EVENT: Retake the City
Characters: Every who signed up to retake the city
Location: Death City
Rating: PG
Time: July 4th
Description: There are Kishin eggs in the city. Like, everywhere. They've pretty much taken over and we can't have that, now can we?
Early in the morning, the sandstorm finally began to fade. By noon, it was gone completely, leaving behind far too much sand for comfort. The city is not in the best shape, having taken damage from the elements as well as the Kishin Eggs that are crawling all over the place, who seem to have made this place a new home.
They could move under the sand (and were quite fast when they did) and the fact that apart from their mouth the rest of their orifices was quite small it's clear that they were built to move like that. There's also the pesky fact that the city has buildings and alley ways they can hide in. The fact that Death City is layered like a cake is also a problem as it creates a lot of place for an enemy to jump down and ambush unsuspecting victims.
Of course, it's easy enough to repay in kind.
Either way, the familiar streets of Death City is now a battleground and the objective? Take back the city.

"That's good. Let's... keep searching," she said, taking a few deep breaths. It might need to wait a little bit, until after she recovered a bit, but hey. It's not like it'd be that much of a problem. Other than being a little winded she was still ready to go.
no subject
And that was exactly what she was doing. Most of her attention was directed outward. There had been enough close calls today already, and she did not want to encounter any more. It would be better for the both of them if she just focused on the task at hand.
no subject
But so far, she wasn't seeing anything. She didn't dare ask Asuka if she saw anything, because she knew that the other girl would let her know as soon as she saw something. But... not seeing something yet was really, really unnerving.

'I think this area's pretty clear.'
Just as she spoke those words, she glimpsed something skulking by behind a building. She pointed it out to Chika. 'Well, maybe not as clear as I thought...'
no subject
Still, considering everything, it'd probably be a good idea to regroup after they took care of this kishin. To actually rest a little bit before going back out. That'd be really, really nice right about now.
"How close is it?" Chika asks, whispering as she moves closer and closer to where the monster was supposed to be, hands tightening around Asuka even more than they had already been.
no subject
At least, it didn't seem to be coming towards them, but moving away from them. Hmm.

no subject
'Yeah, it's just the one. You can definitely kick its ass.'
no subject
Chika's eyes narrow as she continues to run, before she actually jumps into the air and points Asuka down at the creature, hoping to stab her through it when she lands on top of it.
no subject
'Are you SERIOUS? Chika, you're gonna have to stab it again.'
It wasn't moving particularly quickly after that thorough stabbing, but it was still turning to try and take a hit at them.
no subject
Which of course means that the two of them are in prime position to get... well, to have the Kishin egg come after them as soon as it recovers a bit. She stumbles to her feet, looking around for her partner and making sure to keep an eye on that creature. She didn't survive this many battles to get eaten now.
no subject
She could wait for Chika to find and grab her, but they were sitting ducks like this, and if the Kishin egg managed to get to them before that happened, they were done for. Which meant that it might be better if...
Well, there was no time to think about it more than that. Without waiting another beat, Asuka transformed out of her Weapon form and immediately started sprinting towards Chika, closing the distance between them quickly and grabbing the other girl's hand with a shout, shifting back once again the moment they were touching.
Which would probably be good for Chika because oh hey, the monster's right there now.
no subject
Chika started to move towards Asuka, trying to close that distance and help her because it was their only shot and reaching out to grab her hand.
Thankfully, Asuka managed to close most of the distance, and was already in her weapon form again when the Kishin egg got closer to them.
"Now die you monster!"
With that shout, Chika moves to stab that creature through the head again. And she was going to pull Asuka out of her and do it again if she needed to. As many times until she was sure the thing was dead.
no subject
'Hey, hey, it's dead. You can stop stabbing now.'
Asuka cast a glance around them, assessing what was nearby and then added:
'I think we need a break now. That was kind of awful...'
no subject
"I... rest. Rest is good. I don't think I have the energy for another fight right now."
And even if she did, she was still a little bit nerve-wracked by the whole almost dying thing.
no subject
'Okay, good. We should be fine if we break through that window right ahead.'
At least, she didn't see anything nearby, so she figured that would be a good enough place to hide out and rest.
no subject
Didn't stop her from trying though, and she grabbed it with her hands and pushed up, Asuka pressed between her chest and the building while she tried it. It didn't budge.
So Chika did the next best thing. "Hey, I'm going to smash you through the window now..."
And then she moved, driving the pointy end of Asuka through the window and hoping that shards of glass didn't end up cutting her hands or anything.
no subject
'Make sure you don't cut yourself on any stray fragments coming in. I'd hate for you to be bleeding everywhere and make yourself weak.'
Aw, that was like concern!
no subject
Still, that was easier said than done, considering that, you know, shards of glass everywhere. But somehow Chika managed, at least. She let out a sigh once they were safely in the building, and quickly moved over into a corner and sat down. Finally letting herself take a few deep breaths.
"At least like this we should be able to see them coming in before it happens." She mumbled out, leaning against the wall. "Though what I wouldn't give for a nice hot bath and comfy bed right about now."
no subject
'Me too... we'll just both have to bathe and sleep forever after this. Deal?'
no subject
Sure, one of those close calls still had her freaked out, but still. "Yeah. That sounds like a wonderful idea. Heck, I don't even need to worry about the Arcade for a couple of days anyway."
no subject
Well, then again, Asuka kind of believed that she always deserved pampering, but... details.

Though now that they were making those plans, something else that Chika was thinking about came to her mind. She and Asuka, the two of them really got along well together. And they worked great together in things like this too.
"... Hey Asuka? Do you mind if I ask you something real quick?"
