EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt 1 [OPEN]

Characters: Everyone and anyone
Location: Anywhere in Death City!
Rating: PG-13
Time: Starting July 14 after 11am to July 15
Description: ...something strange is going on here.

At some point, something strange begins to happen. People start randomly disappearing. Sometimes they reappear immediately after and they may not even notice, but sometimes there's a noticeable lag between their disappearance and their reappearance.

Sometimes, they don't even reappear in the same place!

At least it doesn't seem to be dangerous. Unless you disappeared from your kitchen and reappeared at the other end of the city. In which case, you might want to start running.

Either everything sort of points at this being BREW related (after all, if it were Witches, there would be a lot more danger).

starfruitfrog: (talking || That's not my problem!)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-01-11 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well, usually they resort to guns first, de arimasu.
vintage_magic: (tarnished 1 | Oh my!)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-01-11 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Great balls of fire! You have people trying to shoot you?

[But then she realizes they're getting pretty far off the subject and that she's still a book. At least, he doesn't seem to have thought to question why she turns into a magic book.]

Oh, shouldn't you be getting back to your own shop? If you leave me on the counter, I'll probably turn back eventually...

[Or there was the risk he might want to try reading a spell again...]
starfruitfrog: (proud || Trust me! I'm a professional.)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-01-12 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Not just other people. Even Giroro shoots at him from time to time.

Keroro thinks it's caused by an underlying superiority complex and the need to blame someone for his lack of popularity.]

Ah. You're right! I nearly forgot about the book, de arimasu! Before I leave, I want to try at least one spell, de arimasu!
vintage_magic: (spirits 1 | neutral)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-01-12 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
But— [A sigh.] Oh, all right. But just one.

[Considering what happened before, it likely wouldn't work anyway and it might be quicker than trying to argue with him...]
starfruitfrog: (happy || omg yay)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-01-15 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, then....should I try the old one? Or pick a new one, de arimasu....
vintage_magic: (book of shadows 2)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-01-15 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Land sakes! What had she gotten herself into?! If Keroro started flipping through her pages in search of a new spell, he might see something more incriminating. Like the Goofer Balls to hex people with or the Living Things in You spell to make an enemy think they had snakes inside of them. Or he might land on something relatively harmless like a healing spell. Or a love charm or that Daphne glamour for blending into trees. But she wasn't sure if she wanted to chance it.]

Um, maybe you'll actually make that one from before work this time...
starfruitfrog: (looove || *U*)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-01-16 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
[And just like that, he was convinced. If a book told him that, it must be true, right?]

Okay! Then I'll try that one from before. Now...where is it, de arimasu.

[Forgetting that he was already on the page, Keroro starts flipping his way through.]
vintage_magic: (tarnished 2 | Something's strange here..)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-01-16 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Wait! You were already on that page!

[But it's too late. He might soon notice a page with a picture of a snake and a glowing spell on it, titled "Living Things in You." There's a list of ingredients including powdered snake eggs, powered snake sheds, fangs, venom, and a rattlesnake's rattle. And the incantation reads: "As serpents twist on high, so the snakes shall live in you." Uh, oh...]
starfruitfrog: (talking || That's very troublesome)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-01-18 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Keroro gives that page a good, long look.....but because it looks much too difficult and he'd actually have to go collect things, he decides to pass on it.]

Ah. Then maybe I shouldn't have turned the page at all, de arimasu. You should have told me that to start with, de arimasu.
vintage_magic: (exasperated)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-01-18 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lily had found yesterday that her spells didn't work quite as they did back home, not requiring the usual ingredients and brewing, only the incantations. So, if he had read the still glowing spell, some snakes made out of soul wavelength might have popped out of the book anyway.]

Well, you started flipping through before I could say anything...
starfruitfrog: (proud || Why yes I am a genius)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-01-19 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
[And he would probably have screamed because snakes have no business popping out of books.]

It's too late to fix it. I guess I'll just pick a different spell.

[Flip, flip, flip.]

Isn't there something nice and easy, de arimasu?
vintage_magic: (skeptical | raised eyebrow)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-01-21 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Magic isn't exactly easy. You can't just point a wand and expect something to happen.

[And here's another glowing page, a healing spell: "With threads of silk I mend, to this wound I tend."]

starfruitfrog: (worry || not sure if want)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-01-26 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Suddenly magic is a lot less appealing.]

That's not how it works in books, de arimasu.
vintage_magic: (exasperated)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-02-01 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well, we're not in a book. [A sigh as she realized that technically wasn't true for her.] Or at least, you're not.

Just because it's that way in a story doesn't mean magic really works that way. It takes a lot of focus and concentration but no wands or nose wiggling.

starfruitfrog: (talking || Che.)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-02-04 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[No, they're in a panfandom RP.]

But that sounds boring, de arimasu.
vintage_magic: (skeptical | raised eyebrow)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-02-04 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well, magic isn't as exciting as the movies make it out to be. So, if you don't want to do that spell after all, could you pick me up and put me on the counter?
starfruitfrog: (talking || That's very troublesome)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-02-20 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
[He picks her up with a little difficulty and pushes her back onto the table while standing on the tips of his toes.]

But it should be, de arimasu. Don't you have a spell to make everything sparkle and be cool, de arimasu?
vintage_magic: (spirits 1 | neutral)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-02-20 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
[She was reminded a bit of Aidan whose aura was so sparkly thanks to the glamour he used that even normal humans noticed it.]

That sounds a little like a glamour spell but not exactly.
starfruitfrog: (determination || Fighting...!)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-03-09 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
And is there one in the book, de arimasu?
vintage_magic: (wardrobe 1 | Hmm... | Thinking)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-03-09 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Sort of but that one makes you blend into a tree, not sparkle.
starfruitfrog: (talking || Che.)

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-03-11 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
So the magic in the book is just boring, de arimasu. Is that it, de arimasu?
vintage_magic: (exasperated)

Hmm... I think we can probably wrap this up? It's pretty old by now.

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-03-12 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
You can put it that way. [She hoped this would get him to stop asking questions!]
starfruitfrog: (proud || Why yes I am a genius)

That's fine! And then I just noticed this was back in October. So old, this thread.

[personal profile] starfruitfrog 2014-03-12 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Boring. So boring, de arimasu.

[Magic was supposed to be cool! With lots of special effects!]

If it's going to be like that, I think I'll just go back to Terminated Fantasy IV instead, de arimasu.
vintage_magic: (surprised | What in tarnation?)

[personal profile] vintage_magic 2014-03-12 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
All right, you can do that. [Even though she had no idea what Terminated Fantasy IV was.]

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to try to change back to normal. [And in a flash of light, the book disappears and Lily is sitting on the counter. Huh? It actually worked this time!]
