EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt 1 [OPEN]

Description: ...something strange is going on here.

At some point, something strange begins to happen. People start randomly disappearing. Sometimes they reappear immediately after and they may not even notice, but sometimes there's a noticeable lag between their disappearance and their reappearance.

Sometimes, they don't even reappear in the same place!

At least it doesn't seem to be dangerous. Unless you disappeared from your kitchen and reappeared at the other end of the city. In which case, you might want to start running.

Either everything sort of points at this being BREW related (after all, if it were Witches, there would be a lot more danger).

Chika Daimon | Shibusen's main stairs | July 14th

[ Finding yourself at the top of Shibusen's main staircase when you were at the arcade doing your job the last minute was definitely not normal.

You know what else wasn't normal? Falling down the Shibusen stairs because your balance was off because you suddenly appeared at the top of the stairs.

Too bad for Chika that was exactly what was happening now, and she couldn't do anything but let out a scream as she plummeted down them. Was... what the hell happened was she going to die why was this-

Something strange happened on the way down though, and Chika felt her whole body changed and get a hell of a lot smaller as she clanged onto the ground down the stairs until she stopped moving. ]

DAMN IT BREW! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU NOW!?

[ So... yeah. Chika was a weapon now. In fact, she was not just any weapon, but she was a Digivice like her brother was when he used to be here, only orange and pink instead of whatever color he was (and the color in the picture).

And she was at the bottom of the Shibusen stairs. And... had no idea how to get back to normal. ]

Someone come over here and help me!

[Aqua hadn't noticed the Digivice at first, but she stopped when she was about to take a step up the stairs by a familiar voice.]

...Chika? [But when she looked around she didn't...see anyone. What.]

[scatterflower]

Aqua! Is that you? Where are you I'm kinda... stuck. Down here.

[ She tried to move herself a bit, but well, that didn't work. ]

And I can't move at all! What's going on with BREW? It changed me into a weapon. And threw me down the stairs!

[blue_wayfinder]

[...down? So, even though she wasn't sure if it's what Chika meant she looked down at the ground.

She listened to the rest of Chika's words as she crouched down beside the Digivice. After a moment she reached out to pick her up. That was...definitely a soul wavelength she felt just now. There was no connection, like two pieces that didn't quite fit and Aqua thinks she understands now why Clare was able to tell she was no longer a Meister so quickly.]

How is this possible?

[scatterflower]

I don't know!

[ If Chika hadn't been so shocked right now, she would've realized that Aqua wasn't talking to her with that question. But even so this was ridiculous and frightening and she couldn't change herself back. ]

Aqua! How am I supposed to get back to normal!?

[blue_wayfinder]

[...okay. First thing's first...]

First, you need to be calm, Chika. [She says this firmly, but not unkindly.] I'll help you, okay?

[scatterflower]

[ If it were possible for her to blush right now, Chika was sure that her face would've been brighter than a ripe tomato. She had been in worse situations before. Freaking out wasn't going to help at all. Yet that's what she'd been doing anyway. It was time to calm down and get this situation fixed. ]

Okay...

What do I need to do, Aqua?

You probably transformed when you fell, right? Your body was only reacting to the danger in order to protect you. Now that you're safe, it won't be very hard to transform back.

Start by focusing on an image of yourself as you normally are.

It's really that easy?

[ Well, at the very least, she might as well try it. Besides, Aqua knows what's going on, having been a weapon for a lot longer than she was. So... focus on being Chika, not on being a digivice. Got it. That shouldn't be too hard, right? She knew what she looked like.

Just stay calm and focus. Stay calm and focus... Stay calm and focus... ]

*Auron had also found himself near the stairs but luckily at the bottom so he didn't have a chance to find out his new status just yet. He peers down at the strange looking machina.*

How did you get here?

[scatterflower]

BREW sent me flying down the damn stairs, that's how!

[ She might just be a bit annoyed, to say the least. ]

[nofarplaneyet]

*Fayth, it was a Weapon! That startled him, as Auron is used to Weapons having pointy sides.* How'd that...wait. Did you suddenly end up here too? *He crouches down to talk to the Weapon.*

[scatterflower]

Yeah. I was just at work, but then BREW put me at the top of the stairs.

[ Sorry Auron, not everyone could be sharp pointy death implement things. ]

[nofarplaneyet]

*That's okay. He'll let it slide.*

And...you fell off? Guess I should be lucky I didn't appear on the stairs. Can you transform back or would it help if I tried resonating with you?

[scatterflower]

[ That... was a good question. Time to change back.

Change back... now.

... Nope. Nothing happened. ]

I... can't change back. But how will resonating help me do that?

[nofarplaneyet]

It can't hurt to try everything possible. *Auron leans over to gently grab hold of the digivice and attempt resonance like he'd done so many times before. It's rather abruptly canceled out, like pushing two magnets together that fight to separate.*

Why won't this...

*work is what he wants to say but he gets cut off when the shock of resonance not working forces him to change forms as well. Into a rather hefty sake jug.*

[ Oh hey, there she goes clattering on the ground again. And that shock was not fun at all. Thanks a lot, Auron! ]

What was that about!?

[ This would be working out so much better if she could, you know, use that weapon sense that most weapon's had so that she could actually 'see'. ]

[evokes]

Is that you, Chika-san? [Minako ends up calling out when she hears her after passing by, and while she's sure that the voice is Chika at least, what it was coming from... Last time she checked, the other girl was a meister, wasn't she?]

[scatterflower]

Minako-chan! I'm so happy to hear from you!

[ She tries to bounce or something... but can't. Because she still hasn't figured this whole body thing out yet. ]

Umm... you might want to check on the ground. I... BREW did something weird.

[evokes]

[Looking towards the ground now... OH JEEZ she immediately crouches down and scoops Chika into her hands.]

I thought something strange just happened... But this is definitely a little more than strange! [She smiles weakly.] Just what did BREW turn you into?

[scatterflower]

[ Chika lets out a sigh or relief, trying to figure out what she is exactly. The shape seems familiar, but it's still pretty weird. ]

Umm... I think it might've turned me into a Digivice. I mean, I'm pretty sure I'm not a phone. I don't have any keypad or what looks like a big huge touch-screen, right?

[evokes]

[She gives a nod.] If you're supposed to be a phone, it's definitely not like one I've ever seen. What's a Digivice though?

[scatterflower]

[ Yeah. Not going to go with phone then. ]

Well, umm... it's something special from my world. And explaining it might take a little while. Since I need to explain things about my world to explain what it's used for. You busy?

[evokes]

[She gives a smile.] Not especially. I have some free time to spare.

[scatterflower]

[ Chika gives a bit of a laugh, but it feels weird doing that in her weapon form. Of course, it was weird to even think of herself as a weapon. ]

Okay, I'll try to explain things then. Back in my world, well, we had a connection to another one. Filled with creatures complete different from people. Most of them were completely sentient, despite being things like dinosaurs, bipedal dogs, and flying plants.

Anyway, years ago, the barriers between the two worlds was really weak, and it let a lot of those creatures, called Digimon through into the human world. Once there... well, most of them kinds went nuts. Human emotions kinda really affect Digimon a lot.
