EVENT: Retake the City
Characters: Every who signed up to retake the city
Location: Death City
Rating: PG
Time: July 4th
Description: There are Kishin eggs in the city. Like, everywhere. They've pretty much taken over and we can't have that, now can we?
Early in the morning, the sandstorm finally began to fade. By noon, it was gone completely, leaving behind far too much sand for comfort. The city is not in the best shape, having taken damage from the elements as well as the Kishin Eggs that are crawling all over the place, who seem to have made this place a new home.
They could move under the sand (and were quite fast when they did) and the fact that apart from their mouth the rest of their orifices was quite small it's clear that they were built to move like that. There's also the pesky fact that the city has buildings and alley ways they can hide in. The fact that Death City is layered like a cake is also a problem as it creates a lot of place for an enemy to jump down and ambush unsuspecting victims.
Of course, it's easy enough to repay in kind.
Either way, the familiar streets of Death City is now a battleground and the objective? Take back the city.

Didn't stop her from trying though, and she grabbed it with her hands and pushed up, Asuka pressed between her chest and the building while she tried it. It didn't budge.
So Chika did the next best thing. "Hey, I'm going to smash you through the window now..."
And then she moved, driving the pointy end of Asuka through the window and hoping that shards of glass didn't end up cutting her hands or anything.

'Make sure you don't cut yourself on any stray fragments coming in. I'd hate for you to be bleeding everywhere and make yourself weak.'
Aw, that was like concern!
no subject
Still, that was easier said than done, considering that, you know, shards of glass everywhere. But somehow Chika managed, at least. She let out a sigh once they were safely in the building, and quickly moved over into a corner and sat down. Finally letting herself take a few deep breaths.
"At least like this we should be able to see them coming in before it happens." She mumbled out, leaning against the wall. "Though what I wouldn't give for a nice hot bath and comfy bed right about now."
no subject
'Me too... we'll just both have to bathe and sleep forever after this. Deal?'
no subject
Sure, one of those close calls still had her freaked out, but still. "Yeah. That sounds like a wonderful idea. Heck, I don't even need to worry about the Arcade for a couple of days anyway."
no subject
Well, then again, Asuka kind of believed that she always deserved pampering, but... details.

Though now that they were making those plans, something else that Chika was thinking about came to her mind. She and Asuka, the two of them really got along well together. And they worked great together in things like this too.
"... Hey Asuka? Do you mind if I ask you something real quick?"
no subject
'Huh? Oh, yeah! Sure!'
no subject
But well, maybe they'd be better off just asking it now and getting it over with?
So yeah, time to speak. "I was wondering... since we work so well together, would you like to become partners. Like, actual partners? Not just teaming up for the odd mission here or there?"
no subject
The answer was immediate and vehement. She hadn't been expecting the question at all, but she innately knew her answer. Chika was the first person she had really connected with in a long time, and she knew she couldn't let that go. It came around so rarely.

"Great!" She pauses for a moment, making sure that nothing was coming for them, before she continued. "I'm really glad Asuka. I'm sure we'll be great together."
