie's handling, before finally deigning to speak up across their shared wavelength.
I don't suppose there are instructions?
no subject
Chie dropped the book instantly when she heard the voice inside her head.
no subject
....you must be new here.
The projection bordered on being wryly amused. As finding a meister had not been his intention today, Light found that he could afford some patience.
I didn't mean to scare you.
no subject
She decided that the best thing to do in this situation was to at least point the obvious so she wouldn't be viewed as a complete bubble head. "Okay. So. You're appearing to me out of the book. So that either means that you're some sort of Shibusen technology like our mirrors or your a weapon."
She paused for a moment giving the matter a little thought. "Though I suppose you could be a ghost...?"
That last thought wasn't especially comforting. Especially since Chie was petrified of ghosts.
no subject
I was a meister until just recently...
If it were possible for books to roll their eyes in response to her query about whether he was a ghost or not, Light would have been rolling his pretty hard at the moment. Instead, he settled for letting go of the transformation completely, re-assuming his human form where it currently sat on the ground in front of her.
"Something happened, recently." he went on as if he hadn't just been dropped a few seconds ago, standing and straightening his shirt without further ado. "Everyone...or, well, most everyone's roles have reversed."
no subject
This was the first time she heard of roles being reversed, and the look on her face expressed that plainly. "So, the whole book thing is new, huh."
no subject
The transition from his new weapon form back to his human body felt odd...like everything was momentarily much heavier than before.
"I was trying to get the hang of changing in and out of it, at least, and hopefully learn more about its capabilities in the process."
no subject
Sudden realization came when it dawned on her that the book she dropped was actually a person. "Ah! Oh gosh, I'm sorry if I hurt you or something!"
no subject
"I'm okay." he assured. "Besides, it isn't as if you could have known if you're new to all of this, right?"
no subject
"Oh, but I'm getting ahead of myself. My name is Chie Satonaka. What's yours?"
no subject
Just as he reminded her of a type back home, she, too, was familiar to him. It wasn't that she reminded him of any one person in particular, but of several at once...girls he'd dated throughout high school who were sweet-tempered and eager to make a good impression.
After recent happenings, being in the presence of someone he did not have to immediately second-guess would be a welcome change of pace.
no subject
"But boy, was I surprised!" She mentioned with the pull. "I thought weapons was like swords and knives and stuff. I wouldn't think a book would be all that affective. You know?"
no subject
"You'd be surprised what could be effective in the right situation." he replied, accompanying it with a small chuckle. "Though if this book in particular is going to be effective at all, I'll need to figure out how it works."
He paused, feigning a thoughtful look despite the fact he knew exactly what his next course of action would be. "Maybe you could help me. Have you wielded a weapon before?"
