EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt 1 [OPEN]

Description: ...something strange is going on here.

At some point, something strange begins to happen. People start randomly disappearing. Sometimes they reappear immediately after and they may not even notice, but sometimes there's a noticeable lag between their disappearance and their reappearance.

Sometimes, they don't even reappear in the same place!

At least it doesn't seem to be dangerous. Unless you disappeared from your kitchen and reappeared at the other end of the city. In which case, you might want to start running.

Either everything sort of points at this being BREW related (after all, if it were Witches, there would be a lot more danger).

[L bristles, just slightly, at the inferences he's making in those kind statements. A little shock of static rattles their resonance, and though it's brief, it's certainly jolting enough to register in their wavelength.]

Yes. It's very nice to see. I'm very grateful.

[Aaaand that's probably why, because L doesn't like saying that he's grateful, or admitting that help is appreciated because it was so direly needed. Nevertheless, he's definitely found himself in that position frequently as of late.]

Have you met our dog?

[It's a subject change that L counts on, since Takuto knows how uneasy he is around the animals and will likely be surprised that he and Light have one at all.]

[Takuto's confused by the sharp jolts through their resonance, but he's hardly surprised that their connection isn't perfect. It's still a small miracle that they're managing this much, after all.

The reason for it is probably hidden in Ryuzaki's short and textbook articulation of gratitude, but Takuto doesn't have any time to ponder it because he is easily distracted.]

You have a dog? [There's a bubbly, puppy-like exuberance flowing through his wavelength now, though it's tempered somewhat by a slight skepticism. Ryuzaki having a dog is weird, after all.] I thought you didn't like dogs.

[Any dogs in the vicinity immediately become stunning animals, their coats suffused with a heroic gleam and their dark eyes brimming with kindness. Any cats look like spectacular feline athletes, too.]

Yeah... Light brought him home after the break-in. I guess he thought it would be better to have some security, since the cameras we had in place were only so reliable, and decided I want them down in our apartment, anyway.

[His tone is flinty, implying that there is definitely a reason, and definitely people he does not want watching them.]

I don't, but he likes me. For some reason. And maybe it's because I'm injured, but he's very protective. Light calls him Achilles.

Some dogs are really good at looking after people. [He's thinking of his own dog, the puppy that's been doing quite a bit of growing. Despite being only nearly a year old, the labrador has done quite a bit of looking-after as far as Takuto is concerned.]

This one seems to be. He likes strangers as long as I'm not keyed up about them, though, so he should like you.

Actually...

[He pauses.]

I haven't seen him yet, so you wouldn't mind sticking around for a bit after we're back, right?

Not at all.

[Though, for a brief moment, their resonance gets a little tense. Takuto is more than happy to help out a friend--however loosely or appropriate that term is for Ryuzaki--though only if Ryuzaki doesn't completely creep him out in the process. As things are now, though, Takuto has no problem with it letting Ryuzaki see his own dog.

The somewhat glowing pathway before them shimmers a bit, as if by mentioning home the path now wants to encourage them to hurry.]

[Whether he's aware of it or not, L quickens his pace and before long, they're back at the palatial-by-apartment-standards condos.

He ascends the stairs in silence, taking out his key (which he has, lucky break) and lets them in.

Instantly, they are pelted with a medium-sized, dense boxer, and anyone resonating with L can tell that he is rattled, tense, and freaking the hell out. He's hiding it outwardly so well, though, that even the dog wouldn't normally be able to tell.

But L doesn't usually wear masks. The dog growls, lowering its head and baring its teeth at the intruder.]

Down, Achilles....

[It sounds unpracticed, largely because Light usually calls him off, but Light isn't here.]
