EVENT: Retake the City
Characters: Every who signed up to retake the city
Location: Death City
Rating: PG
Time: July 4th
Description: There are Kishin eggs in the city. Like, everywhere. They've pretty much taken over and we can't have that, now can we?
Early in the morning, the sandstorm finally began to fade. By noon, it was gone completely, leaving behind far too much sand for comfort. The city is not in the best shape, having taken damage from the elements as well as the Kishin Eggs that are crawling all over the place, who seem to have made this place a new home.
They could move under the sand (and were quite fast when they did) and the fact that apart from their mouth the rest of their orifices was quite small it's clear that they were built to move like that. There's also the pesky fact that the city has buildings and alley ways they can hide in. The fact that Death City is layered like a cake is also a problem as it creates a lot of place for an enemy to jump down and ambush unsuspecting victims.
Of course, it's easy enough to repay in kind.
Either way, the familiar streets of Death City is now a battleground and the objective? Take back the city.

Hopefully Asuka would go through it in the way that usually left these things dead. But if not she was going to pull her partner back out and moved to slash at the thing against. Or stab it. Or stab it and then cut off it's head. Or anything that would result in dead monster.

'Perfect! You hit it dead-on. What a lucky break, huh?'
no subject
They, well, there were still more of the Kishin eggs to take care of, and Chika's eyes were darting around the area furiously just to see if she could find any of them.
no subject
'Seven-o-clock, there's another one. It doesn't look like it's spotted us yet though.' That's right, Asuka wouldn't let anything get the jump on them again.
no subject
She nodded when she heard Asuka's comment, turning to face in that direction to see if she could see the creature. And sure enough, there it was.
Now all she needed to do was get closer to it, and keep it from noticing them. So that's what she was doing, inching towards the creature as she readied herself to stab Asuka at it.
no subject
But she really didn't have time to pursue the subject at all, seeing as they were right in the middle of a fight and busy sneaking up on another Kishin egg. It didn't seem to notice them creeping closer until the very last moment, when it turned to find a surprise waiting for it.
'Ha! Too late!' TRIUMPH.
no subject
Chika turned her head, looking around. So far she didn't see any more Kishin eggs where they were, but that didn't mean that they were all gone. She doubted that they were all gone, actually. "You see any more of them nearby?"
no subject
At Chika's question, she widened her search, looking all around them carefully. 'I don't see anything right now, but that doesn't mean anything...' In that moment, something caught her attention and she focused on it intently.
'There's something moving under the sand, a little behind us... I can't tell what it is though.' Probably nothing good.
no subject
It was something that little sisters were supposed to do, after all.
But right now focusing on the mission was definitely more important. Especially with all of the monsters swarming around them.
"That's not good," she mumbled out, turning around as she tightened her grip around Asuka. "Can you tell how far down below the sand it is?"
no subject
'It seems to be only a couple of feet down. Maybe coming closer to the surface. I think it's heading towards us now.'
As if on cue, the lump of moving sand made itself perfectly visible to the naked eye, growing large as it moved...
no subject
Something that the two of them might not want to stab. Though once it breaks free, if it does turn out to be a Kishin egg, Asuka's going right through the things throat.
no subject
Asuka was obviously not pleased with the fact that the Kishin eggs could sneak up on them underground here. But at the very least it had decided to come out while it was still some distance away, and it was heading towards them very determinedly.
no subject
But once it was there, she wasted no time in stabbing at the creatures head with the pointy tip of her partner. Hopefully the attack would be enough to take it out with one strike. But if not, Chika was already moving to pull her out and stab with her again.
no subject
'Seriously?? I think this one was hiding the second one!'
no subject
"Try to see if there are any more of them under this one too!"
no subject
'Nothing nearby. I think this guy's as good as dead too. Good job, Chika.'
no subject
"That's good. Let's... keep searching," she said, taking a few deep breaths. It might need to wait a little bit, until after she recovered a bit, but hey. It's not like it'd be that much of a problem. Other than being a little winded she was still ready to go.
no subject
And that was exactly what she was doing. Most of her attention was directed outward. There had been enough close calls today already, and she did not want to encounter any more. It would be better for the both of them if she just focused on the task at hand.
no subject
But so far, she wasn't seeing anything. She didn't dare ask Asuka if she saw anything, because she knew that the other girl would let her know as soon as she saw something. But... not seeing something yet was really, really unnerving.
no subject
'I think this area's pretty clear.'
Just as she spoke those words, she glimpsed something skulking by behind a building. She pointed it out to Chika. 'Well, maybe not as clear as I thought...'
no subject
Still, considering everything, it'd probably be a good idea to regroup after they took care of this kishin. To actually rest a little bit before going back out. That'd be really, really nice right about now.
"How close is it?" Chika asks, whispering as she moves closer and closer to where the monster was supposed to be, hands tightening around Asuka even more than they had already been.
no subject
At least, it didn't seem to be coming towards them, but moving away from them. Hmm.
no subject
no subject
'Yeah, it's just the one. You can definitely kick its ass.'
no subject
Chika's eyes narrow as she continues to run, before she actually jumps into the air and points Asuka down at the creature, hoping to stab her through it when she lands on top of it.
